Great video, I really enjoyed it. I loved the enthusiasm for such a hallowed place. I've felt the same there. You truly feel like you're walking back in time. I had the privilege of taking Willie Mays back to the ballpark he played in as a teenager back in the early 2000s. We sat in the pressbox for almost 3 hours, just listening to him tell stories.
@MarciaCraytonPhotoTravel It was. I'm trying to put together a video or two before the game next week. but time is running short, and I suck at editing video. ha ha. I have a ton of pics of the park from last fall and some from 10-15 years ago.
Sure did enjoy the story and seeing the two of you so excited! Grew up in a little town east of here so I was interested. Willie Mays died today and just wanted to look him up and came across this. Thanks!
We didn't!! 😮💨 I'm surprised that Al didn't included it on our itinerary. He's been our baseball cruise director! 😂 It is on our list now. We plan to go back to Birmingham in the next few years. Thanks for the info.
This place needs its own UA-cam channel, also more updates on what’s going on with renovations
We agree!
As a Birmingham native, thank you so much for this video!
We lived Rickwood and everything else we saw. We’re planning to go back. We’re not done yet!

We can’t wait to go back!

I thought about this place when I heard the news that Willie Mays died, too.
I just got an old timey wool BBB hat, and hope to get to Rickwood one day!
Let us know if you do!
Awesome video!! Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Nice video!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I hope you got a chance to check out the Negro Southern League Museum. It's a great place and only a few blocks away from Rickwood.

You guys werent by chance the Mets fans we met on the field out there a while back?? I was with Buck Showalters cousin if that rings a bell?
Possibly! It was last July, 2023. Hi!
We were robbed of watching these men compete at the major league level.
Absolutely!
