Ivor Cutler: Pickle Your Knees
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 лют 2016
- Taken from the e.p. Ivor Cutler 'Ivor Cutler of Y'hup' 1959 on Fontana Records. Written by Ivor Cutler. In 1958, after writing and performing for a few years with no joy, Ivor headed to the BBC studios to make a self accompanied appearance on 'Monday Night at Home' and ended up staying for the next 5 years. Y'hup is Cutler's own fictionalised self-sufficient island, and despite this being his first foray into the world of wax, his surrealist approach was evidently there to start with. A member of the Noise Abatement Society(!?!), cult legend and a Scottish national treasure, there really is only one Ivor Cutler...jeez, he even knew The Beatles enough to find himself a part in the movie 'Magical Mystery Tour'! These recordings were re-issued on cd in 2005 by Decca Records. I do not own,or claim to own any copywrite regarding this recording.

Pickle yer knees in cheese 🙂
Pickle your knees in honey
Pickle your knees in peas
And if you want the sweetest knees in the business
Pickle your knees in cheese
Pickle your knees, pickle your knees
Pickle your knees in cheese
162 when you pickle your knees in glue
And before my contemptuous eyes
She attempted to rise
Pickle your knees, pickle your knees
Pickle your knees in cheese
Pickle your knees, pickle your knees
Pickle your knees in cheese
Pickle your knees in honey
Pickle your knees in peas
And if you want the sweetest knees in the business
Pickle your knees in cheese
Pickle your knees, pickle your knees
Pickle your knees in cheese
Pickle your knees, pickle your knees
Pickle your knees in cheese
I want to have the sweetest knees in business. Therefore, I will pickle my knees in cheese.

Ivor was as mad as a box of frogs and nutty as a fruit cake -Great stuff.
He even pre-dated fellow bonkers Btit`s like Spike Milligan,The Pythons and Peter Cook & Dudley Moore.
We need some new generation leftfield loonies to fill the void.
Ivor certainly didn’t predate Spike Milligan, as far as a career in the arts is concerned, but I agree wholeheartedly that we need more lefty loonies out on the boards!
@@thebrownshadowrecords7966 I stand corrected :0)
I was too young to appreciate Spike`s Goon`s era or before -but joined him around the time of his zany "Q" series on BBC2. I caught up with some of his books later too and remain a fan to this day.
I stumbled upon Ivor due to John Peel`s radio show via a school friend at the time.
I can never remember seeing him on the T.V. though ..he was probably considered too "weird " for mainstream telly back then.
:D
Hehehe
fixngobble TV why you, I oughta!!!
