    Thank you Linda for putting these wonderful videos out there. Last week I put in my 30 days notice as I moved in with someone for 5 months. I'm moving back in to my car.. Never again will I live with anyone. Maybe a Motel if need be but, I missed my freedom. I turned 66 myself this past April and I am ready to live the Best Year's of My Life!!! You are a Blessing.
    Thank you .🙏

    Thank you for continuing to take us along on your journey. Congratulations on 40k subscribers. I just finished a 10 day canoe paddle with friends and family in a really remote area. We basically were in a primitive wild area with no cell signal and days and miles between places that even had potable water. It was wonderful, but makes me so thankful for all the convenience of vehicle travel. Thank you again for taking the time to create your videos. Blessings ❤🙏😊

    Linda, Your content is good. Congratulations on getting 40,000 subscribers. It is of recent becoming more dangerous for those of us traveling aone. I no longer overnight at rest areas. I make my drives at night and sleep mornings. Go see do in the afternoon. Make diner plan my next drive and start again.

    • @SereneandSimpleLife
      @SereneandSimpleLife  5 місяців тому +5

      I don’t believe it. It is becoming more pronounced because of social media.. think about it.. thousands of people visit rest areas, stay overnight and we hear 5 stories ( just a number I picked) and all of a sudden they’re not safe.. thank you social media.. (sarcasm) how many people are robbed and murdered in their homes? I just can’t live with fear and stop doing something I enjoy because I’m a “single woman”.. God knows! And He puts His hedge of protection around me because I walk in faith and trust Him! Thank you Jesus for your amazing gift of protection. I understand bad things happen to good people.. I will continue to trust Him till He takes me home. Doesn’t mean I won’t be vigilant of my surroundings and use my God given intuition but I won’t live in fear and stop certain actions because to me that is succumbing to exactly where the devil wants us to be.. afraid to navigate like we use to..

    Lifes work ❤ and yes you have the ability to do so and that is a blessing in itself because not everyone can work❤ now I've been a full timer for 14 years and I did work very hard for many years before I became disabled and I have been patiently praying and waiting to have a home base I'm about the same age as you are so with my situation I really do need to get out of this full-time as it is a lot of work as many say it's not always joyful😂 right now the heat is on at 9000 ft up by the lake am I suppose it's the best place for me to be while I wait for that date August 1st and my storage is over by Palm Springs I just have a few things in there for 8 years that I just could not part with❤ and the seats😂 I'm surprised they haven't deteriorated in the past 8 years we shall see I do have insurance. Like you I lead a busy life and I keep God in it 24/7 I'm doing the handsome Creek on UA-cam you may want to check that out it's a natural outdoor with horses sermons and bible studies in the group is growing out there in Kentucky❤ okay one thing is I can barely hear your audio right now and I have my volume all the way up Linda okay so I'm really enjoying watching your growth on all that you're doing however I do hope you're going to be able to just take some time out and just breathe❤ meantime back to waiting till August 1st what am I going to do with utilities after 14 years of going without and flushing toilet oh my goodness. God bless you along the way Linda❤

    I had a metal shed and we had to build a floor to set it on and anchor it to or you can do concrete. They don’t seal well so bees & other insects can easily get in plus mine you couldn’t stand up in it without hitting your head also if you get heavy snow they’re not as strong as a wooden structure. In fall the acorn’s would ping off the roof 😂

    I was under the impression the "working" and saving was to support the tiny home build. Now that you have that, why are you back on the road. I know this same situation happened with the last tiny home. Please try make peace with just being. Activity doesn't define you. Allow yourself to be free and learn to grow in your home.

    • @SereneandSimpleLife
      @SereneandSimpleLife  5 місяців тому +8

      By your judgmental comment I’m not so sure you are really following/listening about my journey or being open to understanding what I’m doing. “I know this same situation happened..” 🤷‍♀️I do not have an endless stream of income, I do look ahead, plan and set goals. I’m interested in living debt free at this juncture of my life. I own an older vehicle. I don’t share my personal finances here as I would think you would not share yours either if you had a channel. I like working and thank God every day for the ability to do so. Life is precious and I find treasure in every day.. so much to go see do and I ask God to use me all for His glory.. not sit at home. Wonderful opportunities to stretch and grow in the great outdoors.. make new friends with very interesting lives of their own.. I’m “living life large” in God’s masterpiece. God bless you in all your endeavors and in the things that make you content.

      Linda's cottage is her HOME-BASE. I cannot imagine Linda ever being happy sitting inside of her cottage just peeking out of the window for the rest of her life. She works a job as needed. She smiles the most when she GO-SEE-DO in her VAN-Home. She is at peace doing what she loves and planning for her future is wise. Maybe you would be even more content watching Homesteaders or learn to travel to new places making new friends. Come to think of it homesteaders take trips to visit friends, festivals, meetups, events, vacations, etc., Maybe your point of view is not for Linda. Sounds to me you are trying to convince yourself to be content while allowing life to pass you by. If you are still able to go on adventures try it. You just might like it. Don't wait for permission or others to go with you. Just test the waters.

      12 states no longer allow overnight stays at their rest areas. 3-4 hour cap on parking to rest in those states. Restrictions now in place are changing what van dwellers and other mobile nomads may do in those 12 states. Google it to see the list of states enforcing the restricted stays at their hwy rest areas. Sure puts a crimp in the plans for travelers using the state operated rest areas 😢

      @@SereneandSimpleLifeOh wow, I was totally on your side about the danger warnings and wanting to live free until you called it fear mongering. Horrible stories of people, mostly women, who go missing on road trips are very real as those of us who follow such stories know all to well. Where is the fear monger? I personally wouldn't attempt a road trip without a gun at my side. I'm not so silly as to think it couldn't happen to me and, sure, THE ODDS are that it won't...until it does. And I'm sorry, but unless maybe if you live in the hood, will you be robbed and hurt in your home. It DOESN'T happen everyday in "good neighborhoods" AT ALL..in fact, it's extremely rare which is exactly why we CHOOSE to live in nice neighborhoods..to DECREASE the chance of a crime happening, right? It's not fear mongering to post the stories that are out there as a warning or to express one's fears about the wickedness that exists "out there". Like it or not, you DO take a risk as a woman traveling alone on the highways and in rest areas without any way to defend yourself (ASIDE from God) should a sticky situation arise. You HAVE been very lucky and blessed that it has never happened and I hope it never does but to call it fear-mongering, that's kinda odd, to be honest Facts are the facts. Bad things DO happen to good people because evil lurks everywhere. However, it's very rare that it happens in a nice home in a good neighborhood. Just saying! Lol That said, road trips are fun so I get that part too.... Safe travels!!
