  • In this video I share with you how I created a 009 narrow gauge model steam loco body from scratch. No kits were bashed or harmed during this build!!!

If only I could one day have one like it. That little locomotive. He/She could be a great new addition to the North Sodor Railway backup engine fleet.
Say, Jason, You could make lots of money making kits and selling them. As someone, who at the time of Writing this Comment, is taking an Economics class, I Highly recommend that you turn that little box tank engine into an actual kit and make real money with it. You will be able to do more modeling with the money you make with selling that little Box Engine as a kit.

Good to see you back and on the mend! I've several friends who've had, or have got, Covid and three or more friends with Long Covid. Go gently with yourself 👍😊 Great modelling as always👍👍😊😊

Great little loco. I do wargames in 1/285 scale so to add to my senic railway stock you inspired me to build about 6 of your locos

    Another superb build Jason!
Have you noticed, when you do a lot of scratch and kit bashing that everyday objects seem to regularly catch your eye for potential reuse on models? 😉😁. I end up collecting lots of bits and bobs and saving for parts - even if it's to build up a stock of items over time. Small metal clips, washers, tubing, springs etc. I might pick up a Bic pen for example and think *Hmmm* 🤔.
Those lead airgun pellets - I'd have "potted" them using a liberal squirt of hot glue - they'll never come adrift after that?

I know exactly what you mean. Even my work colleagues are now trained up to leave bits and pieces on my desk that might be useful for a project!

Absolutely brilliant build.... would be good to get some plans and your camera sorted - would make a great "build with me" video .... master weathering !

This looks fantastic. Inspired to have a go myself.
I have Kato 11-105 double chassis l have been wondering how to use. Maybe something in N gauge. Thank you for your content, always enjoyable to watch.

The use of stills works very well. Invest in more trains not video equipment.

Great bit of building and love the cake theme. May I ask what chassis you used for the two wagons? Fancy a dabble in 009 and this is giving me ideas.

Excellent build. Just interested to know how you managed to convert the N gauge couplings to 009 ones?

Thanks for watching. I actually retained the standard N gauge couplings that were attached to the Kato chassis

When you say 'chassis' is it a motorised chassis?

Hi, thanks for for watching. I’m afraid this Loco’s in storage at the moment so unfortunately I can’t measure it. If you use the chassis size as a guide the loco body is no longer than that but wider to give it a he look of a narrow gauge Loco.
