Santana and Mercedes' runs and harmonies were amazing also, as usual.
Fun Fact:
The song was delivered to PJ Bloom before it was even released and known. The disc was given to him by John Janick from Fueled By Ramen. Originally, Bloom didn't want to break the track as Glee traditionally covered existing successful songs, but once he listened to it, he immediately sent it to Ryan Murphy, and they covered the song in "Hold on to Sixteen". The Glee version immediately was a hit. So once the original version released, Fun had a flood of popularity on the spot for their album "Some Nights" and "We Are Young", and this was great as their first album was very indie and down where no one batted an eye.
So if anyone says Glee ruined the song, without Glee's version, you wouldn't have the song and the band have nearly the popularity it has currently. So be thankful. :)

I really think, and I don't know if you'll agree with me, that Glee should've ended in Season 3 because it had the best characters, episodes, songs of them all. The first 3 seasons were full of what Glee was truly about; friendship, love, understanding and most of all music. It should've ended with Rachel going to NY and then a time-jump to see every character post-Glee life, maybe a two part finale would've been awesome. That's how I would've ended Glee, the Finnchel wedding, Kurt and Blaine together, Brittany and Santana together, Mercedes as a solist, Sam as a coach, Will as coach of a new Glee club, Sue as the president of the USA, Tina with Mike, Artie as a director, all of them had great character development so they could've done a better work they did in S4 to S6...

Glee's version is good, I don't know why people always complain about Glee. I mean, the show itself has its weak points but their covers use to be good.
Use to be good? The covers are probably the main thing that's remained consistent on Glee in terms of quality.

This is my favorite Glee cover by far!! The harmonies are beyond phenomenal! This is definitely the best cover of this song. In my opinion, this version is even better than Fun's version.

this song makes me emo. it always gives me a nostalgic vibe. Glee, the show in generals makes me emo, because of the beautiful story and theme of family. No matter what, the characters and their emotions will always be real, because I had felt so much watching this one show.The numerous times I've cried watching this show and the amount of times I used the character's plots to reflect my similar life. this song + glee = a very emo me. :(
