Ok thanks, well I'll probably get the Will James sticks for orchestral playing. I'm in a youth orchestra and these suite my needs for light playing. Thanks!
@Eric Scherer Are they good for basic rudimental playing? I have the nick petrella 5 Granadillo and playing rudiments are okay but there's not enough weight in the shoulder. Also, I looked up Will James' sticks and they look beautiful. But, my only concern is the weight and diameter. For me, I enjoy 0.660 sticks, but 0.614 is a little bit small for my taste.
@Eric Scherer Can you tell me more about them? I'm thinking of getting rosewood sticks and I was originally getting the Graham C. johns Granadillo sticks. However, these sticks are pretty cool. Can you compare them to other sticks ex. Cooperman?
I personally am not a fan of the cooperman sticks. They just seem to be way to light for me. Same thing with vic firth's sticks. I have used just about every type of concert stick and unsatisfied with most. The only other stick that I like to play with are James Campbell's from innovative percussion. Will's sticks feel pretty similar in terms of weight but have a slightly smaller bead and bead shape. This makes this stick ideal for my playing, delecluse etudes, and orchestral excerpts. Will James really made a great stick! I don't think I'll ever switch. Additionally, after I got mine several grad students here also picked them up and love them as well. Hope this helps! Eric
Yeah. Theres an undergrad in the studio that has them. It sounds like it exactly what you're looking for. A little heavier, bigger bead, and works well for a lot of rudimental style drumming (ex: mudra, new-thaan, Pratt). Heavier sound. I'm still partial to Will James for lighter playing though (ex:delecluse, kije, Schumann 3, etc.).

Will James Signature model form Malletech. They're amazing. Definitely worth the money!

If you want something heavier and for more rudimental style of playing, Bob Becker's sticks from Malletech may be more your type. Hope this helps!
