got to love these two. so talented! I wish Donald had been in more movies. He has such fantastic timing and charisma. Everytime he opens his mouth I smile ^_^
Gene and Donald made such a good team, they should've done more together! "It's times like this that I wish our names were Como and Sinatra." "You mean we wish we were Italians?" LOL Donald is so funny at that part, and I love Gene's smile at 4:36! So cute!
MyViddyWatchee, you wrote: "oh my goodness I think i'm in love with Donald O'Connor. Is it weird that my heart skips a beat every time I see him and I smile when ever I hear his name or mention him?" Not at all! :D *swoon*
Standing ovation. That is the bar I reach for. A glorious slap to the face of today's so-called talent. Triple threat should mean actor/dancer/singer...not can't act....can't dance...can't sing.
I LOVE this! It's so fantastic! Donald and Gene are two geniuses together, they have real chemistry. And such an incredibly clever idea too! love it when they stand up and then suddenly remember and sit back down before giving in and getting up!
I love Donald, he was absolutely amazing dancer. Only him and I believe Fred Astaire could ever keep up with Gene Kelly with no problem. Forever Donald!
It's hard to believe Gene was 13 years older than Donald. There will never be anyone like Kelly and O'Connor, luckily they will live on forever through their movies and television shows!
I am a mere 16 years of age, but I know, and have seen a plethera of old movies. Name an old movie, I most likely have seen it. So I understand what true talent is. And THIS, my friends, is true talent.
What the heck is this from!!?? What an amazing piece of history! My mom's oldest brother was a friend of Donald O' Connor's (Really!!) and he would tell us amazing stories, like the one about the fact that Donald and Gene loved working together, but that Donald admitted that Gene could be a bit of a "hardass" to work with on the set of "Singin' In The Rain", and that Donald needed actual hospitalized rest for 2-3 days after performing "Make Em' Laugh."
This is what I call talent!!! Better than all of the shit than we have today! Donald O'Connor and Gene Kelly were both the best dancers the world has ever seen! And Gene Kelly is the definition of the HOTTEST guy in the world back in those days!! Miss you to death Gene and Donald!!! Love you guys forever!!!!!!!! 3
Gene Kelly ,was a fantastic ,Brilliant amazing genus at that, song and dance man I only dream to dance like him some day, I seem a lot movies with him ,I sit and stare at him , And watch it over and over again , And Only Dream to dance like that, Only with I could have Met Him, Dance In Heaven Gene Kelly , Show them In Heaven what you know. Dancer like me who try will pass it on , or Brilliant dancers all ready here on earth are doing already ,God Bless you in his arms , Rest in Peace ,For your Brilliant work Love Your Friend on Earth Julie Hastings.
I love the thing Gene did before this sequence...the response...Ballin' the Jack....Stole my heart. Love his comment here though "can I be ethel?" "ethel how you've changed."
Kelly and O'Connor had to get along extremely well in order to do some of the choreography they did in their films. @msbacktoshangrila there will never be another pairing as good as them. Period.
When they finish singing and tapping to SINGING IN THE RAIN Gene pretends to splash water and Donald says 'Oop, right in the eye'- it's a quote from his movie THERE"S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS, but nobody seems to have noticed it so far:)))
Many thanks for posting this. We just don't have dancing talent like this anymore and it's so precious to have something to watch and think back on that time when we were fortunate enough to have these great talents.
That's so cool! I love watching all these kinds of dances :D I only recognized Singing In The Rain, but I couldn't help but smile and clap to all of them!
You can definitely see Kelly's influence on O'Connor's dancing style. When Donald started dancing he was just a hoofer. When he started dancing with Gene Kelly, who had years of ballet training, that's when he started dancing with his whole body instead of just from the waist down, and in a controlled way rather than just flailing about. Kelly was an amazing dancer, but he was just as good a teacher as he was a dancer. Debbie Reynolds, for example. This was a pure pleasure to watch!
Let`s hear it for Gerry Rainbow. He is a talented guy who sure appreciates, respects and celebrates talent. I mean talent that is through the roof. What a video clip. So good. So inspiring. So joyous. Those 2 dancers should be able to come back and be able to live forever. They certainly deserve it. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
I love to see this, I'm a tapdancer myself, and I recognize a lot of things what we learned in the lessons. Thanks for uploading this video, I love watching tapdance-video's
god i LOVE this...what talent! it almost looks like their legs and torsos don't belong together when they are in the chairs. they make it look so easy!
Donald's cuteness knows no limits
I love Gene but when he's dancing with Donald, it's Donald I can't take my eyes off. :)
Definitely
can I just say Donald O'Conner is just adorable!
got to love these two. so talented! I wish Donald had been in more movies. He has such fantastic timing and charisma. Everytime he opens his mouth I smile ^_^
I love that little Donald solo part :)
If anyone deserved immortality, it was people like these two who gave so much pleasure to the world.
About 2:49, "Oh, right in the eye." I love Donald's humor. My two favorite classic performers together.
Two of the most amazing dancers in history.
Gene and Donald made such a good team, they should've done more together!
"It's times like this that I wish our names were Como and Sinatra."
"You mean we wish we were Italians?"

This is the most ridiculously charming thing I have seen all week
The four most fabulous feet that ever danced, together again. Loved those two men dancing together.
These two are amazingly talented dancers!!! Gene is just brilliant and Donald is funny, brilliant, and cuuute! :)
Standing ovation. That is the bar I reach for. A glorious slap to the face of today's so-called talent. Triple threat should mean actor/dancer/singer...not can't act....can't dance...can't sing.
I love Donald! Sense of Love, Humor, Dancing and doing his own stunts. All that i'm looking in a man ; )
Love the face Gene makes when Donald say "francis the mule"
I love Donald's smile @ 4:34. They are sorely missed!
Seriously? Who can dislike this??? These guys are so adorable!
Gene kelly is so cute when he smiles! :D
I love Donald... truly a great performer!!!
I LOVE this! It's so fantastic! Donald and Gene are two geniuses together, they have real chemistry. And such an incredibly clever idea too! love it when they stand up and then suddenly remember and sit back down before giving in and getting up!
Donald O'Connor and Gene Kelley. Fantastic!
Sheer unadulterated magic,Donald O'connor is the coolest mover I've ever seen in films
donald stole that one .... pure charm !
the last two minutes of this is exact choreography from Moses Supposes!
Listen to the thunderous applause at the end!!! They totally deserved it.

Love Donald O'Connor
I love the way you can see that they're really having fun!
I like Donald O'Connor, and their camaraderie here is so good :)
Dancers, singers, actors, comedians... How I miss these two titans of show business.
So great to see them interact...LOVE these kinda dancing guys for sure! ThanX
I love how they look at each other at 5:48 - 5:50 & can't help but grin. Too cute!
This is what I call talent!!! Better than all of the shit than we have today! Donald O'Connor and Gene Kelly were both the best dancers the world has ever seen! There will never be anyone like Gene Kelly and Donald O'Conor again!
What a truly great pair of hoofers - wonderful timing - a movie age never to be repeated.
God i loved those two together. Nothing better :)
I just love this era of dance and entertainment.
I love how Gene says, "Not again." at 2:30, like Don does that to him on a regular basis.
I want 6:21 minutes of my life back so i can watch this again & again & again FOREVER beautiful moments to enjoy.
Those guys had talent and class!
I`d give this more than 5 stars if possible. Those two are absolutely incredible.
geez. the way they act makes me feel like i personally know them. it's magical, really.
you dont find performers like these guys anymore... they hold a status of their own.
I love the thing Gene did before this sequence...the response...Ballin' the Jack....Stole my heart. Love his comment here though "can I be ethel?" "ethel how you've changed."
"Ethel, how you've changed."
ahaha
they are missed
Two real and skilled talents.
What else is there to add except what a joy it is to watch them both?
this is amazing! had a smile the whole time! hahaha! :)
I had a huge grin on my face the ENTIRE 6 minutes and 21 seconds of this video :-)
those were some CRAZY over-the-tops!
Fantastic! We will never see the likes of such talent again. Thank god for UA-cam where we can revel in wonderful talent of days gone by.
I vaguely remember this planet. Entertainers had something they don't have on this planet. . . what is it called. . . oh, yes! TALENT.
They dance better sitting down than some people do standing up!! Priceless.
Kelly and O'Connor had to get along extremely well in order to do some of the choreography they did in their films. @msbacktoshangrila there will never be another pairing as good as them. Period.
no joke! amazing how easy they make it look.
In love with Donald
These men are the amazing example of talent! if only there were actors of this caliber now!
This just never gets old :)
Utter brilliance! They look so young, and yet they make reference to "the oldies". What a nice surprise to come across this...
I lovw how the last dance is from singing in the rain with the Moses song. Its the best duo routine ever choreographed.
Wow, this is truly why UA-cam is so valuable! To discover this gem is the reason for the existence of it!
Beautiful. Two great dancing guys together. Miss them both. Shame . Nothing compares to these multitalented gentlemen. 💞💞
Wow, what a show!!!
I love them both! Thank you very, very much!
This bought a smile to my face these two were the best their relaxed moves were of a lifetime of dedication and work amazing athletes
Best 6:20 I've spent in ages!
For another awesome few minutes look up river dance Irish dance vs tap dance
It's awesome!
When they finish singing and tapping to SINGING IN THE RAIN Gene pretends to splash water and Donald says 'Oop, right in the eye'- it's a quote from his movie THERE"S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS, but nobody seems to have noticed it so far:)))
no one will ever be this cool. ever. again.
Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, and Ray Bolger... Imagine if they teamed up with these boys and WHAT a dance we'd have
Many thanks for posting this. We just don't have dancing talent like this anymore and it's so precious to have something to watch and think back on that time when we were fortunate enough to have these great talents.
Brilliant. The firiendship and skill just oozes out of the screen. Marvellous.
Brings a nostalgic tear to the eye. Brilliant dancers, just brilliant.
TRUE TALENT....! I doubt we'll ever see such greatness as this again in our lifetimes. Thanks so much for the post.
I'm glad I was alive to see them. I was born 1941 so was great.
Beautiful! I really lived in that time, I'm 70+. Tis time never comes back. 1000 thanks to you, SISAPIS for this marvellous video!
I wish I was around when they were famous, back when movies were good and to be a star you had to have talent.
They make it look so easy!~ Fantastic vid. Thanks for sharing.
Gawd, I love these guys! I sat here with a big, goofy grin on my face the whole time.
That's so cool! I love watching all these kinds of dances :D I only recognized Singing In The Rain, but I couldn't help but smile and clap to all of them!
Yes, I really love these guys! They´re always great!!
Sheer genius. Pure magic. All lost. Why was I born too late?
**sigh** dude these guys are my heroes. i wish they were still around !
oh wow - that was AWESOME!! Thank you so much for sharing it here...

Completely amazing! I wish tap was popular again!!!
Pure magic ~ love them both
I feel the same way sometimes!!! I'm about 20 now & I've been watching musicals since I was about 13. The oldies are truly the goodies.
I love to see this, I'm a tapdancer myself, and I recognize a lot of things what we learned in the lessons. Thanks for uploading this video, I love watching tapdance-video's
That was just fantastic! It doesn't get any better than Donald and Gene.
god i LOVE this...what talent! it almost looks like their legs and torsos don't belong together when they are in the chairs. they make it look so easy!
I'm happy this morning after hearing/seeing this vid. Thanks for posting it!
Ah, the heroes of my childhood! Yeah, not THAT old but those movies were still on TV when I was a kid. Not anymore. :(
Wow. Don't think i've ever seen better dancing isolation. I miss this kind of talent.
