I’ve been producing beats for a minute and know most everything in your video. But I must say this is one of the best videos on UA-cam for beginners getting into making beats. You demonstrated almost every technique one needs to make beats in logic. Good job, wish I had seen this a few years ago.
I really appreciate that. I try covering as much as I can about the basics in a short time so everyone can get the most out of each vid. Thanks for tuning in🙌
yooo I love your videos, you have no clue how much you've helped me, thank you. it is so hard to find good producers that use logic and I finally found one; please keep making content because you're helping me a lot with my music!
Bro you’ve helped me so much with this video. Lol I’ve playing music my whole life but beat making frustrates me but this right here helped me figure all the things out, I appreciate you 💯
I don't how to ask this. But what did u do to get all those kick that you dragged on the base track and filled all space up? I'm stucked on that like real big. Are u able to explain please?
Are you asking about how to fill the space by extending the note length? Select all the notes, and hit shift + backslash To drag the kick track down, hold Option + Click and drag that kick track down into the bassline track. That way, all the 808s / bass notes will hit at the same time as your kicks because they're the same patterns. Then you can adjust the 808s pattern to your liking. Hope one of those answered your question.🤝
@@OneMoreMo i don't really have a based opinion on the sequencer (only used it a handful of times). as long as it gets the job done, i support whatever works best for you. i just used the ones in this video because they've always worked for me! thanks so much for watching and for the question.🙌
quick question, what do I do if the sample that i like is at 62 bpm and I want to make something that is 130 bpm. I tried stretching it and it kinda fucked the sample up. I am a beginner so I dont know jack shit about this
that happens sometimes with time stretching. If you're going from 62 to 130 though, its better to cut that number in half. Change it to 65 instead (half of 130) so that the OG sample is more preserved and not nearly as distorted. then you can work at the same BPM. if you'd still like to go crazy with it, you can add some reverb and fx to try and mask the distortion as much as you can. then add instruments over top / underneath to back up the melody. hope this helps!
Help pls, when I go from 1/8 to 1/16. My notes are not spreading like yours in the piano roll. What i'm i doing wrong/? I'm only new to music productions
i actually think i just zoomed in and trimmed the ends of those hi-hats if thats the part you're looking at (6:07) they look spread out but i just shortened each note and zoomed in. try switching to 1/16 or 1/32 and create some rolls w/ the brush tool to test out the speed of each time signature though
I switch my audio output on Logic to "Telestream Audio Capture" and configure my recording software to record my computer audio. It took me a few tries to get it working
ALERT ALERT!!; BEFORE YOU GUYS MASTER THE BEAT AND ADD LIMITERS MAKE SURE TO MIX YOUR BEAT FIRST. IF YOU DONT MIX THE BEAT IS GOING TO SOUND HORRIBLE WHEN YOU TAKE IT TO THE CAR. TRUST ME
^^^ yes make sure to take it easy on the limiter. i used it very loosely in this video, so make sure your leveling is consistent before you slap that limiter on the master track. hmm - i'll just make a new video about mixing & "mastering" beats. stay tuned!

is there a reason you don't use the step sequencer for your drum patterns? great video, thank you!

how do you stream logic and get audio? do you use loopback?
