We owned a 2020 LR AWD Y and traded to a 2022 MY Performace in Aug 2022. But I retired the 21" tires/wheels and replaced them with some 18s from TSportLine and that one change created an entirely new vehicle. It's FASTER, MORE EFFICIENT, RIDES BETTER, TIRES ARE CHEAPER AND CAN BE ROTATED and I NO LONGER FEAR POTHOLES/CURBS. Fully half of my miles (17,600 today) have been accumulated on long highway trips. My lifetime efficiency is 275 wh/mi and I live in the mid-west so it sees snow, ice, and below ZERO temps. I had my first warranty issue this week after 20+ months of ownership. The rear hatch CINCH motor has been acting up so I submitted a service request and have a Mobile Tech coming on Friday (3 days after requesting service. Love the fact it will be fixed in my garage and I won't have to step foot in a dealer's service center. Best of luck with the new Y.

So you installed 18 inch wheels on the model y? Tell me more about it

You should have waited for the 2025 model y redesign. You might trade your 2024 for it.

My lease was up so i had to get a new car but tbh i am glad about the 2024 model as it’ll be the last time the model y gets that design that means this is the best version of the model y in this current form that teslas gonna release and im perfectly fine with that yes the new one will look and probably feel better but it will take them several relapses to get the design tweaked and any issues fixed along the way

I do agree too but I’m going to like the new model y redesign if they make it look like the model 3 redesign in 2024. However, I hear they might take out the stalks out just like the new model 3’s. I like the stalks personally so it’ll be hard to like the new model y interior if they copy it. The 2024 will probably be the best year for the generation with all the improvements.

This car has stood and delivered on everything, .... everything.....depreciation as well....lol. $65K in depreciation to be precise. Probably highest ever recorded depreciation in consumer level cars. Making record in everything...Tesla.
I know few of my friends bought model Y for $89K in 2022 because that's what they could get. Tesla was selling only fully loaded, highest version and with mandatory 15K FSD.
Now same model Y is selling for 25K pre-owned. It's like loosing 64K in just 2 years. Those people must be kicking themselves right now.
I swallowed my ego and bought BOLT EUV instead for 26K. It too went down in price and sells for $17K now. But not as bad as Tesla cars.

I’ve been thinking about getting a used MY, but the way the pricing has been trending down lately, not sure exactly when to pull the trigger. Thanks for your thoughts about the 21-inch wheels! I love the appearance of the turbine wheels, but am surprised no one has manufactured a 19-inch version.

I found the 19 inch wheels are more smoother compared to the 20 inch ones especially on the drive back from North Carolina

I will probably sell my BOLT EUV next year and buy model y. Way things are going, FSD too may come down to 5K or maybe 2K. And if chinese car enter the market, Tesla may start giving free charging again.
