Awesome trail! Did it last August from the 17 to Sedona in my 2WD taco and had no problems other then 1 drop off that was pretty sketch, probably could have taken a better line lol but the scenery is well worth it. Just an FYI you can camp from the vista to the 17, lots of room and plenty of shade 👍🏼 great video btw 👍🏼
I rode Schnebly Hill right after Overland Expo West (a few years ago when those things were still allowed and covid wasn't a thing) and surprisingly saw very little traffic. I would have assumed that during/after the biggest overlanding expo in the US that the trail would be packed. To my surprise it was nice and empty that day. Even better trail when it's empty.
Cool video. Another trail to check out is valley of fire OHV loop. It’s a 23.5 mile trail, and has amazing scenery. Would be a great video to add to the channel.
Thanks for sharing. I might try this in my 2018 F150 FX4. It would be a little because I'll have to drive almost 2,000 miles back home, lol. I'll be out this May to see my youngest daughter graduate high school.
Looks like a great trail. A year ago April spent a week exploring Moab with my Bronco Sport Badlands, had a Blast! Going to the southwest this winter. Do you think this trail will be snow free December, January ?
Very nice!!! The trail will more than likely be clear with the exception of a freak snow storm. The snow doesn’t usually stay on the trails for more than a day or so. Good luck. Have a great trip!!!
I did this road on a Honda Grom. The pink Jeep tour guides thought I was a golden god. LOL! Anyways getting ready to do this trail again in our “brand used” Jeep XJ today. Thanks for the video to help me research.
@@AdventureBuilt The Grom? Horrible! And I’ll never do it again! LOL! The XJ? Like a dream. Handled it all like a champ. Took on Devil’s Staircase on Broken Arrow Trail today also. Piece of cake. Really impressed with what a stock XJ can do. It has the Upcountry package so that helps with a little extra lift and skid plates underneath. Everyone in all the Pink Jeep tours loved her and kept yelling her name which is on the license plate. Not another older Jeep to be seen today which is a shame. Lots of shiny new Rubicon’s though.
I have a 2001 GMC Sierra single cab V8 2wd…100% stock with 265/70/17 all terrain tires, would it be advisable to take this trail with this truck? Thanks you
Thank you very much and you sure can. The road doesn’t actually end it continues on to I17 and it’s a National Forest with dispersed camping. Best of luck.
I did this in an Escort when I was a teenager. But what was a long time ago and things have changed. It's too bad Sedona let it become what it is today. It's a place you shouldn't need a truck to get into or take one of the pink jeep tours.
Is this trail open ? Also does it cost anything to go there ? I've noticed alot of the Indian reservations websites are saying they are closed. We are coming to Flagstaff for our honeymoon in April and we wanna explore!
Hey man, it was amazing. A stock Tacoma could easily make it. Just air down to about 20psi and drive slow when the trail gets bumpy. If you don’t have an air compressor to fill up your tires after the trail don’t worry about airing your tires down. It will just be a bit bumpier ride.
No OHV that I know of. Just run the trails. A couple in Sedona you have to get a permit to because they get super congested. I don’t remember which ones. Do a google search and you will find it.
@@AdventureBuilt that was the first episode of yours I’ve seen. Was pretty sure your Taco has mods. Nice truck! I’ll definitely check out more of your stuff
@@AdventureBuilt Hit up The Maze District in Canyonlands. Stay at The Dollhouse. Very long trip to get there and amazing scenery...and very few people!

Thank you very much and nicely done. It is a beautiful ride.
I was just gonna ask how a 2WD taco would do

Oh man, definitely right place, right time. I’m jealous. I’ve never been able to catch it without I bunch of traffic.
Cool video. Another trail to check out is valley of fire OHV loop. It’s a 23.5 mile trail, and has amazing scenery. Would be a great video to add to the channel.
Thank you very much and I have never heard of that trail. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks again!!!
Schnebly Hill was our first real off road experience and looking forward to doing it again. Will definitely air down on the next go around.
What a great intro to the experience. Yea airing down this time was super helpful.
I'm sure this video will help with the busy factor...thanks for sharing?
The one bad part about this trail...
Thank you very much!!!

Retired guys in Jeeps. What I always wanted to be.👍👍😎🇺🇸
What tires you running? Is the truck lifted. Dope video
BFG KM 35x12.5 r17 and yes it’s lifted.
Can All Season tires make it through this trail? I have Michelin Defender LTX MS tires
Should make it just fine!
can u overnight camp near the edge of the top of schnebly hill? the schnebly hill vista?
do you think I could do this trail in a stock height ford explorer sport trac?
Hi, do you think I would be able to make it in my 4x4 2021 Ford Ranger Stx ?
You absolutely could. You might get a little scraping on the rear bumper but that’s it.
🔴 Is this trail possible to do with a stock TRD Sport 4X4? I have no lift, spacers, etc and original tires/wheels…..?!
Absolutely but you will drag your ass a bit.
Totally new to off-roading will a f150 4x4 with a 2 inch level kit be enough to experience this trail?
You can definitely do it.
@@AdventureBuilt awesome thanks for the reply new to Arizona also
Hey - I got an f250 Tremor with 35’s and the 6.7L diesel - what psi would be good to air down too?
Oh man. I would start at maybe 30 psi and go down from there. Definitely do some research on those tires. Not sure with a vehicle that large.
What suspension/lift kit would you recommend for a 2021 4runner offroad premium? I am also located in Az West valley..
I have a 2001 GMC Sierra single cab V8 2wd…100% stock with 265/70/17 all terrain tires, would it be advisable to take this trail with this truck? Thanks you
I think you will be fine just watch you ground clearance on some of the turns. Stay on the smoother sections. Enjoy.
I have a stock sequoia. Do you think I’ll make it? Thank you
In your opinion how long would it take to do this trail from the 17 to Sedona. Just driving time not stopping for pictures or airing down.
You could do it in maybe just over an hour depending on traffic. It will take you longer if you go on a weekend. Best of luck.
are you allowed to set camp at the top of the mountain where the road ends ? great video by the way
Thank you very much and you sure can. The road doesn’t actually end it continues on to I17 and it’s a National Forest with dispersed camping. Best of luck.
The road does not look that techy or bad. I have a 4x4, 4runner with regular all terrain tires, do you think that would ok for this trail?
No it’s not bad at all. There are a couple spots that get a little flexy but just go slow and pick a good line and you will be totally fine. Have fun!
Awesome video, thinking of exploring out this way next month. How long did this trail take roughly?
Definitely do it. The trail was many 2-3 hours depending on how busy it is.
I did this in an Escort when I was a teenager. But what was a long time ago and things have changed. It's too bad Sedona let it become what it is today. It's a place you shouldn't need a truck to get into or take one of the pink jeep tours.
Yea you can definitely see the remnants of the old road but it is definitely a Offroad trail now!
Is this trail open ? Also does it cost anything to go there ? I've noticed alot of the Indian reservations websites are saying they are closed. We are coming to Flagstaff for our honeymoon in April and we wanna explore!
The trail is definitely open and it’s in Sedona not on the reservation. And yea the reservations are closed. Happy honeymoon!!!!
Looks fun. Do you think a stock tacoma sr5 4x4 will be fine driving up here. What was your speed?
Hey man, it was amazing. A stock Tacoma could easily make it. Just air down to about 20psi and drive slow when the trail gets bumpy. If you don’t have an air compressor to fill up your tires after the trail don’t worry about airing your tires down. It will just be a bit bumpier ride.
Awesome man. Thanks, I've been watching your vids. Can't wait to see more.
Do you have to do ohv I’m not sure how it works?
No OHV that I know of. Just run the trails. A couple in Sedona you have to get a permit to because they get super congested. I don’t remember which ones. Do a google search and you will find it.
I was descending though.
All those bash plates are missing underneath🤔
Yea only running stock plates, soon to be remedied.
@@AdventureBuilt haha same same
I love this trail. I plan go there soon. What is the name of the trail so I can search?
The trail is Schnebly Hill Road or Trail depending on what map you look at.
Can a stock 2022 toyota tundra make it 4x4
Absolutely. Send it.
Schnebly Hill is beautiful. First section out of Sedona is a tad rocky. Otherwise, excellent trail.
It absolutely is!!! Thank you.
Did you drive it from Sedona to the 17 or 17 to Sedona
We went from Sedona to I17.
Camped there many times in 1980s
Very awesome. I’m sure it has changed a little.
Beautiful! Is this a stock Taco?
Thank you and no not even close. If you look at the channel I have videos for all the mods I have done.
@@AdventureBuilt that was the first episode of yours I’ve seen. Was pretty sure your Taco has mods. Nice truck! I’ll definitely check out more of your stuff
What size tires are you running?
35x12.5r17 BFG KM3. They rock!
Looks good stuffed under that little rig!
Did you do this on a weekday or weekend?
It was a Monday but it was a holiday so very busy. I usually try to hit the Sedona trails during the week but when in Rome.
Would my silverado 2500 HD 4x4 be suitable for this hill? New to area.
Absolutely. The trail is very wide and not technical. Enjoy.
Can a stock Tacoma make it up there ?
A stock Tacoma can absolutely do the entire trail.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Do you need a pass for this road?
No pass needed. There are other trails in Sedona that you do need a pass for to keep traffic low. However this is not one of them.
It doesn't look like a normal sedan can handle the jagged rocks on the bottom. ☹️
Honestly any high clearance vehicle could make it just go slow and pick the correct line. A Subaru Outback could make it.
Nice Tacoma
Thank you very much!!!
Definitely go to Sedona, not Utah...nothing to see here!
Haha...Utah I’m coming for you. We will be up there at the end of the month.
@@AdventureBuilt Hit up The Maze District in Canyonlands. Stay at The Dollhouse. Very long trip to get there and amazing scenery...and very few people!
I did this in a stock black 2021 kia soul. Took six hours lmfao.
Haha my buddy did it descending in a Nissan Altima. He said it never drove the same again.
@@AdventureBuilt I'm going to revisit late next month but in a lifted 2011 miata.
@@lucaskosmata9772 hahaha that should be fun.
Utah Moab baron waste land no trees all I would not compare it to Sedona.
Hmmmm
