There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who thought that this joke is in binary
Those who thought that this joke was in trinary
Those who thought this joke is in quatenary
Those who think that this joke is in quintenary
Those who think this joke is in sektenary
Those who think this joke is in septenary
Those who think that this joke is in octanary
Those who bored and think that this is a nonnary joke
Those who think that this is a base 10 joke
And people that continue reading after getting the right answer
wow
The joke is trivial and is left as a challenge to the reader
What about hexadecimal? :-)
Stephen Turner (you can keep this joke going infinitely)
Did you hear abt the mathematician who had constipation?
He worked it out with a pencil.
My brain is on fire
: )
Fr😭
This guy can't explain
Actually base 10 cause 10 is 2 in the binary system
HelloItsMe every system is base "10" but since that would get confusing we always make the number after the "base" be in out base 10. It's arbitrary but it gets the point across.
holy shiiiiiiiiiit
I love math and I am pretty good at mental arithmetic so it really surprised me how hard it was to do binary subtraction. Not to mention how hard it is for my computer class to do it. I finally figured it out how to solve my problem by instead of borrowing from the one making 0 than the 0 make 10 than 10 make 1 etc etc etc borrow from 100 or 1000 or 10000 all you have to do is flip all the the numbers. It Works. :) And is faster and less complicated.
Thanks for your selfless service :)
There are 10 types of people - those who know binary and those who don't. :)
😂😂
Blackpenredpen is now The Neverending Story. :)
This gave me a mindfuck and I liked it so much. Can't wait for multiplication!
What are you doing bro ??? My brain is firing

@@blackpenredpen that smiley face holds all evils of the math.
I, at first, converted the numbers from base 2 to base 10. Then I do the operations, plus or minus. Then I converted the results from base 10 to base 2. But the method you have learnt is awesome!
thank you i am a college student i have recently learnedh ow to add 1+1. This video has helped me in my career, now i have made over 1 billion+ dollars...
Thank you, man. This reallly helped me in my exams.
Fascinating
Thank you so much ! I was clueless about substraction and now i'm quite a bit less. Have a nice day :)
thankyou for your explanation 👍☺️
Thank you! this helped so much!
You would have made a great computer scientist. In the 1960s programmers had to program in binary. The 1970s had octal. Now we use hexidecimal. I think we should have dedicated digits for eleven through fifteen instead of letters.great video!
I do this is on my computer class!
My mathematical life has been a lie this whole time
Oscar Troncoso yea.. : )
Multiplication and division please.
Jason Îdo Feldman ok
Only me thinks blackpenredpen is trying to change the regular math we meet into 2 only digits forever?
Thanks a lot this really helped🎉😊
Thanks alot
Thanks❤❤
What about multiplication?
Works the same. Do it out the long way:
___10011
___x1100
________0
_______0_
__10011__
_10011___
__1001100
+10011000
=11100100
In decimal:
19*12=228 Which is correct.
Can you tell how can you get with addition of 1+1. need a complete answer.
this really helped, thanks!
So next let's calculate pi in binary
Can you do a real life(visual or practical) problem that applies this thing you just did now...Thanks in advance.
This was really neat. Thanks.
I want to pose a question here. Why do we call the base represented in this video base 2? I understand that base 2 refers to two digits and makes conversion easy between base 10 and base 2, but imagine some alien species only has two total fingers. They would call their base containing the digits 1 and 0 as base 10, while calling the human’s most common base as base 1010. There would then be two bases called base 10 if looking at both perspectives, one with digits from 0-1 and the other with digits 0-9.
1+1=2,111+101=212,101-11=90,10011-1111=8900
: )
should've said, "if the world only had 10 digits"
I think I prefer to solve subtraction a different way.
101 - 11 = 101 - 011
change 011 ~ 100 (change 1 -> 0 and 0-> 1)
therefore now let's solve 101+100=1001
get rid of the first digit because we are subtracting not adding 1001 > 101
so change 1001 ~ 001 (digit in first position removed)
now all we have to do is add 1 now.
001 + 1 = 10
therefore 101-11 = 10
---------------
11001 -1110 = 11001 - 01110
change 01110 ~ 10001
therefore 11001 + 10001 = 101010
get rid of first digit
change 101010 ~ 01010
add 1: 01010 + 1 = 1011
therefore 11001 - 1110 = 1011
------
the algorithm is if we have a - b where a and b are binary numbers, add extra 0s at the start of b if necessary to make it the "same size" as binary number a, then change all the 0s in binary number b into 1s and all the 1s in binary number b to 0s.
then compute a+b but get rid of the first digit.
after getting rid of the first digit, we need to compensate the 1 we lost for swapping 1s and 0s by adding 1 afterwards.
Which camera and software do you use ?
sanskar kumar MacBook Air. : )
Base 2 is pretty sick. And brpr is pretty sick. Therefore by mathematical deduction brpr=base 2
Teaching elementary math, but with a twist
yup!
Thx :-)
Is that some sort of p.c code?
l + l =
l + l =
l+l =

1-0 equal to in binary addition
is e and pi eligible for binary world?
Nice one, sir. This proof that 1+1 is not two, but one zero. #YAY
"It's not 1 because you're adding more value to it, so the the answer to this is now 1"
What the fuck?
It's 10
btw, I said "this is not 1"
In what grade will we learn this at school?
And this is so confusing to meeeeee will i ever understand it?
Update: stopped the video for a while and looked at it and now it makes sense, but subtraction is harder....
Where do you from?
What is the use of this system?
Computers
I know computers only use 1 and 0, but does all computers work like this?
I learned two at the base :)
In China, we call this the Mailin Law.
Great video! If you end up doing a follow-up video, maybe you could go into two's complements a bit? Should be fun :) Cheers!
Breh
Im doing this topic rn
Im clueless
si
Yaaaaaay
Its just 2 stop trying to convince us to get higher numbers

I. Can. Not understand
