    sir, could you give link from software AB SLC 5/02 . we want to download the program

      @SYPHOANG  Місяць тому

      @Anandya.Javier.setyawan: The programming software "Panel Builder 32" is very old. You can try the link below from Allen Bradley website.
      compatibility.rockwellautomation.com/Pages/MultiProductSelector.aspx?crumb=111
      Search for "PanelBuilder 32". There are 2 available versions 3.83.00 and 3.83.01.
      You might need to buy the activation for it. Good luck

    What’s the clip on top for ? Can I use an rj12 to usb cable ?

      @Joe W: I don't know what you meant for? It is just a converter from DH485 to USB. You can try your RJ12. I saw it once but the other end of the RJ12 cable in my experience connected to the top 3 pin connection. I think it is a special custom built cable.

    Hi I have slc504 channel 0 node 2 set to DH485 , and panel view 600 DH485 as well, can I use normal RS232 to usb cable plug plc channel 0 to upload / download program ?
    After I upload I want to change to channel 0 to DF1 as rs232 because new panel view plus will only either support EIP or using new type of cable usb to rs232 DF1 will change on factory talk communication setup , but problems is I don’t have converter as you shown here , will it possible upload by using normal rs232 to usb cable without ab converter under DH485 for slc504 current configuration?

      @ansonkiek6471: First, I think you are running into the same problem I was facing a while ago. However, there is no solution for the DH485 HMI replacement.
      First, you need to know that DH485 and DF1 are not the same. It is not just the physical layer difference between RS-232 and RS-485. It is a total different communication protocol. If PLC channel 0 is set for DH485, you will have to have a the converter 1747-UIC I showed in the video in order for your computer to communicate with the PLC.
      Second, you should not change channel 0 on your PLC to DF1. The reason is DF1 communication protocol will work only between 1 PLC and 1 HMI. Your PLC channel 0 is set for DH485 because I believe there are multiple HMI's in the network communicating to the same PLC. If you change PLC Channel 0 to DF1 and make it work with the new Panelview Plus that supports DF1, how about the rest of the HMI's or devices in the network? You will run into the more serious network problem.
      My recommendation is to try your best to keep the same communication protocol DH-485. You have to think of the other devices in the network that are currently communicating to the same PLC. It is a DH-485 network. I know it is almost impossible to find the new HMI that supports DH-485 in 2024. However, that is our only option. Refurbished HMI's with DH-485 are still available somewhere that you need to search out.
      If you like my channel and my response is helpful, "super thanks" at the lower right corner is a great way for you to show your support to my channel. Thank you.

      @@SYPHOANG actually customer want to preserve old PLC SLC504 and SLC 504 previous setup is DH485, to pair with panel view plus factorytalk view need to set RS232 which is DF1 in AB protocol and plc as well also need to DF1 full duplex told by AB helpline the recommended cable 9300-USBCBL-CP3 which is directly connect SLC 504 channel serial to hmi usb, but before that , i need online change the channel 0 from DH485 to RS232 , that why i ask you is that any normal cable can just online which the converter you had just shown on video

      @ansonkiek6471: As mentioned earlier, you have to use the 1747-UIC for the required conversion. Rockwell tech support told me the same thing because they no longer make any HMI's supporting DH-485. It's critical for you to verify with customer if they have anything else connected to the same PLC with DH485 communication protocol. The PLC port was set for DH485 for a reason. Good luck.

    Can u select rs232 DF1 devices in rslinx?

    • @SYPHOANG
      @SYPHOANG  8 місяців тому

      @user-hf1wj8bl9x: It depends on what protocol your PLC port is set to. In this video, the port is set to DH485 communication protocol. A short answer for your question is NO. It's simply because it is not DF-1 on the PLC port. Thank you for your support to my channel.

      Welcome and big thank you to you for sharing. And just to highlight something important choosing 1747 UIC driver and only configuring com port does not work if the PC is 64 bit- I wonder what was your PC OS bit!
      Therefore, choosing DF1 serials is the safer 😊
      Thank you again

      @@saedalhabbashi2790 : My computer is Dell Windows10 and it is 64-bit Operating System. I am not sure why it is not working on your computer but mine is working just fine. The main drawback of DF-1 is your PLC cannot communicate with multiple HMI's on the same network while it is not a problem with DH485. I personally don't like DH485 but if you have more than 1 HMI communicating to the same PLC, DH485 is your only option. Thank you for sharing your experience on my channel.

      @@SYPHOANG Thanks ! The 1747UIC is a convertor that converting from DF1(usb) to DH485( RS232 ) orDH485( RS485)
      To configure the driver in RSlinx you can choose Rs233 DF1 device ( as the manual instructed if your Rslinx is 2.x or below) or choose 1747 UIC as you did in the video if your RSlinx version is 2.7 or above)
      Said that, if I have multiple HMI and i have no choice to but DH485 ( Rs485)
      How to daisy chain and do i need termination resistors or not

    • @SYPHOANG
      @SYPHOANG  Рік тому

      @@saedalhabbashi2790 : To daisy chain multiple HMI's to communicate to the same PLC over DH485, you will need to daisy chain multiple 1761-NET-AIC converters to the same PLC first. And then each HMI shall need to be connected to the 1761-NET-AIC. You might want to check out the below video. The PLC is Micrologix1200 but it is communicating over the same DH485 network. If you like my videos and/or my experience is really helpful to what you are struggling on, you can give me a 1-time super thanks at the lower right corner of the video to show your great support to my channel. How do I do this with ethernet cable ? I lost all memory

    • @SYPHOANG
      @SYPHOANG  Рік тому

      @King of slots MILLION: I am not sure what you are trying to do. If you lost everything in the controller, you will have to download your program to the controller again. The IP address should be configured in your PLC program. Look for a serial port on your SLC controller. Using it to browse to your controller from RSLinx with DF1 driver. DF1 should be a default serial communication protocol. Hopefully this is helpful enough. Good luck!
