Watching all you youngsters with all the different planners for each task in your life reminds me of back in early 2000’s when the Franklin Covey planners were all the rage. I bought myself, and my then collage age children the full set up thinking it would help them with their studies and school work since it was geared towards college student. And the one I bought for myself would help me keep track of all the personal, home maintenance, etc. I used mine for about 6 months, and found out neither of my children used their’s at all. That was when I stopped with all the planners. I was in my early 40’s back then.
I now use the Galen Leather Everyday 400 page notebook in A5 size for my journal, and an inexpensive dot grid hardcover journal for my budget and all things home related and 2 small TN style covers for field note sized notebooks that I keep 5 small notebooks in each. The first one is for all things pens 🖊️, fountain pen inks, and paper. The second one is for my UA-cam channel notes, my personal ink swatch notebook, and 3 notebooks for my creativity journal. I’m retired now for 2 years and don’t need all that fancy stuff anymore. Give me some good stamps and a pad of nice ink, some washi tape and some nice rub on stickers and I can decorate my journal and I’m a happy Nana. Thanks for sharing love.

I love that for you! It’s funny, my mom gave me a Franklin Covey too when I was in college. I STILL HAVE IT! I’ve always been a journal/planner person. And you’re right! It’s not about what you have, I can probably get a composition notebook from the dollar store and it’ll do the job. But for me, personally, I have to find joy in the things I use, otherwise it’ll just sit there. Thank you for sharing your perspective. Always appreciate it!

This was really fun to watch. I hope you one day find your unicorn planner. Mine would probably papertess B6 yearly notebook with all the months in the beginning and no trackers or goal setting, because I couldn't care less about those.
Hope your system works well next year. Thanks for sharing this video.

Thank you for watching!! That means a lot! Yeah, I definitely downsized for 2025 and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I guess around June, I'll post an update for a mid-year check-up!

Hey, nice video @Papyrologisms! Clearly, I need to start adding more flair to my journals/planners. Yours are so great, they make mine look utilitarian.
I just posted a video on a similar theme. One you might want to check out, and I just learned about myself and have switched to, is the Wonderland222. (Not affiliated with them, or anyone else for that matter.) No clue about the name, but it has all of the spreads I used to spend hours making in my Traveler's Notebooks. It just works. I think the paper is Tomoe River IIRC. Maybe check it out. (I'm giving away one of the W222s in that video, btw.)

@@AuthorsReserve just like you, I started with blank and made my own pages with markers and even watercolors! Then I transitioned to stickers then finally went to a legit planner. Never looked back! 😂😂 oh and the flair part actually plays a role in my planners. There’s always a hidden meaning in the collage I make. It’s tied to a feeling or what I’m writing about that day. And it does give your page a little bit of umph. 😁 thank you for watching!! Let’s both keep doing what we do and share this nice hobby!!
