Season 2, Episode 6 "All Prologue"- Bunk and McNulty drink by the train tracks at night, then Bunk feels it the next day in a meeting with Freamon, Russell and Daniels.
The worst thing about this level of hangover is being surrounded by people who feel fine. Looking at people who have had 8 hours of sleep, who woke up early, went for a run, had a good breakfast and are functioning on all cylinders. While you are sat there feeling like death could come at any moment and half praying for it.
Noticing this is when I realized getting this level of drunk stopped being fun for me. Sure it’s a great time, don’t get me wrong, but came a time for me that being productive and getting stuff done in my day, while feeling ok and being able to focus, was more important and felt better in the long run.
@@steverogers7601 Yea that moment for me came right around the time I hit 30. That's when I noticed it became alot harder to have a productive day after. That's when I said screw that, never again.
The Bunk gets krunk but still shows up to work after getting too drunk, it's ok tho because Daniels knows that The Bunk is still a hunk when it comes to solving murders in a city that is a complete dump. The only time The Bunk sunk was when he had trouble finding Lex near a park playground full of junk, but it's all good because Lester Freeman pumped that investigation full of funk while riding along side THE BUNK!
Been there, too often. There right now lol. A great murder police who loved to take a taste. And he never judged his boy McNulty for being a full-fledged alcoholic, in fact it wasn't even an issue lol
The "you with Daniels and them" conversation at the beginning is so realistic. Typical drunk conversation between 2 workplace rogues who have become buddies.
i think i'm gonna start watching this every time before i drink as a reminder to not drink too much...don't wanna end up with a hangover like the bunk's
Every character in this scene rules, but Daniels might be the best of all... somehow everything he says or does has this really intense moral authority... that actor really knows what he's doing.
You know how something bad happens every time one of the cops on this show use a gun? I firmly believe that if bunk had tried to shoot that bottle, it would have ricocheted off something and hit one of them in the head.
This was one of the best throwing up acting. Alot of people over act it. He showed the full body spasm you get right before lol. I give the others credit too for NOT laughing. 20 years later I still howl.
@YBM2007 agreed! Especially when it gets to that point you have no control to stop it lol. These guys clearly are great actors because idk how they made it through the scene and didn't crack up laughing every time 😂.
This show is almost timeless. The themes of rogues facing off against broken systems, and the rich developed characters will never get old. The stuff with the pagers ages the show, but changing technology is inevitable. What really feels old in 'The Wire' is the small details showing how values have moved on over (now) 20 years. The disregard for safety around firearms as seen in this clip, the casual manor that otherwise relatable protagonists cheat on their spouses, and the consistent acceptance of driving fucking drunk all feel like they would be more at home in a show from the 1950s than the early 2000s
First 1 min 53 seconds was deep. That scene really was great. I still like the one when they were on the tracks and it almost looked like he was gonna get hit by the train, get in or get out they said.
So no one suspects that his sickness might be the cause of withdrawal from other type of drug rather than alcohol? Waw...that is pure obviousness!!! Unless they already knew it was the alcohol. That to me looks like straight up heroin withdrawal yo!

It's a "I'm switching to weed" hangover.
@@teddykgb3865 then after 3 or 4 days, youre back on the drink.
I can't imagine being that hangover at a workplace. So far dodged a bullet

Anyone else on that detail shows up like that, Daniels sends them to medical to dry out.
Bunk was just too damn likeable.

Majin Mexican talking to basically a robot lol
Daniels is NOT happy
0:42-0:56 my favorite moment of the series
Love the look on Daniels face at the end !
Such a great show
lol brings back memories. He should've cleared his stomach and drank 6 raw eggs intact and chewed Bayer aspirin by the handful.
0:46 this is the best
When the wire had a sprinkles of humor.
I've been there, Bunk. You're not alone.
speaking dinosaur like a boss
Also said by Landsman in one of the first episodes.
@badassindo but you never know, you might end up with The Bunks new aftershave, Eau De Pussi.

I guess the Irish curse can be transmitted..
Anyway, how did this two drive home after those drunk scenes? They never show us this..
They did show McNulty wreck his car under that bridge in one scene… couldn’t have been the first time

That’s chronic alcoholism bud...bunk is hammered the whole series solving murders.
The suggestion is that he drinks to cope with all the brutality...
Never touched any drug in my life except alcohol, my hangover was worse than this
