    I’m happy to say that I’m the owner of a LG top loader with agitator just like this one with the matching dryer I have had this pair for 2 month’s best investment ever. The washer preforms very well and fits a King size comforter in the bedding cycle. Went from a GE top load set to this,best move ever. I recommend this machine to anyone!!! Spin cycle leaves clothes with almost dry spots which shortens any dry cycle. There are 2 deep fill levels first touch is half tub if you hold the button down for 3 seconds it will deep fill the tub to the chrome part of the agitator.

    This washer does a much better job than the Whirlpool/Maytag versions. This agitator is more thorough from top to bottom. It actually does move the clothes unlike the one piece agitator version in the Whirlpool and Maytag design. I definitely would consider this.👍🏻

    I have this machine. I had an impeller machine and I noticed my clothes were getting dingy & smelled. After buying the LG machine I decided to wash and donate the dingy clothes since they were otherwise in like new condition. I was amazed that after going through one turbo wash they were again bright and smelled fantastic. Since I'd already replaced the clothes I donated them anyway. This machine is a workhorse. I'm definitely going back for the matching dryer. FYI, a normal load only takes 55 minutes or less. He chose the normal with soak which adds time for soaking or he added more options that increased the time. Watch the LG video on how the turbo wash works and you'll see that the clothes are being moved around more than you think. Also, the impeller version of this model is the same with low water as other impeller models. Also, all rinse cycles are in cold water no matter what setting the wash cycle is on (major plus for me).

    Agitation seems a bit weak...I think the agitator needs to have longer rotations to really get the clothes moving.

    How does this machine compare to the new Speed Queen or Maytag Commercial per wash performance?

    • @dorothy135
      @dorothy135 3 роки тому +2

      That is my question too ;=) I have a cabrio that probably needs a new water inlet but I am over it. I'd like a new machine. I've done enough repairs on it. The SQ classic is nice but I do wish there was an LCD or some where it is the cycle indicator/time left. If they had done that or even the panel as on the TR7, I would have gotten it. 3.2 capacity is smaller than what I have now but they seem to say it is not that big a deal. I do not have a family laundry situation so it is probably ok. I thought about front loaders but I have had a top loader for too many years and am not wanting to have that much change. I hope Kirk addresses this SQ and Maytag comparison.

      It's to convince people who have no idea how a washer works, and refuse to own a front load washer which will clean better than either type of top loader because it threatens their freedom to be wasteful, that they should buy this one. 😂

      @@dregenius Yes but those new front load washers hardly give you any water and I don't give a damn what you say I want water in my washer to clean the cloths. So, I'll pass.

    • @dregenius
      @dregenius 7 місяців тому

      @@scrambler69-xk3kv I've seen videos showing varying but understandable testing methods that show front load machines, especially LG, to clean better than anything else, and while none of them make any speculation as to *why* I postulate that it's due to detergent concentration. Imagine you have dirty hands - just changed the oil in your car for example. Gritty and dirty and greasy. Your two options to wash your hands are either put a squirt of soap on them, rub them together, and then rinse the soap off *or* put a squirt of soap in a full sink of water, and then wave your hands around in the mildly soapy water. (A top loader with 70 gallons of mildly soapy laundry soup.) The second is obviously not going to work very well. It'll get *some* dirt off, but nothing non-polar... no grease, oil, etc will be removed. There's a minimum concentration of soap/detergent, beow which it seems to be totally ineffective at loosening those non-polar molecules, and top-loaders use such an egregious amount of water that there's no way they can clean stains like that. This is why top loaders require you pre-treat stains and front loaders do not. It all comes down to the fact that water is not what cleans, it's detergent that cleans. Water is only used to move the detergent around and rinse it out of the fabric, so you want as little water as necessary to fully saturate everything. The problem with modern top loaders is they're bad at that. Top loaders can't move things around unless they're floating in a giant vat of deep water, so things don't get washed evenly or even fully saturated, and they also have no way of balancing without adding more water to float clothes around in... so their spin speeds are always much lower and as a result they also struggle to spin the detergent and rinse water out.

    I thought with the newer washers you had to keep the lid closed? We are looking for a washer that you can fill with water and put clothes in and let soak....then turn on after its filled up. Would this washer be able to do this?

  • @daniell6610
    @daniell6610 4 роки тому +1

    This did a decent job on the jeans. Of course, final spin was limited to 840 rpm (it determines the final spin RPM by the load size sensed; not sure exactly why).

      When you wash your hands, do you fill your bathtub all the way with water, add a squirt of soap, and then try to wash your hands in it? Clothes should be *saturated* not *immersed* and swimming in diluted, barely-soapy water... I have no idea where this top-load-deep-fill-fetish came from but if I had to guess, it's an American "freedom" thing... we're not truly free until the government lets us do a worse job washing our clothes with too much water. We should have the freedom to be frivilously wasteful with any and all resources, just like the electricity our vented, resistance electric heated dryers guzzle down trying to dry the sopping wet clothes our top loaders couldn't spin dry because top loaders can't even move the clothes around to balance them once the water is drained out! What a truly magnificent design for a washer. 😂

    So I am quite lost & amazed that manufactures have been able to get away with this version of agitation which does not seem to move the garments around enough all the pauses that it makes and load sensing continuously is just useless and I am not really sure who the engineers have gotten their data from no person wants to take an hour and 30 minutes to do one load of laundry you could wash and dry a full load of laundry in an hour in a traditional machine this is just excessive waste of consumer $$ & time. This model seems to do a better job over most others but still fails in comparison to old styles.

  • @booandsue

    These machines waste so much time. Why do all these agitation pauses need to happen, and the slow spins in one direction, then slow spin in opposite direction do for any cleaning to the clothes. It doesn't seem to do anything but take the laundry for an un-necessary ride. Then all the sensing crap at the beginning. I still plan to stick to my old world style washer that just fills machine with water, agitates for a times period, and spins the clothes out dry. You would think that as the years go by, that the technology of washing machines would improve, not go backwards. Imagine if we went back to having to launder baby diapers with these machines. I would not feel comfortable with the results of a load of loaded diapers washed in these newer type washers. Just saying.
