Many doesn't realize, Da Coconut Nut might be the most important BINI song. If anyone paid attention in watching the documentary, this song was the unseen hardwork that fully developed the team's chemistry, especially on their dance. This song set them up for their future success. A piece of bread might not be the most glamorous meal you'll ever have. But if you're stuck in a desert and that's the only food that'll be the key for your survival, then you'll thank that piece of bread forever in your life. Just embrace the cringe, even my toddler niece plays this song on loop, maybe adding 1m plays on Spotify. 😂
@@JipperGwapito Yep, Da Coconut Nut is a legendary Filipino novelty song (shout out to Mr. Ryan C). Whether you're a Gen X/Gen Y kid in the 90s, an internet meme addict person in the 2010s or a BINI fan in the 2020s. Though it'll be more hilarious if only BINI version included this line. "Now the coconut fruit, says my relatives... Make good cannonballs up against the thieves." 🤣
Well, Da Coconut Nut hits differently after the release of the first chapter of BINI Docuseries. 🥹 Like, there's a deep story behind that very hyper song. Aaaaaaaa I'm not crying, are you? 🥹
Pit-A-Pat is underrated as hell and I will always love it. Da Coconut Nut is written by one of our National Artists for Music, Ryan Cayabyab, who has written a lot of songs that are important to the Filipino music canon. Something to know as well is that we have a long history of novelty songs. The point is just to make silly stuff that sounds good. The other thing to know about Da Coconut Nut is this was basically their $10 and a dream music video. I think Stacey's mom and their coaches helped them put their outfits together and then they had to improvise some shots because it rained unexpectedly. I know the fandom will have mixed feelings about this song, but I have a soft spot for it. BINIverse actually had them wearing the white tops with the flower logo and you basically have to watch that segment of the concert to find out what happens because it truly is a full-circle moment.
This is actually a revival song from a 90's group here in PH (Da Coconut Nut by Smokey Mountain), if you listen to it, you'll know the big difference. I definitely recommend reacting to Da Coconut Grand Biniverse Concert it's gonna blow your mind with how it transitioned to...- you're gonna have to find out, cause I don't wanna spoil it HAHA
as you can notice in pit-a-pat's choreography, they incorporated a lot of Filipino cultures and a lot of kid's games. 3:48 - that hopping is a game kids used to play call 10-20 where the players will hop in between a garter string 4:00 - a game we call here Kick-Open-Side to Side 4:04 - it's giving hide and seek here 4:16 - around this section, since you didn't see it full, in their practice video, sheena did a vouging move which she ATE! and the whole section from 5:18 all the moves they were doing are inspired from FILIPINO FOLK DANCES! :) and the hand gesture in 6:19 - it can symbolize a fan which symbolizes that they are Filipino Lady (Binibini) because Filipinas in the old times used to use a fan a lot. I hope you can watch the dance practice of Pit-A-Pat, they are insane
Isn't the dance move in @4:00 the "Tinikling" dance? @4:04 was that game where in kids sang something while forming a circle wherein the "taya" is in the middle and spins around covering his/her eyes to pick the next taya randomly, forgot what its called. D*mn I'm old XD The dance moves in Pit-A-Pat seemed like a fusion of folk dances and childhood games here in the Phil.
BINI was even invited to perform DCN in Ryan Cayabyab's bday concert earlier this year. Ryan Cayabyab is a famous composer, musician, and conductor, basically one of the pillars of OPM. I think that is why BINI's management decided to have BINI sing a rendition of the song that he composed for the famous 90's band, Smokey Mountain.
back in 2023 before bini blew up, they held a bini fest with a few hundred blooms and let me tell you, we jumped, danced and screamed when coconut came up. I personally went feral for da coconut nut.
trivia: DA COCONUT NUT is a 0 BUDGET MV they shoot it in the middle of the pandemic and the network ishutdown also the white top they are wearing was actually created by Stacey's mom
The reaction made me apprecite Da Coconut Nut! This is probably one of your iconic reactions. I love it! Thank you for loving Bini!! Now we need more Bini videos please :)
19:53 Actually their manager said their target concept for BINI was RED VELVET like. Adding to that BINI was also vocally trained by their korean coaches with red velvet songs.
Well, you mentioned it already! During BINI Fest, they performed a mix of Pit a Pat and Da Coconut Nut for their LAST PERFORMANCE. IT WAS DAMN CRAZY !!!

Also, the deep dive has been amazing. The fact that it was ended with this is so accurate. So excited with the next Bini release. I think its November or December.
Funfact: 10:01 I learned from one UA-cam reactor that this song is a popular children song somewhere in Europe 😂 She knew the lyrics and was singing along, it was a pleasant surprise cos it was written by a legendary Filipino Composer
I was laughing hard with your reaction to Da coconut nut. 😂😂😂 but it’s so genuine. But since the beginning they are serving especially the sharp movements, sybchronization and the feel good vibe ❤❤❤
"It's giving educational for children" had me crying LOL. Love how ya'll were so hyped for Da Coconut Nut, they truly had two coconuts and a dream. Also ya'll weren't wrong though about it being a banger with kids when I visited my relatives in the philippines this summer my 9 year old cousins were eating up their songs
Pit a Pat quirky choreo 5:22,5:34 - they got inspiration from an 'Igorot dance' - a traditional dance performed by the Igorot people, indigenous groups from the Cordillera region in Northern Luzon, Philippines. 5:43 looks like 'Fandango sa Ilaw' - a traditional Filipino folk dance that involves balancing lighted oil lamps (ilaw) in graceful movements. It is derived from the Spanish fandango but has evolved with local Filipino elements.
the choreo in the last part of Pit A Pat is actually a traditional dance of the native tribes here in the Philippines... so a big 🤙 eyy to the choreographers for including it❤❤❤
in the DaCoconutNut dance practice, it is easy to not notice the (already) very synchronized dance and complex choreography because the "silly" lyrics of the song and the corresponding gestures grab one's attention. They said (in their docuseries video) that they practiced this for 9 months (!!!). And yes, this sort of captures the essence of Bini. In any case, I was laughing with you guys, in tears - what a great reaction.
I just have to share that da coconut hits hard for me since this was the song in the biniverse concert where they went over to the audience and maloi performed right in front of us. Like literally 5 inches away AWNDHAIRJ I LOVE DCN
The coconut is really an iconic song!!! If your 90s kid you must somewhat hear and know this song!!! This is a really fun song i had seen orchestra and choir version of this and its really good so im really glad they do a revival of this but they so brave and bold to do it for a debut but somehow smart cause most filipino know this song..
Da Coconut Nut was a novelty song of the 80s in the Philippines written by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab and sung by his co-ed youth band Smokey Mountain. BINI used it for pre-debut and gave it a new flavor because of its quirky lyrics and catchy tune.
there were a lot from our culture that was incorporated into the pit a pat choreo. that part towards the ending is actually a folk dance. glad you guys liked this song. 🫶🏼
It started with a summer song, then a brand new summer song introduced BINI onced again. You guys should also watch the Da Coconut Nut x Pantropiko on their BINIverse concert, it was the best!
Ha, this is my fiurst time seeing the pit a pat video, and nostalgia overload. Tons of nods to Filipino childhood games. Not to humblebrag or anything but I was pretty good in some of those. The second half looks like nods to traditional Filipino dances. My clkass did tinikling in 4th grade and I still remember how much fun it was.
Da Coconut Nut really is a kids song originally sung by a 4-member Filipino teen group the Smokey Mountain back in 1991. It was such a hit that it is still a popular piece for choir competitions all over the world.
Da Coconut Nut is originally a song from the 90"s Filipino group Smokey Mountain. And I was young when the original was launched and loved it. Now being a bloom hearing Bini remake the same song I enjoyed way back in a fun way makes my inner child alive again.
DCN is written and composed by one of our national artists, Mr. Ryan Cayabyab and the original version of the song, sung by the Smokey Montains is just as iconic as BINI's! The song also has some cultural/national importance to it, because coconut is one of the Philippines primary export agricultural commodities!
It feels like I am having an out of body experience watching it with you guys. 😂😂😂 I performed this song (the original version) with my siblings to family gatherings when I was a kid that's one of the reason why some are repulse with this DCN version as it is a novelty song made by a Filipino national artist.

I do agree with them that this song is very very special! When i heard it, i almost danced while on a scooter/motorcycle. 😭 It also the homage to one of our songwriter. I really liked the ending formation also.
I appreciate these two songs. For those people under comments, Yes we have opinions if we don't like it or you don't appreciate it. A lot of comments i see that they don't like it because it's too far away for bini's concept. But if you back track the whole story and chapters of their pre debut preparations, guys you will appreciate their hardwork. The management at that time were trying to catch what will fit for bini's concept, style and songs. So don't just disregard that they put alot of efforts on their pre debut. It's on their youtube chanel on the making of Da coconut nut mv. Guys you will appreciate their efforts and the team. So cut the negativity here. Peace ❤ btw Love you both kess and han thank you for appreciating our bini 😊❤
Funny how you mentioned that "Da Coconut Nut" should be in the encore, and yes, it is indeed part of BINI's encore along with "Pantropiko" during their BINIverse concerts here in the Philippines. Thank you for appreciating "DCN", as not many do. You should definitely check out a fancam of their Wish Bus performance of "Pit A Pat" to experience vocal flexing, especially the rap part of this song 😊🥰

Both of you watching and loving DCN and Pit A Pat in spite of them being weird and cringey truly affirms that you're both definitely blooms. What a fun reaction! I enjoyed it.😂😂😂
Ngl BINI had me at Da Coconut Nut when they came out w this during the pandemic. It also coincided w the original singers (Smokey Mountain) and composer (Maestro Ryan Cayabyab) making an updated Zoom collab. I had these two on loop to cheer me up at that time 😅❤
OMG I love that this is your reaction to Da Coconut Nut! It's probably been said before, but it's actually an old novelty song here in the Philippines, hence the silly lyrics. But despite that, their release of this song was a huge win for them because they were against so many odds. It was after the network shut down, and in the middle of the Pandemic, so the management had very few resources. They had no stylist, makeup artist, no costume budget, and all that stuff. They actually made a tribute to this song in their BINIverse concert where they transitioned from this to Pantropiko; from the song they started with to the song that skyrocketed them to success. You should 1000% watch the BINIverse DCN/Pantropiko video, it's 🔥🔥🔥 (and look for the Day 3 version cause there's a 🔥 moment between Colet and Maloi lol)
Another thing, if you look at BINI’s logo, you will see that there’s a coconut in the letter B. That’s another reason why Dacoconut is so important in the BINI lore
idc what anyone says, i LOVE pit a pat and the fact that they incorporated childhood filipino street games and traditional folk dances in the choreo. i hope y'all watch the dance rehearsal in one of your next reaction vids!

HAHAHA CUTENESS OVERLOAD DCN +PIT A PAT😭❤️
The best bini reaction so far 😂🫶🏻🤙🏻
Maaaa’ams you’re the only ones that were able to make me watch Da Coconut Nut!

Ngl BINI had me at Da Coconut Nut when they came out w this during the pandemic. It also coincided w the original singers (Smokey Mountain) and composer (Maestro Ryan Cayabyab) making an updated Zoom collab. I had these two on loop to cheer me up at that time 😅❤
fun fact whenever they chant "B-I-N-I B-I-N-I" it actually spells "Binibini" (young lady) which is where their name BINI is derived from.
the only RIGHT WAY to react to da coconut!!!
You guys make a fair point. DCN is like Nmixx's "Hey Gabby" 🤣🤣
you guys are my fave Bini reactors, i always wait for your new releases, and congratulations for being featured in the Born to Win Bini Documentary!👏🤙
This is one of the encore song of Bini in Biniverse before the final song Pantropiko.
You should 1000% watch the BINIverse DCN/Pantropiko video, it's 🔥🔥🔥 (and look for the Day 3 version cause there's a 🔥 moment between Colet and Maloi lol)
absolutely! my 4 year old daughter sings this song after hearing it one time! 😂
it’s a very catchy song!
It is indeed a catchy song, I can't get over it tho😂
spam blooms "kinikilig" and "8" reaction
I don't care what anyone says. DCN is one of their most Iconic song. It's a cover but still. I love it. ❤❤❤
3, 2, 1, shout!!
Hahahaha!!! This is the most hyped I've seen the two of you for any BINI song!!
I wanna see them perform this now and the same energy! They perform this but more shy version
It's giving Baby Shark 😂
da coconut nut was actually their concert encore song together w pantropiko! :)
I can't stop smiling... I've been singing the Da coconut since I don't know when.. I so love it ❤
I'm so happy 😁

Best reaction ever!!!!4 the Coconut Nut Mv. Thanks Kess & Han❤❤❤ I enjoyed your reaction to this because like you I love the Coconut Nut they were so cute back then.
To add, DCN is not their original. it's a modern remake of a novelty song.

Also, Da Coconut Nut is a rendition. For reference, this is what the original sounds like: ua-cam.com/video/kdX8GTKLcTk/v-deo.html
Da Coconut is here to stay. BINI's lore will not be complete without it. Loving it is confirmation of a true Bloom 😊🤙🍒
