The problem with using a dark car with black wheels is that you can't see any of the beautiful design. Dark colors absorb light and make it very difficult to photograph. They should have brought a lighter colored car with silver wheels, since this is basically an advertising feature for Aston Martin.
A few years ago I went into a Starbucks that had a beautiful Aston Martin parked in front. A man was stilling in the shop having his coffee facing and staring at the Aston Martin. Obviously not just a pleasure to drive but also to look at. This made me chuckle but at the same time say why not since it is a car that makes me stare at it too. A work of art. I'd say a good rule of thumb is that children dream of Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and adults dream of Aston Martins. I remember being a kid growing up and watching my first James Bond movie where he ripped around in his Aston thinking it was the coolest car ever because I had never seen anything like it and then moments later I saw the Ferrari F355 spyder racing along with it and that then became my dream car. It took me nearly 15 years to realize that while the Ferrari was an amazing and cool car it was obnoxious and didn't have the class and luxury of the Aston, there's something just so cool about driving an Aston. Yes, a very good explanation of polar moment of inertia. Then I ended up musing to myself that Corvette started using the rear mounted transmission on the C5 in 1997. And before that, Porsche used the same configuration on the 928, 924, and 944 series of cars.

I love that they use their formula for F1 cars, and apply them towards their road cars. And ofcourse the fact that it is hand built in the country of origin!
It's funny he gives this demonstration right after I was wondering that exact thing, if it's 50/50 does it matter WHERE the weight is, moment of inertia who knew
Dan Haapala, I fell in love with Aston Martins in 1965 when "Goldfinger" came out. Then Playboy magazine did a road test on the DB5 and reported 0-120-0 in 23 seconds. I stopped looking at 0-60 times from that day on and wanted an Aston Martin.
- ok, let`s open the trunk - that`s the booth - now, let`s see what is under the hood - it is a bonnet on the Aston Martin - It is so light, is it made from aluminum - It is actually made from aluminium. i love this guy
I love the way they used the air intakes on the side directed to the boot lid for a spoiler effect. That's so ingenious. I can't believe I've never seen anyone else do that before. An internal spoiler or air brake. Very smart
Terrence explained the weight factors so well with those dumb bells and outstretched arms,,...now I fully understand how this car is so nimble in handling at speed; it just makes sense to build the car with it's engine rear of front axles and transmission forward of axles. What a simply beautiful marque this is, it always was and will be, my dream car. How could you not, but the car after a test drive with Terence Jenkins! (P.S. The 'edit' was done to correct the spelling of Mr. Jenkins' name.)
In a world of SUV's, lost artistic foresight, and suffocated originality. I've always automatically been attracted to the sheer beautiful yet powerful look of the Aston Martin, Jaguar, etc. It's so simple the car almost draws itself.
"Exercise is my middle name" Jay said jokingly to the factory rep, identifying another aspect of our like and appreciation of Jay; that he is like us - middle aged and older with a middle spread and over, 'dad bods' the lot of us.
Aston Martin just makes the best looking cars at the moment. DB9 is still one of my favorite looking cars ever. No one comes close when it come to make cars this sexy, and Aston has in my humble opinion never made a truly ugly car. Just breathtaking...if i could only own one car in my lifetime....it would be an Aston Martin.
The tires are the most important aspect of any vehicle. It is where all the input and feedback goes thru, from the road to the driver and vice versa. It doesn't matter how much horsepower, how aerodynamic, how visually appealing, how comfortable, how much of an icon. When you exceed the coefficient of friction of the roadway in any given weather, the tires and their materials and tread design are the most significant aspect in keeping the vehicle on the road pointed in a safe direction. The tires are the first and foremost safety devise.
I Love Aston Martins color schemes! This one is fantastic! Dark and luxurious, and it has cylinder deactivation just like in my 2017 Chevrolet Camaro RS! I love the turn signal how the entire light design illuminates orange. If Aston Martin has a sunroof or some kind of sunroof feature this will jump up some spots on my super car list to purchase.

I've always liked Aston Martin for all the reasons that Jay talked about. Luxurious and f'ing fast cars. (:
This is one of the car brands that represents me. A nice luxurious comfortable interior, comfortable driving experience and if I want or need the power... it’s there.
And then it breaks down…
Jay: Is the hood aloominum?
Guy: It's Aluminium, yeah.
Jay: You don't have to "Khhh"
Guy: Yeah, you don't have to slam it. Lol
The hood (bonnet, in British) on Jay's Citroën DS21 is also a large Alum. stamping.
Mian Cowell : English spoken by a native speaker. 😉
@@PVAPPE He lapsed into "American" a few times, he clearly has been that side of the pond for a while, Most obviously "Pro cess (UK) Pross ess(US)
The Brits say and spell it aluminium.
Beautiful looking car !!!!!!!!! Thanks for showing this Aston Martin DB11 AMR , Mr. Leno !!!!!!!!!
Wish my wife could sew like those ladies at Aston, she patched my trouser knee and now it looks like Frankensteins neck and leg is an inch shorter.
YOU DON'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO SEW?
Lmfao 🤣
Thank you for making me laugh...I needed it
Then why get married?
I couldn’t even imagine having a wife that would fix my trousers. Lol
I'm in love with this car.
A great interview with an informative gentleman and a marvelous, sleek automobile. Thank You, Jay!
Supercut idea - Jay Leno saying "Pulls very nice" and lane drifting.
He always lane drifts 😆
- ok, let`s open the trunk
- that`s the booth
- now, let`s see what is under the hood
- it is a bonnet on the Aston Martin
- It is so light, is it made from aluminum
- It is actually made from aluminium.
i love this guy
Aston Martin has never made a car l didn't find attractive.
You must not have seen the DBX yet.
@@xenonram l like the DBX. It looks better that the Urus or the Bentayga.
The golden ratio working its magic.
Lagonda.
Have you seen the Cygnet yet?
that's a refined, world-class vehicle. Good representative for the company (the gentleman).
If jay likes it you know it’s good.
I love the way they used the air intakes on the side directed to the boot lid for a spoiler effect. That's so ingenious. I can't believe I've never seen anyone else do that before. An internal spoiler or air brake. Very smart
This is a very beautiful car. That color was dope. (the yellow brake shoes though ) ;)
One of the best looking cars I've seen, thanks for the review Mr. Leno.
"Exercise obviously is my middle name." - Buff Jay Leno
Glad to know Aston have been reading the comments. And applied it too
Amazing work from Aston Martin!
Classy and powerful coupe!
Terrence explained the weight factors so well with those dumb bells and outstretched arms,,...now I fully understand how this car is so nimble in handling at speed; it just makes sense to build
the car with it's engine rear of front axles and transmission forward of axles.
What a simply beautiful marque this is, it always was and will be, my dream car.
How could you not, but the car after a test drive with Terence Jenkins!
(P.S. The 'edit' was done to correct the spelling of Mr. Jenkins' name.)
I think this is the first video jay didn’t mention his “400hp viper” 😂
Still mentioned the F1 though :)
Waaapo “There will never be anything over 400hp, this is it!”
Or his McLaren 🤭
In a world of SUV's, lost artistic foresight, and suffocated originality. I've always automatically been attracted to the sheer beautiful yet powerful look of the Aston Martin, Jaguar, etc. It's so simple the car almost draws itself.
Keep up the good work, Jay!
This car is so gorgeous
Very surprised that Jay hasn't got one of those yet!
Like he needs another car... LOL :)
@@Spazik86 that's why I'm surprised as he's got just about everything else!
Give him a week or two
@@PatOD75 some private automobile collections are never seen, I'm glad Jay likes to share his knowledge and collection!
"Exercise is my middle name" Jay said jokingly to the factory rep, identifying another aspect of our like and appreciation of Jay; that he is like us - middle aged and older with a middle spread and over, 'dad bods' the lot of us.
9:17 *_oof_* Has someone kerbed that wheel?
Glad I'm not the only one to see this. Can't tell if it's a glare or curb rash
@@PicassoonNovocaine Not glare. You can see it again at 22:18 when the car is moving.
Man they better not mess with your car delivery. Good catch tho.
Weight reduction to reduce rotational mass.
Never change, Aston Martin. Never change.
"If you want one, I know a guy!" lol ... what a great video!
Stunning car definitely my lottery win wheels😍
This isn't a car you buy to trade this is a car you buy to keep and drive and love
9:18 ouch!! but than again this would look better with silver/gunmetal wheels anyway
Haha i noticed that too🙈
Right...I really hate that black look. Looks like cheap stamped steel.
My Jaguar XK8 purrs. This bad-boy roars!
How beautiful is it when JL was driving it out of his garage at 17:49 ?
I will have an Aston Martin just like this one.
Same!
Good luck
Yes. It will come in a small box with 'Matchbox' written on it.
@@_._._._._._._._ No sir. I will get a real genuine Aston hot wheels.
Jay Leno casually namedropping all the cars he owns. :D
He does that a lot ! All part of being filthy stinkin rich...but he deserves it.
My question is why isn't this driver their CEO. He clearly loves the cars and knows how to sell them.
That's not quite the role of a CEO.
Aston martins are SUCH unique cars. Gotta love em.
