Anybody with competency at a free legal clinic like that can't be fired immediately or at all. Quitting is in their best interests so leverage is limited.

well, there is in small companies your boss it's often just a man who gives you gigs/tasks/cases and has a bit of power to raise you, demote you or fire you, other than that it's just a colleague who you can argue with, who you can laugh with, have a beer with ofc you can draw a boss or super like louis and he'll see you only as his subordinate but as we can see mike is not that case

My thoughts exactly. She's not a lawyer, they aren't "her" cases. Even at a law school clinic, a student still cannot try cases without supervision which is usually a professor with barred attorneys to help. This scene would never happen in real life. If it were a legal aid clinic etc., this student would be gone.
You can tell it's a TV show for entertainment purposes only and not to educate people on how the legal world works because no one in the world would ever talk to their new supervisor in this manner.
I can't imagine anyone acting like this towards their superior without being canned, or at the very least written up. This blatant disrespect and insubordination towards' a superior's legitimate questions is extremely poor form.

@@Rushinator1 He probably won't fire her day one, you are right, but I've yet to meet any organization that has use for people who are arrogant and hard/impossible to work with. That sort of attitude makes you a problem, and sets you up to be the antagonist to everyone you meet. That sets you up for being show the door.

I loved this Mike working for the little guy learning to be a boss and mentor. I got irritated when they threw him back to Harvey. Yeah their interactions were fun and quirky but i'd rather have him back on the ground like he wanted.

Im not a huge fan of binge-watching shows twice. Even though I do that with movies all the time. Suits and Friends are the only shows I'm down to Binge-Watch, arguably Franklin And Bash I'm also down to binge-watch.
As others have pointed out, this is not how real life works. 20 years back, I interviewed with a company for an internship and they asked me what I like to work on and what I don't. I said I like AB and C. Dont like X,Y and Z. Got the internship with promise to give me "AB and C work". First week no work. Second week, they give me XYZ work. I said, "but that is not what you promised me". Next morning, my badge just stopped working.
I talked to my boss like that, I'd be fired real quick. Also, she reminds me of that girl Stephanie Patel from S7E6. Who is a first year lawyer, who gives attitude.
I don't know if I'm the only one but I didn't buy Mike in a position of authority. A little for his one and done teacher role and that's only because he was taking on teenagers. Considering how long it took for Harvey to reach his level of success, the show tried too hard to push Mike forward before he developed believable maturity.
This show may or may not be the reason why I got into trouble with my supervisors at my apprenticeship. Needless to say, in a real job you don't get away talking to your boss like that, even if you do in fact know what you're doing and don't need help
This sounds like a charity, where people are literally paying them to work there, for résumé bullet points. In that case, what will they do? Been too long since I saw this episode and the ones surrounding it to be sure, though.
Maybe in Law school they teach them to become lawyers way better than a one that has years of experience, but in the IT, the students are still students. And you can tell a student from one that has 1 year of experience. :)
everyone taking Mike's side on his interaction with the snotty law student, BUT, he did assume she wasn't including any "legal foundation" instead of asking her what her legal foundation was. and instead of asking if she has "backup" he just says he hopes she has some. he made multiple assumptions about her work instead of asking questions. so he's not completely innocent here.

Hardman, the rich guy were enemies Harvey made. Mike just helped him get rid of them once for all. Without Mike's help, Donna would be fired for real, Harvey would lose his best assistant. Without Donna, Harvey would be easily overwhelmed and fell on the trap Hardman set, be kicked out of the firm. Without Harvey, Jessica would have no her best partner, be losing of the firm

This depiction of "big bad tough girl bosses" is pure cringe, he professionally asked about case she obviously had problem with and missed court date and she thrown tantrum like small child. Person responsible for hiring writers should be fired, it is not sign of strength and maturity act like kid and be passively aggressive sign of strength and maturity is ability to acknowledge there are people better and smarter then me and be able to accept help. In real world she would be fired, she is toxic and for sure not irreplaceable.
