It would be different because the blending would look different. In illustrator you would resort more towards using gradients.

Dont know if you'll see this but when you move the vector over to photoshop how do you save it? And does it stay vector when working on it in photoshop. New adobe user here, thanks for the help!
I save it as .eps file ^^ And nope, it becomes raster :)

I use photoshop for colors because I prefer more painterly feel when I'm coloring 😉
