Bought one in 2022 , Best pocket and shoulder camera to be with. Small , precise, zoom well and takes great videos with a good stabilization. I grant the longevity of this camera by the protective leather case . It s an amazing camera for the money,
I've been shooting with this camera for almost 5 months now and I can't fine fault with it, I find myself taking it to places were I would have taken a Dslr, video out performs my 550D and photo stil res is great for large prints like 10"x20" or larger
I got this camera about a month ago and I really like it so far. I mainly got it for a concert that I'm going to in august, so I wont know if it was really worth it until then.
great video - yes the HX50v is a must own - I own a good collection of DSLR and mirrorless ( OMD-5,GX1,Fuji X20,Fuji X100s, two GX7, NEX5n, NEX7 ) - and of course the RX100 - but the HX50v is just for those times when good zoom is needed - IS is very impressive - just wish it had the menu system of the RX100,RX10,RX1,A7/R etc - just can't understand why it has to have a different menu - the fact it has the back lit sensor Exmor R just really makes a difference - Image is good in good light - just in low light or fully zoomed when images loose a bit of IQ - A must have for a family - actually everyone So a great reminder you have made
The newly released HX90V is all I want in a compact camera, but the HX90V is now only £189 at Currys/PC World. Wait a few more weeks, and the price will plummet even more. You should be able to buy a used HX50V for under £100
Thanks for the great info ! I am in the market for a camera. But how does it a compare with its newer version the HX60 ? Some seem to say the newer one is less interesting.
Hi, I love the camera but when the sun is out the 3" LED turns into a mirror, There's no way to aim at something. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks.
Thanks. At $300 taxes in and delivered by a Big Box, this is the camera for me. I am having challenges learning how to pair it with my iPad and MotoG android.
Great camera but do you know if it has the 3.5 mm jack in put or out put And what compact camera with a price under $500 dollars that has mic in put or out put woud you recomend to me oo and a hot shoe Please let me know what you think and If you have an answer for my question
I have been thinking about this and panasonic zs20 which is less than half the price and do you thing the price difference reflects on the features and pictures quality . and in the same time I got this idea that instead of having a mid range phone and point and shoot camera , why not having a camera phone as my main camera and phone together .. like nokia 1020 or nexus 5 .. I am no looking for a specific answer , I'm looking for your thoughts as a photographer .
How does camers image quality compare to the lil sibling Sony Cyber-shot WX300? I'm in the market for a compact megazoom camera I can take with me anywhere. THANKS!
I bought this camera and the photo is shaky while taking a moving object under lights. I had this issue before but adjusted some thing to get rid off. Can you please let me know how to reduce the shakiness?
Can't decide between this one or the wx350..which one do you think is better? And can you tell me does this one hx50v have the Bionx sensor?
10 років тому
This one has bionz sensor, they put the x version in hx60v just like the wx300 and wx350..newer models have bionz x. But probably hx50v is better than wx350 because of those extra features like the hotshoe, exposure dial, the front grip which is I think very important and from reviews on the web; better 50/60p video quality despite they have same bitrate. If u r not living in usa, I say wait for the hx60v.

Btw I said bionz sensor just like u but actually bionz is the processor.
Sorry, but I have to wonder if Sony paid you to shill for them. You don't mention how the screen is practically unreadable in sunlight. You also don't mention how the new CMOS sensor for the 50V results in worse concert video recording (and still pics) compared to its predecessor, the 20V. Finally, you don't mention how the zoom function and autofocus don't work as quickly on the 50V compared to the 20V.
Did you find a solution? I have the same problem with the sunlight. "Hi, I love the camera but when the sun is out the 3" LED turns into a mirror, There's no way to aim at something. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks."
LordMang4 I don't think the word "successor" means what you think it means. The 20V came out BEFORE the 50V therefore the 50V is the successor. The 50V is an upgrade over the 20V offering a 30X optical zoom vs 20X in the 20V. The 20V is hardly "much better". It is comical that you paid more for the cheaper camera however. LOL!
LordMang4 "My solution was to pay more money and buy the 20V" Awwwwe, poor mouth breathing neckbeard is lashing out because he used his allowance poorly by paying MORE for inferior old tech. Stick to your video games down in mommy's basement.
SuperHansRules LOL, looks like you're an idiot AND a kid. They'll let anyone get on the internet nowadays LOL. You get tired of pirating PC games and cheating, kid? LOL what an idiot!

Was it worth it?
Love your comment about access to the battery/sd card when using the "half case". Regards.
I bought one just two weeks ago. This is a nice camera and not less powerful than cameras from 2022.
Any updates in 2023?

My HX50V is taking 3-4 sec. to 'process' image after pressing shutter button. Any thoughts about what the issue might be? Thanks.

nedthetoothpick My solution was to pay more money and buy the 20V. It's a fantastic camera and much better than its successor (the 50V).
