There’s nothing disappointing about being realistic with money, you’re not making a club bankrupt because you’re unsatisfied with ridiculously high wages already
Jamie was also asked a question and he answered. Mo doesnt need to say all these in the media all the time, he did same last time when the club didnt want to break the wage structure but they did it 4 him anyway. You are even more deluded if you think Salah has no knowledge at all of any talks going on, and thinks LFC have not reached out, and have ignored the situation. He is playing a game to get what he ultimately wants. I want the club to keep him, but Salah knew what he was doing yesterday. It's targeted pressuring to get the outcome he wants. Whether he decided to do that, or his agent asked him to. That was choreographed, as was the shirt removal. It's all sending messages upstairs.

well, Carragher forgot to mention, it takes jurgen klopp 4/5 years and a mo Salah to win the premier league. he also forgot to mention, after Daglish and Souness era, liverpool were 30 years without winning the league title. Carragher forgot where actually Liverpool were. well maybe, Carragher doesn't think that 30 years without league title as terrible, due to he himself involve in large part of that dark era. with Carragher kind of mentality, i am not surprise why previous liverpool always collapse and failed multiple time to cross the finishing line. in fact, many times they are not even in Champion league. Carragher is the epitome of the reasons of past liverpool failing so much. the fact that he put Gerrad (who did not win the league title) above Daglish, Rush, Hansen, Souness, hunt said a lot of things about him.
There's no reason to be disappointed in Salah tbh, this is classic Ramy (Salah's agent) tactics. 2 years ago when Salah's contract was about to expire and negotiations were ongoing Salah straight up said that it's his last year at the club during a post match interview. This obviously wasn't the case as he signed an extension a few weeks later. It's all just negotiation tactics. I'm usually not a fan of players strong arming clubs into contract offers but in Salah's case, I don't blame him. As an LFC fan, he deserves every penny he can get. Hope the club and him reach a mutually beneficial agreement soon so that these contract talks can be put past us. This is shaping to be an important season and contract drama is the last thing we need come the latter part of the season.
Mo Salah was never selfish. He was always so helpful and sincere to the club. I wonder , was Jamie Carragher talking about Salah !!!! Salah did alot for the sake of Liverpool.
Jamie's leaving out that Liverpool hadn't won a title in 30 years until the likes of these aforementioned players came along. Klopp no doubt had a huge hand, but look at the Yanited's, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham's of the world, even MCFC, you have to have world class players. Liverpool won't fall apart, but they may have a lot of years that look more like Chelsea, Arsenal and MUFC of the last 10 years, than winning the league again if you let too many players go. Plus fan apathy can set in if their most beloved players are having Ballon D'or type years and you just let them walk.
I think Jamie forgets what he said in 2010 when he wanted a new deal at Liverpool. Let me just remind the viewers: "The club will give me a new contract if they want to. Carra conveniently ignores the 30 year wilderness in the PL. There is a lot more competition for top players now than there used to be. The Klopp era was the first time in decades that world-class players wanted to stay with us. Gerald is homegrown so he was an exception. Does he want us to go back there and be happy when we get another world class player every 5-10 years?
Run it. FSGOut. Never back the managers when they need it most, never want to keep the best of the best players, always come up with an excuse for the nonsense they apply to this club. Embarrassing, enough is enough. Liverpool FC has outgrown FSG, get out
I think that a player like Salah has performed and is still performing wonderfully. He has won the league. He has won the Champions League. He has won the Cup. He has won the Club World Cup. He should be respected and appreciated by Liverpool. And this has not happened yet. Why do you ignore renewing his contract until the end of his contract?
He isn't being selfish. He was asked questions regarding the contract situation and he answered honestly. All the fans want to know what is going on with the contracts. FSG are tightwads. Had they backed Klopp a bit better he would have won more trophies. Take Salah out of Liverpool and it becomes a top 4-6 team at best. Spent 80 million on Nunez and look at him. Not even a fraction of the player Salah is.
Jamie needs to be empathetic. Bc you are retired doesn’t mean you’ve forgotten the politics of football when you were a player. The player has been loyal and the most consistent player in Europe for many seasons. That’s why the so called big teams get the better players, bc some clubs think they are “selfish” Give him what he wants. If he leaves, some of us may leave as well. 2nd best team in the league and loosing a player like Mo won’t fly anymore
Jamie so damn, yeah the man should think for himself. Why he can't do that? Because he is from Africa? Give Salah what he needs he has done a lot for the club.
Where can he work? Just curious in your cancel culture head of yours, if he got fired, would he be allowed to work at TNT, NBCS, in an office, in a shop, in a factory?? Where can he work after doing something he regrets?? Just wondering??????
Someone has tapped him to speak like this, if he wants to go, then get a price, if he sneaks out without a price, that's the boards fault... As good as he is, he is always extra 🔥 when contracts are in play... never liked that about him
Salah rightfully deserves at least a big 2 years contract with LFC, based on his performance and what he gives to the club as a player and a legend on the pitch and an icon. Every team would love to have an icon and a great player on the pitch, it brings more to the team, and that's what no team in the world at the moment have, so keeping Salah for at least 2 more seasons is crucial for the club. If LFC didn't renew his contract, he will get it somewhere else, but I'm sure that Liverpool will struggle for some time before they are back again to the competetion.
A selfish Salah is the only player who has publicly said Liverpool needs to win the league and has backed it up with performances. He can do whatever politicking he likes as long as he keeps winning games for the team.
Speaking the truth about the security of his family is not selfish it is just speaking the truth that is all that is. Liverpool, the business, is not the most important thing. The important thing is what the business does to the people the it uses to make money with.
If winning the title is the most important thing for LFC then keeping your best player at the club and happy is a big part of achieving that. Same goes for trent and virg. You cant go on about wanting to win without securing the services of the people who actually do the winning on the pitch. Nothing selfish about the comments either from Mo. Just saying it as it is and basically putting pressure on FSG to make a longer, better offer. Lets not forget the man has a say in his own professional future, especially going into the later stages of his career. Playing some of his best stuff too. All part of the " negotiations" that statement was to speed things up. Probably told to say something by his agent.
The issue that we have one icon - we have three all headed to the exit. That is a massive loss. Massive. Rips a huge chunk out and very very difficult to recover from for a while - especially as it sends a message that LFC isn’t a place for world class players.

I remember what Ronaldo did at Real madrid for contract renewal and other player at that level, it is normal. Not selfish, God knows what offers he is getting at the moment from all over the world
No Jamie, shut it! FSG and it minions are selfish. There won’t be any title without Salah goals and assist + Mo wants to win the title more than a ex mediocre player like you. We the fans are all disappointed. $10M spending in summer on a ghost and they won’t sign a replacement for Salah. Probably just will bring back Doak from loan
Being too much and too long with Gary Neville have affected Jamie’s thought process. Mo already won more for and with Liverpool than you ever did Jamie. He is a Liverpool legend, you are NOT!
So Liverpool doesn’t want to pay Salah 40 million salary over 2 years with weekly payments of 350,000, but they’re okay to buy another player to replace him and pay the same amount of money or more upfront plus his salary, I honestly don’t get that.
Carra is right, the fact people thinks that they should be dictated to by someone who could be making ridiculous demands really shows their mindset Fans are the first ones to call clubs out for being greedy but are fine with individuals being greedy…. works both ways
Carra hates salah h's right but salah selfish.. score 90 salah the best Liverpool player ever because numbers... If he selfih now salah in barca at lest psg give him 500K what a shame i wish salah stay focus..
I don't agree with Jamie here. If Salah was truly selfish, he would have just stayed quiet, signed with another club, and moved on. The fact that he’s speaking to reporters and taking the time to express his desire to stay shows that he genuinely wants to remain at Liverpool.
The most important thing is to win premier league, guess what how you win that most important thing, with the most important players, guess who's one of the most important players, Mohammad Salah Common sense!!!!

"Winning the Premier League is more important than any of those players..." Nope, not to the players. They themselves are the most important to them. well, you are light years too late with this 'brilliant' conclusion, Captain Obvious. The media always reacts with rabies to anyone who speaks their mind and goes against the mainstream tide, and in football, we have seen it over&over again, in one particular case! We have one big star player who is consistently speaking his mind, he is not pro media/PR trained at all, because he is just always brutally honest and not afraid to speak unpopular things, and that's Cristiano!!
And how do the media react to him? Calling him selfish all the time, making up lies about him, and using the whole false narrative around Cristiano, for years now, painting him as a villain!! Which, btw, is nonsense if you actually care to follow Cristiano, know him better, and read actual, solid sources about him.
But the media don't give up, and even when their lies about Cristiano are exposed, they still bash him every single day, call him a selfish egomaniac, etc, meanwhile, Cristiano is proven right almost all the time - case in point: Ten Hag at United.
But the media still only make up the 'controversies' and click baits about Cristiano.
And you know why the media does it? Because the public, the consumers (of the media), the fans, YOU - support this! Instead of, for once, supporting someone speaking against the mainstream and the media, most football fans bash these honest players too, joining the blind hate, and that's why you don't have more players like Ronaldo, speaking their minds & and not caring if everyone loves them or not!! Because the attacks come 24/7 from all sides, the majority of fans included! The media would also not have the same power in these situations, had the fans stopped supporting their nonsense and propaganda. But you people prefer the media for bitter, false clicks and views, over these few honest players, so there you have it!

well, Carragher forgot to mention, it takes jurgen klopp 4/5 years and a mo Salah to win the premier league.
he also forgot to mention, after Daglish and Souness era, liverpool were 30 years without winning the league title.

We all know liverpool are desperate to push the numbers down, unfortunately it's salah and he's probably worth what he's asking for.
Carragher is just another old man who thinks it’s ok to treat Mo with so much disrespect!
The board are waiting for Salah's drop in form.

Being too much and too long with Gary Neville have affected Jamie’s thought process. Mo already won more for and with Liverpool than you ever did Jamie. He is a Liverpool legend, you are NOT!
Shut up. You obviously haven't been supporting Liverpool that long. Think about what you are saying.
You don’t support Liverpool, earn some money yourself instead of hoping other people earn it you wasteman
As a liverpool fan. F JAMIE CARRAGHER. I genuinely dislike him how he talks abt our players
So Liverpool doesn’t want to pay Salah 40 million salary over 2 years with weekly payments of 350,000, but they’re okay to buy another player to replace him and pay the same amount of money or more upfront plus his salary, I honestly don’t get that.
Value your legends...don't disgrace them
Salah is bigger than the club. Give him the contract
LMAO what a stpd comment
No he's not Liverpool is bigger than any player that's played for the club.
Carra is right, the fact people thinks that they should be dictated to by someone who could be making ridiculous demands really shows their mindset
Fans are the first ones to call clubs out for being greedy but are fine with individuals being greedy…. works both ways
Carra hates salah h's right but salah selfish.. score 90 salah the best Liverpool player ever because numbers... If he selfih now salah in barca at lest psg give him 500K what a shame i wish salah stay focus..
Should just stream the pre-game & post-game (once the game is over) for Monday night football free on UA-cam.
I don't agree with Jamie here. If Salah was truly selfish, he would have just stayed quiet, signed with another club, and moved on. The fact that he’s speaking to reporters and taking the time to express his desire to stay shows that he genuinely wants to remain at Liverpool.
The most important thing is to win premier league, guess what how you win that most important thing, with the most important players, guess who's one of the most important players,
Mohammad Salah
Common sense!!!!
Gerrard over King Kenny? You must be joking.
Mannnn, just shut up! We need him more than any club in the world. He’s a 7S wonder-No one in Liverpool’s history has done what Mo has in the number of games he’s played. the clup is always number one, I know, but the F club needs good and top players like Mo.
Hell no the EPL n UCL you are talking about is these players who have been holding the team and the welfare of the players is important too
Wanting to stay at your club is selfish? Sure mate....
Literally didn’t say that but ok
Why can't they offer him the same wage that's he's on now? Why does it have to be a pay rise? 350k is fair for a 32 year old.
Salah being disrespected isn't a surprise, he at this moment has all the right to speak out, he is quality and has been for so many seasons, so you must pay him.
"Winning the Premier League is more important than any of those players..."
Nope, not to the players. They themselves are the most important to them. Only as long as their interests are aligned with Liverpool's interests they will agree with Carragher. That is capitalism. Not a great economic system, but no one seems te be willing to replace it with something better yet, so we are stuck with it for now.
