So glad I’ve seen the league 1 years as a Sunderland fan. Now we’re on the trajectory we’re on seeing us in that low of a position was really humbling but also it should how far we’ve fallen as a club and how much we neglected the premier league years
Absolute class mate, at least you actually were sympathetic and weren’t one of those dons who took the piss out of us for little to no reason. Thanks brud 🎉❤😂
Villa fan here. Would love to see sunderland and sheff wed back in the PL where they belong. 2 historic and traditional big clubs unlike the plastic oil clubs of city and chelsea.
Football fan from Finland here. Its nice to see that a legendary club like Sunderland is doing littlebit better again. Atleast they are far from tier 3. I hope they will get back to Premier League one day!
Class video mate. Its great to see someone go over our great history as so few people are aware of just how big we were in the early days of football. Hopefully we can get back to wear we belong soon. HAWAY THE LADS!
Why mention the mags takeover, couldn’t care one bit if they have new owners and billions in the bank. Safc fans have our club back and the city, fans, players and owner are once again all pulling in the same direction and singing off the same song sheet
@@petercrann1551 who cares? Every club that forced the rule that sponsors can’t be of the same group just after the takeover happened. Big time managers like klopp that complaining that there’s new money in the game. Every fan who says that newcastle bought there spot in Europe.
@thewrldsgame I always appreciate a good Sunderland vid but geese, you missed out 90% of their history including the 1940s-50s when SAFC were considered the richest club in England, and referred to as the "Bank of England Club"..... then their most successful recent period under Peter Reid where Kevin Philips scored more goals than any other striker in Europe, winning the European Golden Boot, something which no other English player has achieved since and SAFC finished in the top half of the premier league for 2 consecutive seasons..... if you have the time to add those bits of history it would be much appreciated!
Appreciate your comment, wanted this video to be relatively short so wasn't able to do as much of a deep dive into the history as I'd have liked to, however those topics sound interesting and I may do a follow up vid at some point
@@thewrldsgame Thanks for your reply. I think for any Sunderland fan, they are going to expect those topics to be in a synopsis of the club or it is not going to be treated as a serious record of their history. Plus you will gain far more shares with the relevant positive information and not just the last 10 yrs of soap opera...
@@chrisc990 Appreciate your constructive criticism, will certainly take that on board and perhaps with a good start to next season it would be something I could turn into a video, cheers
When we were relegated from Premier League I was upset and gutted not to play the big boys, when relegation was confirmed to League One I cried and blamed the owners but that euphoric win in 2021 edition of EFL Trophy I cried I knew things were looking up

If big Sam stayed I'm sure the club would be in the PL still problem is big Sam relies on long ball and his signing philosophy is bringing in experience which isn't a problem but not good for the long term. Sam should of managed England and Sunderland.

Most of the season you were mid table. Fact (between 10th and 14th) you only went up a few places in the last month because teams between 6th and 10th all bottled it (like Arsenal in the PL) you only reached 6th on the last day of the season. And that was because Millwall blew a 3-1 lead at home
@@philipnapier3585 Even if those clubs bottled it, we still had to take advantage of their slip ups. So over the course of the season we more than deserved a top 6 finish.

Chelsea hopefully getting replaced
you can add newcastle into that list of plastic oil clubs now.

So true
They are rising once again, nearly getting promoted in their first season in the championship since 17/18, I really want them to return
We are the club that will never die
Sunderland will always end back up in the premier league sooner or later. The clubs infrastructure is geared to do it.
Top video. Sunderland til we die 🔴⚪️

Would have been more aptly named the Fall and Rise. Quite a lot missing from this video but overall decent output.
Missed out the years Peter Reid had with us
1:28 fun fact we still have streets named after parts of Roker park
I mean the stadium the park Roker park is there
Didn't even mention the time under Reid
Cheer up mate 😆

Yeah strange mention at the end, couldn't really care what the murderers are doing.
Grow up hard man ...S.M.B. CLOWNS 🤡 ..

Absolutely meant iconic 🤣
They were known as the bank of England club once.
