    About this piano lesson:
In this guided lesson, professor Bidini and cellist Marc Coppey have a conversation about different musical aspects. One of the first topics discussed in the masterclass is the quality of sound on the piano and the difference between dynamics and color. Professor Bidini explains that color can only be changed through the use of the left pedal. He also discusses playing music that was not composed and intended for the actual piano, but for harpsichord or pianoforte, and how to adapt to that. Using all the possibilities of the instrument and finding the best combination between fingers and pedal requires a lot of practice and reflection. Therefore, when asked if it is useful to study without a pedal, he says that his method is to study with the style in which one is going to play at the end, but slowly, in order to find the sound and the mood one wants to express from the very beginning.
