I'm fascinated that Kripp has said many times "Tunnel Trogg is the most cancerous 1-drop in the game"
Mana Wyrms are raw cancer. Combine with Flamewaker and Sorc. Apprentice (which isn't really cancerous by herself) and you have "tempo" mage, AKA "I'm going to do 15 damage in the first 4 turns with my trio of cancer minions and spells discounted to 1 or 2 mana, and if you're still alive by 8 I'll do 16 unmitigatable damage right to your face" Mage, which is a very interactive deck unlike Miracle Rogue.
If there is one card I am looking forward to never seeing again, it's Flame Waker.
Busted little garbage that is way too favorable for the class it is played in.
And yeah, just a general Mage nerf in general would be appreciated. For once.
CobaltClaw I've been saying this for years, but it's always been "muh flavor of the month deck". Yet no matter how many broken op cards mage gets everyones fine with it.

You should know patch day isn't always great to start right away. Not only EU, but also Asia and other region is delayed compare to NA. Why? Because of the exact reason the guy above me stated. Bugs do occur even after going live, you should be thankful NA is pretty much a guinea pig for other regions. You could have opened a bugged pack, you know. This isn't WoW where you're going for world first.
You're opening packs, inevitably getting compensated and playing the new expansion.
We're doing none of those things.

I'm a NA server player, who doesn't live in the States anymore, who didn't open any packs yet, who won't be getting any of those perks, but seriously? Grow up, man. Don't let the sheer number of card packs fool you. Maybe if you would have had opened couple of hundred packs like Kripp, it will make some difference in Legendary, Epic cards pity timer, but if not, quit your whining, geez.
Not receiving something that you shouldn't have in the first place, isn't a loss. Internet, this is Blizzcon tournament free packs all over again.

Don't open your MSG packs if you can wait. The tri class cards occurrence is broken. I only opened 25 packs, got 7 Grimestreet Smugglers, 7 Jade Spirits, and 8 Kabal Chemists. I also got 2 of each tri class rare. So about 20% of the cards I got were tri class, which is crazy. If you watch Kripp stream he had a similar experience.

I don't get why people are still playing this game, this video sums up exactly why I quit playing Hearthstone, 80% of the ranked games you play are determined by luck, or your opponent rushing you before turn 5. It's just not fun anymore

for example; had a game against a yogg-mage playing a paladin deck with n'zoth. barely hanging on with heals. he had me at 10 life and got through all my threats. passed turn and i top deck n'zoth. play him and hope to live one more turn.
he top decks yogg. yogg casts bullshit left and right, eventually killing my sylvanas. i take yogg. he then fills up my hand,heals me and casts dmg at the other guy.
this bullshit isnt fun. and i werent even on the recieving end....
i quit hs and uninstalled it all.

Wayne Walker Arguably the most powerful card from the set was firelands portal, and guess what's the mage deck that uses it? Yep, tempo mage. Or if your'e an insane person who actually enjoys playing the game and then you'd use it in reno mage.
I like the design of one of those (spirit claws), but in the circumstances the class never should have gotten it. Maybe shelve it until Shaman isn't so degenerate.
blobland I'm not sure. The card would be pure trash in most other classes, as shaman generates infinite spell damage. The two durability would massively help, but part of the problem was that Tunnel Trog was also a thing.
Also a kick in the teeth that they nerfed blade flurry only to give the best weapons to shaman

The expansion was bad, true. But the ladder experience will always be just as bad, because the community is mostly comprised of degenerates who can't and/or don't want to play decks with which you actually make meaningful decisions and look at the board instead of the opponent's health counter. People don't care about the game; they care about winning.
Yea, but if the strongest decks require complex decision making, people who care about winning must play those, so in the end it's the developers' decisions that define the meta

yea it was. i couldn't even play enough games to do my quests with this shit. it was just that kind of frustrating. all tempo mage or shaman for weeks on end. now with expansion i can play more than a couple games without getting pissed off and rage-quitting for he day

Why exactly was Karazhan such a bust? I sorta skipped it. Getting back into Heathstone now.

SBroproductions the bosses were easy and the cards were either busted or absolutely terrible. One of the cards was just a power creep on frostwolf grunt, and another was a common card that completely ruined arena.
The adventure was too easy, but mostly it just introduced cards that buffed the already strong classes, had nothing for the weaker classes, and created one of the most stale meta's since Secret Paladin, where every deck on ladder is the same, incredible and unbeatable midrange shaman deck.

Don't think it was. All the crap has been piling on little by little expansion after expansion, people just realized the smell, turned around and saw a huge pile of crap. You'll realize not much Karazhan card was used against Kripp in those 'worse games'. Karazhan is just taking the blame as it was the most recent expansion when people realized that.
Not saying Karazhan was bad, nor WotOG, LoE, etc, but some op cards have been piling on to create some of the ridiculous combination like you just saw on this vid. Luckily quite lot of these cards will rotate out next year. We'll see a similar reaction at the end of next year, or the next. Pile has been cleaned, but we'll get a new pile to create some op combo.
Mid Range Shaman and decks that counter it (no deck counters it fully, only slightly) is the entire meta. Mid range Shaman has ~70% win rate and you can play it with half your brain missing.

Every expansion we are straying further away from an interactive multiplayer game and getting closer to a spell only dungeon in constructed.
I opened Hearthstone after getting home from work today, and was excited to earn myself some packs with the cool new quest involving the gangs. Little did I know that not only did seemingly 75% of players already have all the necessary cards to make a full Gadgetzan deck, I also forgot that I wouldn't have the opportunity to grind against noobs at lower ranks since the ranks had just been reset. Was really hoping to get the new cards and try them out, but I'm not losing 75% of my games in order to get them, because I both don't already have the cards, duh, and don't have all the cards necessary for some super expensive control deck to counter them.
VeryUnfriendlySpoon if you knew how the new decks work, you would know you don't need a expensive control deck to counter, quite more the opposite.

Paladin buffing is much more control than midrange.
The warrior buffing are much more aggro than midrange.
The Jade golem decks are much more controll/rampy than midrange.

First game - only kz cards were cat trick and firelands portal. Second game - again, no kz cards from opponent. Why is it kz that's making the game bad? It was a boring expansion, to be sure, but it's not what makes Hearthtone lousy these days.
This video doesn't highlight it at all but KZ really is a cancer expansion because of spirit claws making the best deck for the past months even better

Yeah, he's just being salty about what mage can do. That's especially amusing considering he claims to love the idea of control/combo decks and even showcased a mage deck once when talking about that.
I'm sorry, but how the fuck is being salty at Tempo mage contradictory to the idea of liking combo/control decks? Tempo Mage is about the farthest you can get from that type of deck without getting into Face Hunter territory.
i guess thats just the problem of karazhan - it didnt change the bad side the meta was turning to in the good direction but more or less stabilized it.
It didnt fix the imbalancedness of WotOG but didnt bring any realy nice gameplay aspects (whilst WotOG introduced the Old gods that mostly (sadly) werent played in the ladder decks bcause they were too slow)
so the combination of not fixing stupid shit gameplay but instead forcing it even harde without introducing new interesting/fantastic cards or gameplaymechanics made the ladder get to such a shitty place described in the vid
additionally the vid wasnt about the karazhan cards but about the time they were played. even though they couldve been played earlyer they werent because the meta was different and they werent able to do such shit

because the meta's made secret/facehunters and mid range shamans frequent and strong. He's just demonstrating the games he's had since this expansion was released.
because the new 3 mana 3/4 hunter minion makes you play secrets for free and possibly just dump your whole hand at the first 2-3 turns.
the huntress wasn't even in the first deck, legit only the bat and cat trick were from kara right?idk it just gave me the impression if that first clip was good enough to be the first clip he uses, then the rest of the video is somewhat pointless filler lol
The only reason that deck exists in the first place is huntress and cat trick. He may not have drawn any of them, but the deck is just as cancerous without it. Secrets and tempo is just not a fun thing, especially not when combined with a face deck.
Secrets are fun, but not when they are played in such a cancerous way.
Kripp's video just proves how bad Whispers as a expantion. None of the Karazhan cards were offenders in the video.
Артём Муртазин WOG was incredible, possibly my favorite time playing the game was in the first months of its release. The problem with karazhan is that it didn't have impactful enough cards to change the meta, which meant it became stale and boring. And the two most powerful cards overall of the set, spirit claws and firelands portal, were given to the classes who were already in the top spot in the meta, and are both aren't fun at all to play against.
The game with the double cabalists tomb, he should've played his second truesilver over tirion's weapon to heal 2 more to put himself at 11 health if he thought the guy had a pyroblast. would've won him the game.
How to solve problem and have mage still be fair?
Frostbolt: deal 3 dmg to A MINION and freeze it.
Fireball: deal 6 dmg to A MINION
It's not like they're already doing way more than they should in comparison to other cards for same cost. I mean all other basic cards keep getting nerfed like warsong, execute, rockbiter, charge, (buzzard, MC, soulfire, backstab in past), yet mages play with 2frostbolt 2 fireball in each non-reno deck for like, since the game exists and that's not a problem, better keep nerfing combo decks instead.

The deck I hate most is secret hunter cuz once you finally clear you remain with 6 hp and die in two turn or get highmaned for which you have no answer.

"Worst Game of Karazhan" and virtually all of the salt is in reaction to cards from older sets. Maybe once or twice he complained about a Babbling Book.
I think Blizzard needs to just bump the health pools up to 40. It would help classes without healing, it nerfs bullshit like freeze mage, and it'll be much harder to lose on turns 1-3.
That´s actually my ladder experience in november from rank 12 to rank 7: tempo mages throwing everything to face and topdecking fireballs in turn 8 having 7 hp myself. Having board control and lethal in hand... gg well played pure skill game...
I dont consider the single player adventures as full on "expansions." I mean, yes they're new Card Sets, but with as little content they provide (Card total, not missions or story,) I can really only call them Booster Sets
But half of the adventures have been successful. LOE had many cards that really shook up the meta. All of the legendaries found their way into top tier decks, and about half of the total cards saw at least decent play. Naxx also had many cards that were stalwarts in decks for years, albeit the card pool was smaller back then. I agree though, Kara and BRM (outside of Dragon Priest and Flamewanker) didn't do much for the game.
On the subject of nerfing cards that go in every deck and make it mindless, blizzard still hasn't nerfed fireball or PO, and they continue to release broken early game cards
rank 5 and up are the top 5% of the player base. Your elitist opinions are irrelevant to the health of the game.
Po is actually one of the less mindless cards in the game. Requires sacrificing a minion to be used, which takes much more strategy than flat out removal. The only issue with it is the deck that it's played so much in and how strong it is in that deck.

I just wished the maximum health pool was higher or you can make it higher with some cards.

So is Gadgetzan with all these hand buffs. Like damn, make Dopplegangster an epic! I use him in paladin and brought him out as a 7/7 while my opponent had 24 health (that's lethal) I was at 14 health and my opponent conceded.

Wellll, it all started with the beginning of face hunter and later eboladin back then after the nerf of rogues and druids, like 2 years ago, so... Hearthstone was crap long before shamans
