- To be honest, I didn't have any expectations for April Fools when I saw them recycling the Gallagher event on the test server but they sure got me this time.
While the Gallagher event was used again that wasn't the only thing added. Players are given cosmetics[makeup for males and mustaches for female]. and 'happy potions' by the strange traveler. Which can only be used during April first, of course.
The potions are used for what is demonstrated on this vid, characters will dance in the style of another character.
Lann-Evie
Fiona-Lann
Evie-Karok
Karok-Lynn
Kai-Vella
Vella-Kai
Hurk-Fiona
Lynn-Hurk
All of which adds up nicely for some lols.
Another 'joke' was added in the developer's notes that introduces five new main characters for the new mainstream story.

The catch here is that the first paragraph when read vertically says 'April Fools believe it or not'.
Which is disappointing because I liked some of the concepts shown here.
Then again who knows? They might be pulling off another 'Vella' where they throw an idea as an April Fools joke and see how the community reacts. Which makes sense as the illustrations shown here are likely from the batch of actual concept arts of character concepts as they have said that they work on several character concepts at once while one is chosen for actual development and release for each year. Some of the illustrations look like too much work for just throwing out as an April Fools joke.
Other than that, the character styles have a striking resemblance of what many players on forums have been wanting.

Female Two hander [often suggested as an option for Fiona]
Adolescent male caster.
Gunner
Massive character that bears a resemblance to Karok's original concept.
Though in the end this developer's note could still be what it claims to be, an April Fools joke. But it's still nice to have something to dream about.... and see a Karok with makeup doing a Lynn dance..... - Ігри

My only problem with this event is that we can't keep the potions forever. They should be added to the NX Store for 5 NX. And one for each character. I wanna dance like a Hurk!

Awww so its not a permanent feature we could have. Besides that thanks for the link to the dev notes, those characters don't look too far fetched and could actually (one day) be in the game, just like Vella.

Those character's with the big guns probably wouldn't happen. Because we just got a female character, Lynn, I'd say the most-likely one they'd use is the male magic caster... Is his name Hagie or something? I seen that on there. The female great-sword user looked really interesting though. And was her name Delie? O: I honestly don't know which one I'd prefer, but I do think the male magic caster is the one that would most likely used, and I wouldn't mind at all!

+PRVTDickStryker It's not about whether they can do it or not. It's because each class is their own here character. A person with a story. They did it on purpose. Could it be different yea, idk why, i just go with it.
Lollygaggerx The character's stories, save for Hurk, are so ambiguous that their weapon style doesnt matter. Switching around Lann, Fiona, and Kai's weapons wouldnt have that big an impact. Hell, the little piece of text in Mabinogi that pretty much set the basis for Vindictus only mentioned the mercs by number, and some by name, the fact that their weapons are restricted is just mind-boggling.
Really, this is one of the reasons I quit to Warframe. It did this formula much better. Each character can be their own story, with their own, specific powers, but they can use absolutely any weapon they want. Also there are over 20 characters with a choice of a massive number of primaries, secondaries, and melee weapons, on top of pets and the rather recent vehicles. All of this and no BS Nexon pay wall.
