Looks great. Most games targeting young children are not just easy but unimaginative. It's good that they get something high-end every once in a while.
totally agree, great kids game, I almost will play it if it is not because there are so many blockbuster dropped this year.
exactly, it is a kids game, so the lack of appreciation from the older gamers, who largely voice their opinion online, is understandable.
@@theh0lybible if you think that way then it is clear you never own or play a lot of their titles in the past years. e.g. I just name one of them, xenoblade chronicles series, if you think those are kids games then you just have a mental issue, go see a doctor.
@@pencilcheck i never said all their games are for kids, so not sure where you are coming from here.
I don’t necessarily agree that the game leans to a childish angle- I think the better way to describe it is leaning to a casual audience. Which can include kids, yes, but just like saying all animation is for kids is a bit reductive, saying a game like this is for kids is kinda reductive of games as art. Perhaps a small distinction, but one I think is worth discussing in the conversation, since I mean… this video is two adults discussing the game who enjoyed it just fine.
Like, I respect people enjoying more difficult games, and I enjoy a fun challenge every so often, but other times, even as a grown man- I just want a game to vibe with. Chill, cute, casual, any of it as a palette cleanser after a game that made me wanna rip my hair out at points. It’s all about what you’re looking for when you’re looking for it.
You're right, it's not made for children. It's made for infants.
people forget some people have never played a video game before 😭 this would be super accessible for first time gamers, which the switch can reach since it's such a casual family console
I'm really enjoying the game so far, myself. Nice to just sit down and play an easy, sort of gateway game for a change.
Everyone is asking why is Princess Peach, but nobody asks how is Princess Peach.
She’s just peachy! 😊
when is Gamorra
She’s have Italian sausage with the Bros.
I'll do you one better: Why is Princess Peach?
Not as good as the Perry version of the meme
I feel that Pâtissière Peach is already a master by this point after all the cakes she's been making for Mario. All the diabetes.
And Gourmet Guy in Paper Mario. Most important one
I don't care what people are saying. I enjoyed the demo and I'll play the game when I have the funds
The game is a lot of fun, you're gonna love it
I haven’t played it but I loved yoshi’s crafted world and lot of people hated it so I’m excited for the game
I love easy games also, I had fun with Crafted World also...@@jimmyramos7143
Don’t ever feel like you have to play what others are playing. Just play what makes you happy.
I’m excited to play this game… but by all accounts, even completionist is only 15 hrs at $60. That’s a bit steep. Even $45 would be more reasonable. Gotta wait for the rare sale price.
Mario Day sales next year is almost guaranteed, though possibly later this year.
Im just gonna sell it again after playing, then I only paid like 10-15 in sum
I agree, even more,40 should have being the price of this game
Preordered it and it's everything I wanted. Difficulty wise it's on the same level as the new Yoshi and Kirby games imo. It's adorable 10/10 idc about how easy or hard games are as long as they look cute
I also enjoyed the Yoshi and Kurby games. Them toad games are cool to😎
I. Agree with you
I love Kirby games, and I'd say Kirby is more difficult than at least the demo was. This was just too easy.
So way too fucking easy.
@@janedoe3043So? Are you actually wanting to play the game or just complain that it’s too easy because no reason to complain about it being too easy if you aren’t playing it or are the target demographic tbh.
In my best jerry Seinfeld impression “what’s the deal with princess peach….”
Alex you still not dressed as peach what gives 😂
If this video gets 100,000 likes I'll do it.
Somehow.
Somewhere.

Alex, you will always be our princess 👸😎
I'm enjoying the game. Most levels are pretty easy, but getting 100% completion definitely includes some tougher challenges. Overall I think it's a good balance as a game that can be enjoyed by kids but also offer something for us older folks.
Note: Definitely change the controls if, like me, you keep getting confused with the default settings, which use "B" for action and "A" for jump. Switching those two around made the game much more intuitive for me.
One of my biggest issues, is that replaying levels makes you play them as if they are your first time. Why can't I skip the dialogue on my third time through, because I keep messing up the baking section.
@@WolfKnightLukos Yes! I eventually gave up on getting 100% completion because of this. I don't mind retrying challenging levels until I get them right, but having to sit through all the *slow* dialogue over and over gets frustrating.
Also, I swear that baking challenge comes down to luck more than anything else. You can only get the extra two rewards if you get enough of the "special" mixing bowls that mix more quickly, and if you don't have to stand around for ten seconds holding a completed batch of cookies because there's no tray to put them on. I replayed that level at least eight times before everything lined up correctly and I was able to win. Talk about frustration...
Balan Wonderworld Done RIGHT!
is this a joke or serious. cause i'm one of the 2 people in the world that actually liked balan wonderworld. if it's like balan maybe i'll pick it up.
Very much, this and the Psychonauts games do what Balan wanted to do, but much better
I think Penny’s Big Breakaway would be a better comparison.
@@HezakHQYep, really. Balan Wonderland is just bad game design and why you shouldn't aim for controls that are too simple. Glad to find aomeone that actually enjoyed it though.
@@HezakHQ Umm it seems we found 3 people in the world who like Balan. It was frustrating when people released videos sitting on it and it was clear they didn't play a second of it. The lack of jumping was a problem until you realized that was meant to be part of the mechanics.
Me personally, love that this game is easy so my Gf can enjoy it. I used to get angry with games like epic yarn and also say, "games should be enjoyed by everyone" until i met my girlfriend who cant barely jump and move at the same time. New super mario bros is too hard for her, so i appreciate this game
I’m trying to talk my wife into trying it.
@@andytekampe8748 if she has never touched a controller in her life, and 0 eye hand coordination like my gf I think this game could still prove a challenge as I've seen my gf struggle a little, but just a little, id say its the most manageable game ive seen her try, more than kirby forgotten lands (she gets stuck there quite often)
My six year old daughter played the demo yesterday and she LOVED it, and now I’ll go buy it for her - it was such a fun experience watching her play it
Idc I really like it, and I'm glad there is some challenge with things like the rehearsals.
i appreciate this video! i was getting pretty bummed this wouldnt be much fun, so seeing an in depth appreciation of it like this is heartwarming
GoodFeel also did WarioLand: Shake it! Don't forget it!
This discussion is 1/16 the time commitment of the full game
What is funny is that grown men take so much pleasure in a game meant for very young children. It would be like me not understanding why all my mates don't want to sit and watch cocomelon with me.
Why have someone on who hasn’t even played the demo?
You love Princess Peach but does she love you?
Nope she loves Mario.
14:58 Shinobi or Ninja Gaiden.. goodness gracious . Handing those games to a casual gamer or a kid would overwhelm them for sure.
it may not be overall difficult, but it really is just a satisfying game to enjoy ✨
Peach really did deserve another game and Nintendo delivered
I still vastly prefer super princess peach
I wasn't sure if it was worth the price tag at floor one, but by the time you finish? Worth it.
I preordered the game expecting a fun dressup adventure with the mentality of a Kirby game: easy to beat, hard to complete.
I played through the first Swordfighter level, missed a bonus room, had to replay it.
I played through the first Ninja level, missed a star during the auto scrolling segment. I replayed the level from the beginning, missed the same star, and then found out the hard way that there are no checkpoints, "restart" in the pause menu takes you back to the very beginning of the level.
When I missed two stars in the first Cowgirl Peach level, that was the point where I decided I would focus on just beating the levels now, and cleaning up the collectibles I missed later, and that's where I currently am with the game.
that star in the ninja level is driving me CRAZY
i have replayed that 1 level like 6 times and it's right near the end of the level too and SO easy to miss due to it being auto scroll
Yeah, that was annoying
I’m not huge into gaming, but have been looking for something to scratch that itch lately and this game looks like the perfect way to do it! I love everything about this games vibes and it was not even on my radar, so thanks for introducing me to it!
Tbh I kind of wish that Princess Peach Showtime came out a bit earlier in my gaming journey (and didn't cost $60, but I digress) -- I'm just now starting to seek out more challenging games because I finally developed the necessary level of coordination to be able to enjoy them (I was borderline dyspraxic as a kid and it literally took a decade and a half of gaming to develop better coordination). If I'd played it as a kid or even a more casual gamer, it would've been _amazing_ because it was just the right level of difficulty to not be frustrating.
Its a very good kids game my 6yo girl loves it! its easy enough for her shes having a blast!
I have a four year old, and it has been a blast. I have been playing but at times I have pretended to not know what to do so she can feel like shes helping. Before anyone can complain about how easy it is, play the swordfighting rehearsal level. That was one of the more frustrating and rage inducing experiences I have ever had in video gaming.
My 9 year old daughter is enjoying the game so far, her only complain is that the bosses are too easy, seconds after her telling me that she is defeated by the Wild West boss 😅
Difficulty is not the issue, shallowness is. Compare this game to Kirby and The Forgotten Land: both are easy and perfectly suitable for a younger, diverse audience, but Kirby simply has so much more going on
Totally.
I don't play games often really wanting a challenge to be honest (although I don't mind if they are).
Playing the demo for this felt really flat though.
It felt so mechanically limited it doesn't really allow you to mess around with the mechanics.
I'm all for a low skill floor but the skill ceiling is simultaneously so low that the skill room is just a crawlspace. The gameplay experience just felt like going through the motions.
As you mentioned, Kirby is super easy, but there's so much little variety in how you can use each power up. None of these tricks are necessary to finish the game but they allow for a ton of player expression.
Princess Peach just doesn't seem to have much that makes it appealing as a game to me.
And isn’t so easy that it almost plays itself
this might be the first time I'll buy a game on launch day since 2016.
Hope you enjoy the game. 😊
What was the last game you bought?
@@beaner2189 Overwatch
I bought the game.... but its funny how hard they try to sell us the gane...😂
Can anyone answer how long it took them to finish the game? I found myself going really quickly through the demo, and while the challenge level is low, I’m on the fence about if it’s worth the money more so if I’d finish it in two days.
Unbelievable yall didn't talk about the music. So good😊
Sure, it could be way better and deeper but it is charming. Difficulty is really low from what I've been playing but I'm enjoying it nonetheless. However, I rarely have completely cleared a stage for the first time. For the most part, I've had to revisit them a couple of times, or even three times, to get all the 'kirameki' and the ribbon. I've only faced one bonus challenge too, the one Alex refers to at the beginning of the video. That was the first real challenge, yes! I have to repeat like 5, 6 times or more, but it was fun (ps. the reward for this is another ribbon).
Having played both Kirby and the forgotten land and Cereza, this sounds like a similar experience. Perhaps for when the price is a bit lower though.
Well, let’s just put it this way there are games like Dark Souls and games like Princess Peach.
I need a peach souls game ASAP
As you can see, the real deal with Princess Peach Showtime is that they're Mr. Burns' assistant. They're in their early 40s, unmarried, and currently reside in Springfield. Thanks for asking!
Why does EVERYONE forget that GoodFeel worked on the beautiful WarioLand Shake It!?
Looks like a great game for kids. Not for me. I’ll grab it after the generation ends, and I can get it for cheap
I only preordered because of the little Best Buy incentive lol
Thank you for the video I'm going to play it now. I need just a honest fun game and I've never got to play as princess peach.
I’ll definitely play it sometime, but not at $60
I tried the demo and i am not a fan, for me this is very MID gaming for me personally. For a child playing their first game I think they would greatly enjoy it. It's very clear that this game is for super fans of Princess Peach or Children wanting to play games and not need much of a challenge I can see my nieces and nephew loving this game. However for me personally I can't get into it, glad their taking more chances with Princess Peach but considering this is a theater game and Puppeteer is top rank in terms of Theater games for me, this game is very MID to me. Not bad, but just not that great and that ok.
Hello lovely p means people, is the best part in the beginning.
Because it is a great catchphrase, that’s all.
I was in shock about how unpolished ït is. Many framerate issues and the graphics look kinda bad for a Mario Universe game
Why do the rehearsals hide the clock?
The deal is that people have kids, kids play videogames and it's a really good game for then
i appreciate your guys' honesty
I just started and am having a great time
By the way, in Peach's video game she does not get powers, all the powers she has are borrowed from the real actors whom Peach helps rescue in each level and at the end of the game she has to return all the powers to their owners
I really like Good-Feel's games. Wario Land: Shake It and Yoshi's Woolly World both provided a decent challenge for completionists. Not as much the case with Kirby's Epic Yarn and Yoshi's Crafted World but I still enjoyed them. However, this game looks a little too easy for my tastes. I'll at least skim through a playthrough video of it.
"its a WaRp PiPe AaaaaaAhhhh!"
I played the demo and thought it was pretty good. I’m glad they kept the real[girly] princess Peach.
The cake decorating was the most aggravating part of the demo. Making a cake look good irl is hard. But in the game it was worse. 😂
Other than that I loved it.
Not a $60 game though.
I liked the demo and replayed it until I found all the collectibles I could. I plan to buy the game soon.
I don't understand how this game is 'childish' to anyone. Sure, it's not super difficult, but 90% of Nintendo first party IP's aren't inherently challenging. It's not supposed to be a damn souls like. The art style looks like a standard Mario art style, and it's supposed to be a play anyway, so the cutout style on some of the backgrounds makes sense. Why are people so confounded by this game existing? It's fun, but I keep hearing people say 'it's fun, but...' and minimalize what the team accomplished by doing so.
I don't like the fuzziness and blurriness of the game. Normally, I'm not the kind of person who cares about framerates, but the demo was really hard on my eyes to look at.
I don't remember seeing any fuzziness or blurriness.
I give this game a 10/10.. It a huge improvement from ds super peach.
actually i beat the rehersal one try is super easy
Lmfao i was not prepared for that ending
Can Robot Alex tell us what a "sinoffsergeeden" is?
Its a cute little game for the kiddos.
What’s the deeeeal with cornuts? Is it a corn or is it a nut?
The game is pretty fun. If the game is "for kids" because of (I'm assuming) its visual design, then how is that different for Nintendo's library in general? Most of their games feature characters that are very round, colorful, and "cute". Last I checked, Mario didn't look like Marcus Phoenix after all. The visual aesthetic is incredibly charming, and we certainly didn't bash Luigi's Mansion 3 for having a similar world aesthetic when that game came out. Games also don't need to be a white knuckle challenge to be fun. The game isn't Dark Souls, and it doesn't have to be. What it needs is creative mechanics that engage the player. That'll mean different things to different people, but the game is hardly a "press A to win" snooze fest. Just relax.
I've only finished the first floor and a bit of the second, but the game feels like everything I want from a "Mario" game; fun transformations, a goofy boss fight here and there, visually interesting and cohesive worlds, and a fun character to play around with. I'm happy with it.
Very interesting game!
I am sorry but all these games should be as difficult as the original four SMB games. Anything lower than that isn't worth the money to me. Kids don't need easier games. SMB was always beatable and fair. I loved Yoshi but they made him easy mode and the spearhead of killing Nintendo as a challenging game maker.
You could always just pay the bare minimum 1st online tier to get some that old Mario action if you want
I'll be honest - haven't watched the video. But I did buy the game and am probably about 85-90% done (not 100% levels though). Here's a review from someone who's played the majority of it:
It's not too easy, and it's not a children's game (unless you're looking for the most difficult game out there, which if you are, did you seriously look at this game and think this would be that?). Children's game implies that you could breeze through it and 100% it all without dying once from the get go. This is not the case - and I'm saying this as someone who's 100% plenty of games before. I've also cleared 32 heat in Hades, and did not find Celeste to be difficult. Boss levels whilst easy, do need you to figure out what you have to do - I've died a few times whilst trying all the wrong things before I figured out the right mechanic (after which it is admittedly easy). The EX levels required multiple runs to get the gold, and it was very rare that I found all collectibles on the 1st try of a level. The gimmick of each different transformation also lends itself to some very varied gameplay as well which I enjoyed. Some levels are easier than others, but in general I found this game to be on the same level as Kirby and the Forgotten Land which I reviewed to be on the same level as Super Mario Odyssey in terms of difficulty (both of which I've also 100%) when attempting to 100% peach vs just "playing" Odyssey/Kirby's main campaigns. The only thing is that both the Kirby and Odyssey game were a lot longer. I got Peach at >40% off and being able to play on release day itself, I feel that it's worth it at that price only. So many people praised Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and imo whilst Peach's transformations could be said to be similar to Kirby's abilities, the type of gameplay you get with each of Peach's transformations is so much more imaginative. It's certainly a game for those who want a more casual game - whether they're casual players in general or they just want that casual game after a long day of work, and/or want that more chill game for in between those more intensive games as a palette cleanser. An enjoyable casual game (albeit too short). And of course it's awesome that plenty of young girls get Peach in a starring role to be a role model.
Sounds like Nintendo made a good Barbie game.
It looks gorgeous
My kid likes princess peach, may buy but lower price he's gonna be five, looks easy so i do t have to help too much.
$60 for this game should be illegal
Can you deny yourself heart upgrades at least?
Difficulty does not equal fun.
"It makes me want to be a princess."
...Alex, no...weird image in my head now.
Also, dafuq was with that ending? xD
In order to geed in order to geed in order to geed in order t
Absolutely fun!
the game is too short
Games are meant to be fun. May not be for everyone, but there are both kids and adults that will enjoy this game, and others will enjoy other mario games better.
Anyone complaining about a Nintendo game being too easy/for kids probably shouldn't own a Switch
I get the sentiment, but it's not really accurate, a lot of nintendo games historically have been very hard and were not designed for young kids to be able to easily beat
This is a carefully constructed comment
It's too easy to be considerd a game, even. it's like the Yarn games. It's for little girls... you might as well just make the game a gallery viewer to see Peach wearing different outfits.
Mario 64 was also too easy, but it’s still a fun and amazing game with high replayability.
Yup. Just get that Fashion game coming out.
It's easy to be "good" when you aren't doing anything risky or remarkable.
I think having easy games is fine, accessibility is good and game enjoyment isn't always correlated with substantial accomplishment. But everything in this game feels brain dead incredibly simple and underdeveloped, like when watching a kid's TV show and they ask you how to spell "hat" really slowly simple. Not just combat and puzzles, but the plot, bosses, mechanics, dialogue, etc. Its obviously made specifically for very very little kids and was made on a very small budget
And thats fine in itself, but I'm seeing a lot of comments here that are really coping hard for this game and misrepresenting it. The pricing of the game is especially egregious as this genuinely feels like a $30 experience, but besides that it feels pretty lame that Nintendo has made making games for "everyone" synonymous with making games for 3 years olds like they did on the Wii U. Again, if you enjoy this game anyway, that's fine as everyone's got their own tastes. But this is the kind of game (especially when its with an underused IP/character like Peach that ppl were initially excited for) that really alienates a lot of people outside of the super die-hard Nintendo adults or just little kids. Games like Mario Odyssey, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Mario Wonder, Pikmin 4, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Luigi's Mansion, and others dont need games to be THIS overly simple to be popular with kids
Pass daddy, I like the fact that the difficulties lower in princess Peach Showtime, because I don’t want to play difficult games anymore and it’s one of the reasons why I was turned off by games like Cuphead games are meant to be accessible for all skill levels in my opinion games like Showtime fresh air and I refuse to go with that it’s a kids game it’s designed with kids in mind in terms of its difficulty level and maybe a static but I’m sorry I’m a grown adult and I enjoyed playing the demo and I should’ve got to play it today but Royal Mail came late and I had to go to work so now I have to wait until Monday to collect it from my local post office, I’m looking forward to playing it.
My biggest critique on it is that for what is meant to be a game for younger kids, some parts are surprisingly unforgiving. The 2 Reherasls I've done so far are tight calls if you want to get the max score reward, and you have to do it in time WITHOUT being hit once (Not too bad for experienced gamers, but I can see younger kids pulling their hair out on it.)
More importantly, my biggest downfall is the cookie minigames for patiseerie have to be exact. I technicaly scored all three score in the cookie minigame for the second level, several times today, only to not get the third bit for no known reason. I guess it's because the last guys walked away hungry due to timer? I'm sorry, if a game tells me "You have reached the score limit for cookies, you should get all three bits" and then I don't for a arbitrary imperfection the game does not explain to me... that's some bullshit.
And BOTH issues, and collecting missed bits in general, are exxagerated by the lack of a "Skip to this specific part of the level" option, so you basicaly have to play the entire level and cutscenes over and over again to get one thing that should take you moments.
Other then that, fun game.
The rehearsals are optional though and I think they're made for the adults who want a bigger challenge.
@@carrillmunnings525Yeah, it's not an issue unless you decide to go for 100% really. Still surprising to me though.
Let be honest to ourselves, we were all kids playing Nintendo games back in the day, so let the kids have their fun with this game
The switch is really getting long in the tooth
Oh no, a game's too easy? Check your backlog, or go play any of the other games on the Switch. Not every game will fit your style. And that's okay!
I find it disappointing that many reviewers Are having a negative review of this game simply for it's difficulty. They seem to be overlooking the fact that the game is made for children for children Or the lesser less skilled gamer....
I mean, it is basically play itself difficulty.
There’s almost no player input or timing. Just move forward and press buttons.
Hellooo there lovely people
This game is pretty bad. Its biggest problem is it is boring. And the graphics look pretty poor. Compared to Super Mario Wonder.
Fake giantess Peach = L. Should've given us a real giant woman like in Alice Madness Returns.
"I haven't played the demo or the full game at all..." *facepalm*
Listen, here's the deal: the demo SUCKS. Hard. It's barely a game and going "Oh well it's for kids" is a cop-out answer. Kids deserve good games and that demo was trash. HAVING SAID THAT, I'm enough of a fan of the concept and what I've seen in streams that I'm buying the game anyway just for the fantastic animation and personality behind it, but I am absolutely worried about it because of how trash that demo was. But it LOOKS like it has more GAME to it post-demo. Really bad demo though.
As a sidenote, some folks say this was made by Good-Feel who made Mameda no Bakeru (Japanese-only kinda Goemon-ish game) which was also too easy until you get like 20 stages in. So there's that.
Game is worth $20
"It's really tough. It's really fun" Sir, those two are completely opposite.
Pink nightmare
Fun for kids, kinda boring for me.
