Ambush is one of the many entities from the Doors Hotel and I believe everyone should know more about this amazing character. He's known for his soulless eyes and terrifying scream. But luckily Ambush can be outplayed by going in and out of a closet at the perfect time.

As of the Hotel+ update, the lights *don’t* flicker when Ambush spawns. Now, his distant scream starts out louder, before quieting down (probably in case he spawns in a room with windows/rain)

there is also another cool fact about ambush's jumpscare, basically when you die to him you might notice that each time you die to him there is a different tone,this is because he has an infinite ammount of tones and each time you die to him it will randomly generate a tone and play it.

To avoid Ambush, you need to go into the direction where the raycast isn’t in bounds of the player. You cannot hide straight left or right. Maybe not backwards. Vents are considered a safe space by the game and the staircase is not straight left, right or down, it is midway so that’s why.
this is somewhat true. what ambush does is that he sends rays IN ALL DIRECTIONS, except up and down. so its like a circle of waves, not a sphere. the reason you cannot die on the staircases is cuz you arent in the circle, but if you aren't high enough you will die.
EDIT: woop, turns out that ambush sends out rays in a sphere. So what i said still holds true but its random chance basically, when you hide on staircases, ambush could or could not get you, however, with the new update, im pretty sure that ambush will get you regardless

For me Ambush only comes at the 80’s. That means the solution is to get the crucifix at Jeff’s shop and when u get close to the 80’s hold the crucifix. Be careful for the other entitys because you might use the crucifix on most likely dupe

The reason why you must wait to revive is because you can only revive once per run.
then it would just tell you that you cant revive more than 1 time per run
before typing something in the comments without knowing it go do some research...
you just need to wait until ambush is gone.

Bassically how Ambush's hitbox works: what SpookSter described as "Line of codes" is Ambush's line of sight. So if Ambush sees you, your dead. Which means if you hide behind something so that Ambush cant see you, you can survive.
Places you can hide in:
Vents(sus)
Basements
Behind the desk in offices
Behind closets in specific rooms
Closed stairways

No it's not hitbox, it's raycast
Basically, ambush cast a invisible line on a player
It makes a lot of sense why Ambush doesn’t open doors, since Rush doesn’t backtrack like Ambush does then Rush just rushes through all the doors and de-spawns a while after. Since Ambush backtracks then it wouldn’t make sense to open Doors and keep going as it would just be coming back anyways (I hope this made sense….I tried my best to explain this as clear as I could).
i think this is because when rush opens the door he falls into the void and if ambush opened the door same thing would happen then he couldn't rebound

1:00 I can confirm. This happened to me once when I was playing both the other players died. He appeared on door 5 I thought it was really weird bc then I had eyes three times in a row after that. Besides that pretty normal run though the beginning made me think it was lagging or something bc it had never happened to me before

I can confirm that ambush and rush have his difference because just look a part at the light flick clip part ambush light flick is more longer than rush and he is the fastest monster also ambush is gonna come again around like 1-6 times and its very annoying that hide literally kick you from closet or bed and got caught by ambush and ambush is one of the broken monster i have ever meet (just theory) and ambush scream is small than rush whenever you touch the aura you will instantly die to him and if you enter closet and ambush is near you and you enter the closet in process you still will survive its same as rush

In the hotel+ update, ambush spawns in the time of 2am (idk if its 3 or 4 am) and can rebound 2 or 3 times (happened to me before), he works off of a big hitbox and X-ray.
5:26 Rush can also go through the door in that room. If someone breaks the vent cover. Rush will go through the door instead of going back

You forgot one of the most obvious facts- ambush got his name because you have a little bit less time to hide from him than you do with rush, which means he technically ambushes you!

The first time I encountered Ambush, I died. The second time I encountered Ambush, I got the badge. I survived Ambush by hiding next to a closet. I didn’t enter the closet, but I survived.

Okay i can describe the ''elbows'' part very well! so it acually happend to me that's why, so I was hiding in the block stairways and it was a room with only 1 closet, so i told my bestie to take the closet and i went in the block stairways instead, but since it was my first time using the block stairway method i didint know i have to look away, yes!, u need to look away when ambush comes, if u stare directly in his eyes even tho ur in a block stairway or vent it will still kill u. I was so confused but i learnt from the experience. When u hide in the block stairways or vents, just dont look at his eyes. THATS IT BYEE
The first time I ever got ambush was at level 96 during like my 12th attempt at the game 💀
I guess I got hella lucky I even encountered it after that many games, but I also ended up surviving the first attempt because there was a vent next to me conveniently.
I walked down the stairs and just saw a ghost whose face is spilled with mint, but no closets at that time...

To explain #4 better, rush and ambush use a thing called raycast, it shoots out lots of beans that work as it’s line of sight, this means you can hide in vents and behind certain corners or wardrobes and in false stairways and the basement, this is also how wardrobes work, they block the line of sight of the monster

for rush you need to be in his sight AND path while ambush is just kill on sight.

For Rush, hiding behind a closet does not work. Trust me, I tried it and I died

My first entity encounter was actually ambush, and I got it at door 7, I was so confused and I ultimately died.
Fun fact: Ambush is VERY rare, so you have a chance of him arriving at Door 5 to 8, or right after Rush goes through.

rush can only spawn in door 7 and more but ambush can spawn at door 5 and more
@@mila-wu7ww Rush can spawn also on door 5-6. Ryan J. who makes Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion videos, encountered Rush at door 6. This is just way, WAY rarer than even Ambush's arrival in these doors

Ambush can't open doors just because he rebounds and Go's a lot further rooms if he opens doors he will trigger a lot of entites which will be unfair
And ambush will be able to void you so he can't open doors just for balancing the game.

For number 15 I think the glow turns into pink because green and pink are opposite colors.You can see why ambush mouth is 0 and not o,his mouth is closer to the ground and most of his face so I think the mouth is the reason for the pink glow or the reason pink and green are opposite colors?

Actually it Is possible to go to the whole game while seeing no entedies (apart from seek and figure)
Because All entidies arre prrobabily based, but it is nearly impossible, manly because of rush, screech and eyes

Actually, you kinda wrong on the fact 3. Ambush is not the only entity that does not come on the seek chase. NO entity comes when your about to go to the seek chase. And no entity comes while your doing booth Figures. I think the only one is Timothy but no big entity's like Rush, Ambush, Dupe (maybe) and the other ones. I THINK the only one is screech in dark rooms but unlikely.
I think Figure gives the game an actual challenge... So yes, I do like him.

Quick thing: Ambush can spawn as early as door 3 (chance of that is 0.002)
When i just got my first ever legit rebound achievment (it was no hacks.) then ambush just came at me 7-8 times ya know, so ambush has like maybe 8-9 max limit?
the reason ambush will not open doors when hitting them is for a good purpose
if ambush were to open doors, it could activate rush, halt, or another ambush. The devs didn't want ambush to open doors when it rebounds.
or if ambush rebounds too often you could get glitch'd (before hotel+) or attacked by void (after hotel+)
I got Ambush at door 11 once, is that rare (also it was my first time encountering Ambush)
