People get suprised every time, but sparrows always act like that and Happy is no different. Little, feisty and snuggly birds, they are highly intelligent and they understand human emotions. They are precious.

Birds are sooo much cooler than dogs. You also might like Bearded Dragon Lizards too, they're like mini scaly puppies. They're loyal, they're highly intelligent, they're extremely sentient, they're spiritual and they're full of personality! My beardies come to me when I'm sad or sick and my male beardie one time actually licked away my tears. I don't need a leash when I take him on walks, he just chills on my shoulder. He's also kind to his mate, he sleeps with her, eats with her, they watch movies together, they also watch out the window together. She'll just lay on his back, or he'll put an arm on top of her like they're cuddling. I also have a baby bearded dragon, he loves to have piggy back rides on the female, Keelo. Gizmo, my male licked him when they first met, chilled for a bit, then Gizmo lost interest and walked away lol
The more these kinds of stories are shown the more difficult it is to justify the terrible way our society treats animals. A little bird like this shows such an amazingly complex relationship with this woman and it's clear the "only big brains = intelligence" bias must be reassessed.

I love this story. I have raised a lot of kinds of birds. Some I had to turn into the humane society. They are very loving and they'll think you're their Mom. You get attached and so do they. When babies. You have to feed them around the clock. Sometimes I miss them. I can see you are very loving to your bird. He is blessed and so are you. Wonderful little story. 🌷
WOW, they live like 20 years?!?! I have a robin that follows me around when I work in our yard. It's been almost 20 years. I have always assumed it's a different robin, like son of the son, etc. Maybe it's been the same one all this time? This isn't likely as I just looked up their lifespan, two years. This/these robins hang REALLY close by, enough I could touch them at times.

Most likely it's parents pushed it out of the nest, realizing that it would be unable to survive in the wild with it's disability. Nature can be harsh, no doubt. Only by chance that the woman discovered it prior to it's demise. Perhaps it was meant to be, eh? 🙂

When I was 12 I also took in a featherless sparrow. But he was healthy so as soon as he could fly he took off without saying goodbye or looking back.
