It’s cool that Vanquish Soul got its first DLC character since this came out. Jiaolong is a fun addition to the meta, even if his staff attacks have pretty crazy hitboxes.
Vanquish Soul was an archetype that didn't sound that great when reading it but after playing it and understanding how it works it's so much fun and I hope we get more fighters to the roster especially ones that have effects like pluton since it gives the deck more chanses to play during turn 0. Also as always Emony's editing is fantastic.
So, the fighting game theme runs a bit deeper. Even the art evokes the character designs of the fighters from the Blazblue franchise Mad Love - Kokonoe Pluton - Arakune Kaizer - Susano'o Borger - Iron Tager Panthera - Makoto, Panthera, is also the name of the arguably best version of Razer branded Fight Stick controller Razen - Naoto Also, a lot of the spell/traps have references to other keywords from the lore and game mechanics, like Calamity, Dust, and Burst
And the character posing also uses some moves or CSS poses from fighting games in general; Borger is pulling a common grappler leap pose (closest to Potemkin's), Razen is doing an ascending high knee like Terry Bogard, and Panthera is doing Juri's high knee thing.
i love fighting games, this archtypes is already one of my favorites, also loved the fighting game references on the video, really fun, btw didn't mention kaiju, there is a kaiju of every attribute you and it is so funny to just show your opponent "look at this kaiju" for the effects, basically taunting them
Love the way you made a character selection screen for the members of the Archetype. I really love this archetype's theme, makes me wish Yugioh would nake a spinoff fighting game with select monsters. That'd be awesome
I think the reveal hand mechanic is supposed to reference different button combinations to do different moves. One button (or one attribute) gets you a weak move but a combination of buttons (or multiple attributes) gets you a stronger move
The implication that Kaiser Varius, the Akuma-alike of the cast, has the most complicated input in the cast is the only thing that makes this theory sound a bit off; otherwise it's really neat to think of them that way.

Ive been testin with this deck and it is so much FUN. The fact that the big ones can "tag in" like you would in Marvel Vs Capcom and you can reveal monsters for "assist" attacks is so cool to me. Small World can search you any monster in the archetype that youre missing and There can be only one are really good in this archetype. (commenting before finishing video coz im so excited for this archetype uwu)
it really is more fun than I expected. I had my doubts reading them the first time through but then i saw a video actually showing what they did and it sold me on them.
Razen: cool protagonist classic shoto with some charge inputs that acts more like a rival character then the MC. Hype ass combos and theme music when low on health. Madlove: weird/quirky item reliant/resource management set up character who is used in tons of memes. Panthera: hard rushdown rekka character with high skill cieling whose the most popular of the original roster because she has the most lewds and is known outside the VS fighting game player scene. Pluton HG: weird fuck monster character that is the hardest to play and strongest character if you can play like a machine. Heavy Borger: hypest theme music and big fuck damage grappled with long reach and charging command grabs with armor. Kaiser Varius: hype beast boss character everyone loves because "I AM THE HYPE DRAGON!" with the sickest finisher. Rock of Vanquisher: story mode reasoning for all the characters to interact and fight.

i love the drastic improvement in the editing on this video. you really rocked this one. My only issue is Nova's avatar during the tech-pick section feels really aimless. maybe bounce it around a little in reverb with the voice or give him a few extra faces to swap through when talking.
I like how you presented the monsters like in a fighting game and that gave me the idea that you could present the hungry burger support like a Menu if its not to much work. Good Work Nova and EmonyChan
I've been labbing this archetype with Fur Hire and Zealantis to shuffle placements, and it's hilarious. Panthera as a "just in case" Donna enabler if Beat got Imperm'd, the extreme swarming capability and Calamity Kaiser as searchable negation, it's honestly extremely cool. Not as strong as Runick Fur Hire, but, it IS very cool
how do you even get Panthera out onto the field if Beat is already there? She requires no monsters in the main zones to special summon out Is that where Zealantis comes in?
I could see people splashing Artifacts into decks of this archetype, given that Panthera destroys _all_ backrow in its column at quick effect speed, not just your opponent's. I do have to say I'm disappointed in the use of Dark, instead of Wind or Water. We _desperately_ need more archetypes that use non-Chaos monsters. The Chaos types have totally dominated the game; and it's always such a let down that every time a new non-Chaos archetype comes out, it is woefully weak and there's three other Chaos archetypes released at the same time that are all very strong.

I'm pretty that's exactly what is. Assists are decided by the character preforming, not the one already fighting. It's not like Vegeta would have a different assist because your playing as Goku, only to change it when you swap into Beerus in Fighterz for example.
Dust is actually supposed to be referencing breaking through your opponent’s defense with a high lot low attack, since changing positions so you can beat over them
With the column effects and attributws acting as the different types, yeah, though maybe it's just from being only aware of them now that it feels like Flowandereeze, but evolved.
I absolutely love this deck and I've been testing it nonstop since it was revealed. One tech I'm a little surprised you didnt mention was Kashtira Fenrir. Obviously he does conflict with Panthera, but if you open with it, its a strong on field presence that gets you another Fenrir to have an earth in hand, or a single copy of Riseheart if you really need a Fire say for Stake Your Soul. Cant wait for this deck to come out.
A new member of the archetype was added in Age of Overloard: Vanquish Soul - Jiaolong Level 5 Monster Fire/Wyrm/Effect 2400 ATK/2100 DEF If you reveal a card(s) in your hand to activate a "Vanquish Soul" card or effect (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your hand. (Quick Effect): You can activate 1 of these effects, by revealing monster(s) in your hand with the listed Attribute(s): •FIRE: Change the battle position of 1 monster on the field. •2 FIRE: Add 1 "Vanquish Soul" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Vanquish Soul Jiaolong". You can only use each effect of "Vanquish Soul Jiaolong" once per turn, and cannot activate more than 1 in the same Chain. Commentor's Note: Since picking up Vanquish Soul (VS) from the latest pack in Master Duel, I've had success with this archetype. Jiaolong's addition to the roster gives the team some added evasion (1 Fire effect) to dodge removal such as Lightning Storm or Mirror Force, while its search effect (2 Fire) allows you to grab a much needed piece of interaction from your deck, such as Trinity Burst or Dust Devil.
I wish they had more s/t cards that like referenced fighting game mechanics. Like a shoryuken is used to create space with a pressuring opponent, so maybe a quick play/trap that returns 2 cards to the hand of your opponent controls 3 or more cards.
A deflector/Smash-esque Counter type move that turns your opponent's attempts at removal back on them. Since this is based on tag fighters, maybe an Super Change card that lets you tag one member into another. Give Borger a huge command grab style move as a card, something with a Spell Speed 4 clause to represent the fear big grapplers present.
I think that's what Razen's first effect that deals with the columns is a reference to. Feels like a wake up DP at least. Maybe it's more of a fireball super?
As a big fighting game fanatic, I love that this archetype is a homage to fighting game archetypes and balanced around the concept of the famous arcade tag fighter style is easily discernible when I see the routes of this deck. I really see the fighting game design within the cards and I love it. Ugh… why are they all going to be ultra rares though?
I do find it fun that the attributes are ment to be button combos. Which fits even more that enemy controller is in the set. All you need to do now is think of your life points as a fighter life bar
There is 1 more coming out later in the year that for me will replace pluton its again a fire type that can special summon itself if you've revealed an attribute to activate a vs effect and can reveat 1 fire to change the battle position of one monster on the field or 2 fires to search a vs card from deck

Honestly i love what konami cooks with new archetype rn Either upgrade of older cards like hungry burger, or straight up other modern culture reference like gold pride and vanquish.
I really Hope VS / Vanquish Soul get support and make more reference to fightning games Maybe a support card with an artwork themed after Smash Bros' "(X character) WINS". Maybe other 6 monsters, as a "rival game", based around the "Wind-Water-Light" trio ?
Even though it's a 99.9% chance that it isn't, I can't shake the feeling that, "Heaven or Hell, let's rock!" is a Kamen Rider Zero-One Hell Rising Hopper reference because the Progrise Key straight up says, "Heaven or Hell, it doesn't matter!"

I feel like their effects are less about reflecting the assist mechanic and more like putting in the proper button combo

Dust is actually supposed to be referencing breaking through your opponent’s defense with a high lot low attack, since changing positions so you can beat over them

This really feels like a cross between Mekk-Knights and Tri-Brigade. And the Fighting game motif is pretty nifty.
With the column effects and attributws acting as the different types, yeah, though maybe it's just from being only aware of them now that it feels like Flowandereeze, but evolved.
I absolutely love this deck and I've been testing it nonstop since it was revealed. One tech I'm a little surprised you didnt mention was Kashtira Fenrir. Obviously he does conflict with Panthera, but if you open with it, its a strong on field presence that gets you another Fenrir to have an earth in hand, or a single copy of Riseheart if you really need a Fire say for Stake Your Soul. Cant wait for this deck to come out.
And if you wanna get really cheeky, him and Heavy are both Level 7

Commentor's Note: Since picking up Vanquish Soul (VS) from the latest pack in Master Duel, I've had success with this archetype. Jiaolong's addition to the roster gives the team some added evasion (1 Fire effect) to dodge removal such as Lightning Storm or Mirror Force, while its search effect (2 Fire) allows you to grab a much needed piece of interaction from your deck, such as Trinity Burst or Dust Devil.

I wish they had more s/t cards that like referenced fighting game mechanics. Like a shoryuken is used to create space with a pressuring opponent, so maybe a quick play/trap that returns 2 cards to the hand of your opponent controls 3 or more cards.
A deflector/Smash-esque Counter type move that turns your opponent's attempts at removal back on them. Since this is based on tag fighters, maybe an Super Change card that lets you tag one member into another. Give Borger a huge command grab style move as a card, something with a Spell Speed 4 clause to represent the fear big grapplers present.
I think that's what Razen's first effect that deals with the columns is a reference to. Feels like a wake up DP at least. Maybe it's more of a fireball super?
As a big fighting game fanatic, I love that this archetype is a homage to fighting game archetypes and balanced around the concept of the famous arcade tag fighter style is easily discernible when I see the routes of this deck. I really see the fighting game design within the cards and I love it. Ugh… why are they all going to be ultra rares though?

I do find it fun that the attributes are ment to be button combos. Which fits even more that enemy controller is in the set. All you need to do now is think of your life points as a fighter life bar
With the burn effects, it could be chip damage or a successful combo
I have a feeling I will LOVE this deck, and seems it'll be pretty budget if Kaiser isn't a secret
There is 1 more coming out later in the year that for me will replace pluton its again a fire type that can special summon itself if you've revealed an attribute to activate a vs effect and can reveat 1 fire to change the battle position of one monster on the field or 2 fires to search a vs card from deck

An idea for a VS field spell would be:
"As long as this card remains face-up on the field, all face-up monsters on the field are treated as 'Vanquish Souls' monsters. All Vanquish Soul monsters you control gain 100ATK for each face-up 'Vanquish Soul' monster on the field. If a 'Vanquish Soul' monster you control would be destroyed by battle or your opponent's card effect while this card is in your GY, banish this card instead. This effect of [field spell name] can only be used once per turn."
