The tough kid ("Jimmy Plummer") who messes with Early is played by Anthony Kiedis, billed as Cole Dammet.

I’m glad that I found this film. I never knew that that coach was played by actor David Haskell. He was best known for playing Judas in the 1973 movie called Godspell. David was involved with Godspell when it first started on broadway in the early 1970s. He also appeared in K9, The Boost, and was in one episode of Home Improvement. Sadly he had passed away for over 20 years. I enjoy watching his films. Hopefully he’ll never be forgotten. David Michael Haskell. June 4, 1948 - August 30, 2000.

Steve Shaw who plays Early went on to play Eric Fairgate on Knots Landing in 1979-1990. Sadly he died in a car accident in 1990.

That would be illegal. I taught kids in the 1980s, and we were always told that you can challenge a kid to a pushup contest, but you can't force a kid to do pushups. Same with running. You never know if a kid has a heart condition or something that even the kid himself may not know.

Ahhh, the '70s, when girls wore their pants waist around their actual waist instead of halfway down their crack, and boys wore their pants waist around their actual waist instead of down at their knees.

I remember Steve Shaw (Early in this episode), in a memorable episode of "Little House on the Prairie", where he played a young boy that had leukemia, and wishes to see the Pacific Ocean before he dies..."Having Babies", a TV Movie from 1976, was one of his first performances at the age of 11...Sadly, Steve would die at the age of 25 back in 1990 from a car accident...May he rest in heavenly peace 🙏🙏🙏🙏....Thank you so much for posting another fine performance from this talented actor for all of us to enjoy and remember him by ..Let the good TV Shows play on, and take care! I grew up with this series, and thought they were great back in the day.
So, if there is anyone out there with more knowledge about this series, I could really use some help in finding a specific episode.
The only thing I can remember is, it's about a boy who gets hurt playing baseball. At the hospital, his family finds out he's dying of leukemia.
And, NO! It's not the movie "Something For Joey" staring Marc Singer. Which is fairly similar to the episode I'm thinking of. It seems that Lance Kerwin was the boy. But, sifting through his IMDB bio with a fine tooth comb, I can't find it. But, he also stars in several episodes throughout the 70's & early 80's.

      '78 cars that are classics:
Chevrolet Caprice Classic, Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, Ferrari 308 GTB, Jaguar XJS, BMW 633. And there are some more like these in various range in price...I just can't think of them right now.
