    Excellent tips. One note: If you wear polarized sunglasses on a sunny day, you'll be able to see the areas you've already sprayed much better. The wet grass will look significantly darker than the dry grass (or opposite depending on which way the polarization runs in your lenses).

    Great video, helped a lot. I did 150ml into 45L on my first go till I watched this. Ended up at 5L per 100sqm. Not a wonder I wasn’t seen results.

    Great job mate. I bought the Chapin battery sprayer (essentially your sprayer but with a battery). I've got it fairly well dialed in. 2 fills (8 gallons) will cover my yard. I'm playing with adjusting my pace for lighter/heavier applications.

    Can you do a clip on how to set up the nozzle system you have on your sprayer and where to buy the conversion kit.THanks

    Awesome job bro! Really great explanation. It takes some getting use to but once you have a pace and have a good feel for it, easy as pie!

    New comment… hey Ben, great vid. I’ve noticed in you vids you say do a double pass. May be a stupid qu, but do you double the water and product needed, as you are in essence doubling your spraying area. Just bought a ryobi 18v gravity fed sprayer (have a lot of ryobi gear so made sense!) ,having trouble getting my amounts correct when spraying . Have adjusted walking pace and still can’t get it right.HELP PLEASE!

    Great video!! crazy this was 3 years ago. Do you still use this setup for sprayer, Im meaning the check valve and tee jets? I use a blue spring loaded check valve, i like mine becasue its lighter weight but myine still does leak on occasion , haha. Also i tried clicking on younr links but couldnt link up. Thanks Ben!!!! You going to GIE?

    Hi Ben, do you ever use deflector/reflex nozzles?
    I think these types of nozzles are recommended on Roundups label however I only have a cone and fan nozzle.

    If you're using water to check the delivery rate of the sprayer, why not use an empty parking lot where the spray pattern will be easier to see?

    Sorry mate i didn't hear a word you said , couldn't stop looking at your lawn , its hypnotic , looks sweet brother.
    I have 2 requests, could i see a double mow in the same direction to make the lines/stripes pop , i know you have to change angles but the diamond pattern isnt as pleasing to the eye in my humble opinion.
    And any tips on stopping dog pee brown spots, im using these dog rocks atm that you put in their water dish and they seem to do the job just not 100%, but if you have any other tips id love to hear it, i used too have 30 brown spots on the lawn and with the rocks im down to around 5-spots.
    My lawns looking great too atm but not up to your lvl , thanks for the motivation mate .
    And are you expecting to have brown frost burnt lawn soon or will the rye hold up all winter?.
    Cheers mate.

      If you're interested the product is called....Dog rocks ,all the w`s dogrocksdotcom.
      They work well just take 5 weeks to kick in at the start and need replacing every 2-3 months so will cost you just over 100 bucks a year to have no brown spots , not a bad price for us lawnies considering the enjoyment you get .
      Brown spots can be depressing .

      I’ll have to do some double stripes for sure man!
      As for dog urine marks, that’s a hard one man, I used to have a dog and I just used to fertilise less and water the spots when I saw him wee. I tried dog rocks and they didn’t work for me. I tried to train him to go in one spot but that didn’t work either. Bit of a struggle to be honest!

    Love your vids bro. Do u prefer spraying to granules? Most products have granules as an option. Thoughts?

    • @LawnTips
      @LawnTips  6 років тому +1

      Thanks mate!
      I prefer the sprayer for soil amendments and insecticides.
      I’d rather use granular fertiliser though!

    Yo Benny boy
    Wot 👆. What’s ur thoughts on the ryobi 18v battery backpack sprayer
    Cost approximately $220-250
    Already running all the 18v ryobi gear except the mower. Question 2 regarding the hortex sprayer , I still use this for liquid fert and seaweed solution, would you prefer this method or use a back pack sprayer to apply seaweed and liquid fert to your grass?
    Great content mate

    Also calibration , goes on nozzle height, the lower you are , the more you use I.e It will change your spray width. Easier way of telling of spray width is to test on hard surface first, at nozzle height then that would be a good guide. While he got 4 litres over 100 sqm , remember to always read labels and even then they are only guides, every product is different.

  • @arkzup

    Is there a reason for changing the way you spray? You used to hold the wand in front of you, now I’ve noticed your doing it to the side

    • @LawnTips
      @LawnTips  6 років тому +1

      Just the new quick cap nozzle makes it so you have to spray to the side.
      It’s better anyway cause I don’t have to walk over what I’ve already sprayed 👍🏽

    Hi mate if my lawn was 60 sqm how would I work it out. I know it’s 30ml per 100. Thanks

    • @cammo20
      @cammo20 Місяць тому

      18ml/60sqm
      100sqm / 60sqm = 0.6
      30ml X 0.6 = 18ml

    I looked up all the toxicology reports on the herbicides ive used and they all/most seem to have carcinogen properties .
    Its a scary read . it can stay in the soil for months apparently.
    Maybe a show on toxicology of herbicides ?....plenty of sites on the web with scientific research.
