I had my eyes dilated and was never provided with protective glasses. I was exposed to light for a long time and was unaware of and dangers from this. Should I be worried?
I don't know if this is a good answer but I'll try. Anytime I have anyone who is super anxious about dilation, I let them know it is ok to defer and do it on a day when they don't have a ton to do. For example, when they have a driver available. Then, schedule right at the end of the day so they can go home and just go to sleep. My patients typically appreciate that option and wake up the next day undilated again. :)

When im in a dark are and walk into a lighter environment my pupils can take long to readjust to the light, sometimes as long as a hour or 2, i have no focusing issues when my pupils are dilated and my vision stay the same for near and far objects, oh apart from if im in the dark or at night there's a light source or a signboard with lit up words, there's a huge rainbow like halo around the lit up object which can sometimes make that objects appears blurry. Crap. I got my eyes dilated and my when my vision was better, i stopped wearing those glasses and it was very bright and i just walked to my car in pain. Is anything gonna happen to my vision/eyes?
There's quite a few factors at play here. It depends on the job demands but also the individuals prescription and accommodative situation. For a near sighted person, they can wear glasses to drive while dilated then take them off to read/be on computer while they're dilated. But for a far sighted person who doesn't have any glasses yet it may be debilitating enough to necessitate some time away from computer. There are surely people who have used it as an excuse to not work. But there's just as many who truly struggle to work while dilated. Again, depends on the situation!
@@EyeSchoolwithDrD ok and also if it’s night, do I still need to wear the glasses or am I fine and can you sleep with your eyes dilated? Sorry for the questions it’s my first time
Many people do have these issues. Most complications are due to the severity of the prescription. Higher powers, astigmatism and no line bifocals can be tricky. All online asks for are prescription and pupillary distance. In-office measurements take much more than that into effect. Hope this helps.

I'd check with your eye care provider to find out if this was the expected length of dilation for you. Also, in lighter eyes it can last longer. If you have any pain or redness in either eye call your eye doctor! Hope that helps!
Dear Doctor, I am not feeling any kind of pain but my dailation is not fixed yet..And I'm having trouble seeing because the light is looking too bright. It almost 24 hours now...

Is it okay now
Hello,
I was dilated two days ago with four rounds of drops. My vision hasn't fully recovered yet. I am a little bit worried.
What should I do?
Thank you.
Four rounds is a lot, depending on what they used could last longer than typical. Call them if not seeing any improvement.
Broo is your eyes fixed now?
@@mukulvishwakarma3585 oh yes yes. It took longer but recovered eventually. Turns out I have cylindrical vision not.
Bro, how much days it took to see everything clearly ?

My pupils are huge
Are headaches common??
Yes, all that extra light can give you a headache for sure! But if its all concentrated over one eye or the other definitely let your doctor know!

How are you now?
Is it just an excuse to not work?
There's quite a few factors at play here. It depends on the job demands but also the individuals prescription and accommodative situation. For a near sighted person, they can wear glasses to drive while dilated then take them off to read/be on computer while they're dilated. But for a far sighted person who doesn't have any glasses yet it may be debilitating enough to necessitate some time away from computer. There are surely people who have used it as an excuse to not work. But there's just as many who truly struggle to work while dilated. Again, depends on the situation!
What if I got the dilation but they didn’t give me the glasses
You can wear any sunglasses that you have at home until it wears off!
@@EyeSchoolwithDrD ok and also if it’s night, do I still need to wear the glasses or am I fine and can you sleep with your eyes dilated? Sorry for the questions it’s my first time
@@natalie-bv1tv Yes, it's ok to go to sleep when dilated. And you're ok to not wear the glasses. It'll wear off soon!
@@EyeSchoolwithDrD ok thank you so much 😊
Now I know why it’s been like this for thanks
you're welcome!
They didn’t give me shit for glasses
Can I use sunglasses?
yes!
Johnny Cage Glasses
I’m typing this with muscle memory and can’t see shit
Can you talk about the mail order lens places? I have a bad experience from my first time trying this.
Many people do have these issues. Most complications are due to the severity of the prescription. Higher powers, astigmatism and no line bifocals can be tricky. All online asks for are prescription and pupillary distance. In-office measurements take much more than that into effect. Hope this helps.
Mam ,plz guide me .

If you don't feel confident in the recommendations your doctor has given you and you would like to see what another practitioner might suggest, you are well within your rights to obtain additional opinions from other doctors.
