- Laurie Shaver, married name Laurie Filmer, took the stand on Thursday afternoon, giving the timelines of events that led up to the fatal shooting of her husband, Michael Shaver. Laurie immediately started to get emotional when she first talked about meeting Michael in the 7th grade. She went on to talk about their lives together and when it all fell apart. She also talked about her dating life before rekindling with Michael later in life.

Florida mom Laurie Shaver was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in 2020 after her husband, Michael Shaver, had been missing since 2015. His body was discovered buried beneath a concrete slab in Laurie Shaver’s backyard. In a shocking twist, the couple’s daughter confessed to the crime, claiming she shot her father to protect her mother, who allegedly said he was abusing her at the time. However, in opening statements, Laurie Shaver’s attorney said her lover, Jereme Townshend, shot and killed Michael. If convicted, Laurie Shaver could face life in prison.

When you look closely at the lying daughter’s testimony, she really isn’t admitting she actually made a shot that hit him. She claimed nothing happened, he didn’t fall over or anything, basically indicating she shot the gun but missed, and then magically Jeremy Townsend enters scene, takes gun & shoots Michael dead. 🙄
Michael was shot once, in the back of the head. So the daughter’s testimony seems aimed at blaming the death on Jeremy, instead of really admitting to doing the killing herself.

She insisted they move to Florida to separate him from his family and support. No local flying jobs available, so he took his mechanic skills and worked on the monorails. He volunteered on an aircraft racing team to keep in touch with aviation for possible openings.
