A blind person can see the SEC is a far better conference. So why is he so focused on out of conference games. Ohio state, every year scrimmages 6 to 7 very weak teams. You will see them play 2nd tier teams like Penn state, Wisconsin, Iowa. Meanwhile Georgia has played Texas, Alabama, A&M, LSU. That's why!! Notice they added some Pac12 teams, who's dominating Ohio state, the rest is just practice and scrimmages. Put any big ten school into the SEC and it would be embarrassing. I'm a Maryland fan!
If you look at the beginning of conference play in the SEC, you will see that the AP pole had over half of the SEC in the top 25. Look at how many of their teams were ranked in the top 10. Oregon dropped from 3rd to 9th over a span of two weeks, even though they won both games, Which allowed three SEC teams to jump into those positions. Again, they basically front loaded them in the rankings, and obviously that’s their excuse for having strong schedules. That conference definitely seems to take advantage of the AP rankings. Coming from the PAC 12, we are used to seeing that, though. it’s BS.
This is exactly right. Preseason rankings are BS and having the CFP rank teams weeks later into the season isn’t helping because the committee is evaluating based on those early rankings. I agree with you!
They have a Sunbelt conference loss too. Vandy lost to Georgia State right before they beat Alabama. The SEC is a house of cards. Their teams have a lot of talent and a lot of flaws.
None of this matters till the Playoffs. I expect 4 teams getting in from the SEC and B10. ACC, B12, ND and G5 completes the field. What I find hilarious is every team in contention now in the SEC thinks it should get in. If a team loses one game it still controls its destiny. Two losses and those teams are at the mercy of the committee.
People can complain all they want about the bias of conferences but until teams from other conferences beat the SEC in the playoffs year after year then what’s your argument against the SEC besides it’s unfair which is a tired argument beat them on the big stage more and you’ll earn respect and bias just like they have.
Strength of Schedule is not a great indicator of future success. Just about every team Indiana beat this year had a stronger SOS. Plus, if each B1G team got an extra give-me game like the SEC then teams like Nebraska and Michigan would already be bowl eligible and each B1G team would have a better record. This would improve Indiana…. And other B1G teams SOS. The SEC knows this and refuses to add another conference game. The SEC is down this year at the top which is why teams like Vandy and dare I Say LSU have three wins over the SEC leaders. I wouldn’t be surprised if Florida or some other lesser SEC team like Auburn steals another win. You can also flip the wins to losses and ask if Penn State or Indiana have any bad losses compared to the SEC teams. They won’t do that because they are trying to hide those losses like a squirrel hides a nut.
And the polls show no love to Boise State either. Boise State proved in the past that they can beat P5 schools in major bowl games. Boise State even beat a very high ranked Georgia. The polls purposely G5 teams out of the preseason polls. Boise State was no ranked when Oregon beat them. Boise win since then. The more they keep winning? The Oregon win over them would look good on their resume.
Penn state hasnt and wont play indiana or oregon. Oregon wont play penn st or indiana. Osu is only one who played the top of the conference and props up the rest. Penn st only loss is a good loss so that helps. Same with indiana assuming they lose. Same for oregon. Outside of the top 4 you yourself said that all the other teams arent good wins when the sec beat them. Circular reasoning
I hate SEC bias to, but its funny how you take into account SEC teams SOS when it fits your narrative but say how overrated SOS is when it comes to Indiana's HORRIBLE schedule. Indy played ONE team over .500. and their SOS ranks 100th. Not one SEC playoff team has a schedule even close to that bad.
When did I ever prop up Indiana’s schedule? Again, the SEC plays 8 conference games. It’s intentionally done to get more wins for their teams to make things look better.
@@TheBigTenHuddlePodcast The SEC is a better conference then the others, but playing fewer conference games no matter how good those teams are just to play more non conference games that are terrible teams and then saying you’re still better than undefeated Indiana is a bad argument I’m a Oregon fan. I hope the Big Ten puts the SEC to shame. The SEC is overrated this year. Even the Ducks could win at Vanderbilt. The Big 10’s top four teams played better non conference teams than Alabama and Georgia. Every Power Conference should play a 9 game conference schedule
@@donaldjones9830 I don’t root for anybody in the sec but that’s just not accurate. Oregon has Boise so I’ll give them that but the other 3 in the big played absolutely nobody. @@ryan2744 I don’t disagree, you forgot the Ducks played Ohio State. Indiana plays them Saturday. I still think the committee should put all four of those Big 10 teams in over most of the two conference loss SEC teams, in which there is five, and possibly a sixth. And while Oregon has played and lost two nattys, none of those outside of Alabama or Georgia have a title recently. If those two don’t make the CFP, then the SEC will need to prove they are still top banana. There are plenty of other Big Ten teams with championship experience, including Washington, USC, Nebraska, etc. Both conferences have their bad teams that do nothing. LSU, Florida both have nattys but both aren’t going to the CFP. The SEC benefits from population geography and a bigger TV revenue stream than the Big 10. The Texas vs Texas AM winner gets a CFP playoff spot by winning a birth in the SEC championship and winning that game. The other spot is up for grabs in the SEC championship game. Milroe and Beck for Georgia and Alabama have been inconsistent at QB. Only 1 team with 2 losses has won a natty, in LSU, from the crazy 2007 season when six teams ranked number 2 lost, including Oregon, Cal, Missouri etc. So that pretty much means Alabama and Georgia are out. Texas played nobody so the argument that Indiana and Penn State played nobody is a dumb argument. Both Texas and those two teams I mentioned played nobody. The top four in the Big 10 have played schedules not as tough as the SEC teams but they have all been consistent with who they do play. The SEC has not. No idea who really should be taken serious. I’m saying the race is wide open and only Oregon has been consistent the whole season. But they have flaws, mostly injuries to receiver, and both lines. Yes, Indiana is undefeated. They don’t deserve a CFP playoff spot, assuming they lose at the Horseshoe, but I’d vote them over some of the two loss teams in the SEC. The SEC plays the worst non conference teams of any Power Conference. The Ducks played Boise State. The Beavers suck, but they aren’t Mercer. The non conference schedule and playing one less conference game is why they don’t deserve more than three teams in the CFP. I mostly agree with you, and I’m glad you aren’t pro SEC. I never said the strength of schedule didn’t matter, I want all the power conferences to play by the same rules and with no bias from the committee. Strength of schedule includes non conference also, and that is why there is bias on their conference is because they go by rules that benefit them. Winning nine conference games is harder than eight. I think the portal and NIL stuff hurts their chances at a title.
About time for someone to call out the SEC bull…
Not to take anything away from this show but check out 'Kings of The North'. The entire show's premise is about calling out the overrated SEC.

Love it. Been saying this in comments all over the place.
As a Notre Dame fan, THANK YOU for taking Brian Kelly away from ND!
Im excited to see SEC's playoff record at the end of the season. Hoping the North takes it to them in the post season.
