Love your videos and how you take your time articulating things about indys metro area. I’m from New Jersey and I’ve been living in Westfield for 3yrs now, I’ve explored the entire Indy metro area for months before moving here and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed. Indy and it’s metro is highly underrated and it gets a lot of negative reviews from people who really never been here. I was nervous about relocating here because prior to moving here I only knew the basics. I would highly recommend the metro area to anyone from any part of the country. Yes there’s things that can be improved on like a major attraction of some sort that’s nationally recognized other than sports and more unique dinning.
Really well done video! Between the drone footage, city and park shots, and all the editing that it might’ve taken, it turned out to be quite professional!
Yes I’d agree but 2x the cost to live there. We are trying to catch up over here! Beautiful place and we love it over there. We prefer Hamilton Proper. More for less. A little less, anyway.
I love in NE Lawrence, very close to Geist, Fishers, and Carmel. I rarely go west of Meridian Street, or south of 56th Street, because there's just no reason to do it. Everything I could want is here.
I deceded on Carmel when I moved here. On the traffic front Carmel traffic seems to spread out more. You have both 31 and Keystone going North/South instrad of just 69. Then in major surface streets Alisonville seems much busier than Rangeline or Pennsylvania.
The one negative about Carmel is the very noticeable snob culture. It exists in Fishers as well, to some degree, but Carmel is well-known in the area for this.
I noticed this big time. I'm from Logansport Indiana. My times in Carmel I noticed a lot of elitist attitudes. If you aren't in what appears to be brand spanking new clothes, people are hesitant to walk through if you hold the door for them. I thought I was being nice as it is common courtesy. Other parts of indy are trying to be Chicago 2.0 as well.
I would say fishers has just as much as Carmel, its just much more spread out and closer to the residential areas. And the other 2 big differences are economic diversity and lifestyle. Carmel is almost exclusively wealthy while fishers is pretty evenly split between middle class and wealthy. Carmel is very much geared towards the new urban lifestyle while fishers is more of a resort community. Fishers has 3 sports lakes and 2 beaches (Geist, saxony, stonebridge). Carmel doesn’t have any lakes or beaches but the architecture is more impressive.
what’s important to now is even if you’re in one you’ll switch between cities. they both have great things and you won’t be secluded to one besides housing
As a resident of western Carmel, my neiborhood is not overly wealthy and is about half white and half Asian. Lots of young families who moved here for the school district.
As someone who grew up in Carmel, its funny to see how many people get frustrated with roundabouts. They are safer and faster than stop light intersections and you will get used to them eventually. Carmel High School is great, I was in the choir program there, LOVED it. Pain in the ass to commute downtown, but they are about to change some major roads. Overall 8/10 for me, good place to live.
My wife and daughter like Fishers. I prefer Carmel. I say Fishers new money Carmel old money. Bottom line both nice towns to live in. I really did enjoy this video, very informative.
I think Carmel wins for more entertaining parks like the monon center & park and midtown just because there are more activities if your not into hiking and woods.
Hello. Excellent videos. And very educational. We are about to move in with my wives. We are 60 years old. And we have a good job. We want a quiet, clean place. With an extra room for the family who visit us from time to time. What do you suggest? What do you suggest?Where to go for rent or purchase? Thank you
with the traffic part u forget to mention the roundabouts in carmel I dont have a problem with them but some people find them difficult and frustrating to use so that could be an important part because carmel has the most roundabouts of any city in the us and there's not very many in fishers
I have 2 videos with one specifically about the roundabouts in Carmel while the other goes through the general infrastructure... which includes roundabouts. Carmel has an incredible amount!
If you like dealing with people that have superiority complexes both are great choices, experienced heavy racism in both areas, tons of I'm the most important person on the road at both. In summary if you have money and like to belittle others that don't you'll fit right in.
Hello. We are considering cashing out here in Queen Creek, AZ and moving to this area. Do you have any information on best area(s) for special needs families?
I lived in Fishers with a severely disabled son, and I can tell you from experience that the school system and parks there were much more accommodating than Carmel.
@@ronnied1172 Hello. We didn’t. We ended up staying. The resources in AZ as well as the ESA Scholarship here was just too hard to give up for our son with severe autism. Plus I was a little frightened of the tornados they have in Indiana. Best of luck to you.
@@thenickfamily7126 I hear you on the tornadoes. Besides this ridiculous heat wave we're experiencing, weather isn't all that bad. Thanks for the follow-up.
One thing both suburbs lack is any form of public transit. You pretty much have to drive everywhere. There are bike paths, especially in Carmel and you could bike to the Red line bus which will take you downtown Indianapolis, but that's about it. Driving to downtown I'd say Carmel is easier as for me anyway I have more options to get downtown (I 65 or 465 to I 70 while Fishers only offers the later meaning you have more options in case there is a traffic issue
I would disagree on the traffic analysis. Carmel is much better to drive in than Fishers. You can drive from NE to SW Carmel or NW to SE carmel without hitting a single stoplight, which spoils driving anywhere else for us.
Are you kidding Fishers is not even in the same league. Never heard Fishers mentioned as one of the best cities to live. If you can afford Carmel no brainer.
It was # 1 3 years ago in the Country. Also, we beat you in nearly everything concerning young people and excitement. For overpriced old people and small homes needing renovation, go to Carmel. For the future and an exciting and engaging life, Fishers is above and beyond. We created our own league. HP is in the majors compared to the old and overpriced C neighborhoods. All the best!

Appreciate you watching! I do agree with all you said. And, I'd like to see a little more improvement on major attractions other than sports as well.

Thanks! Appreciate that!
Native born Indianapolis Indiana resident. I have a goal to move to fishers eventually.
thanks planning a long weekend there !! I know we'll enjoy it!! we bike eat & drink leaning towards Carmel!!
Great! Would love to know what you think after the visit! I hope you have good weather when your'e there.
Carmel has and will always be the hot area. Been that way for decades.
It sure has. Not slowing down either.

Thanks! I feel like the maps help
@@LivingInIndianapolis yea I’ve lived in Carmel all my life but had never actually seen the border 😂
How is for night life and movie theaters or beaches ?
Great video. I-69 definitely divides Fishers, no "kind of" about it.
46038 to the West - Fishers HS.
46037 to the East - Hamilton SE HS.
Thanks Andy! You're right. There really isn't any "kind of" about it.

I'll take that over the culture out in East Indianapolis
I'm all about biking around to as many places as possible. Carmel is definitely for me.
Pls make video Westmoreland vs Noblesville
How about Lebanon? Any videos?
cops
I've been to Carmel twice. All the roundabouts took some getting used to!
Awesome comparison video! Could do the same with Westfield and Noblesville for sure. 👍
Thanks! And a comparison video between Westfield and Noblesville is certainly a good idea. I'll put it on the list!
or westfield and zionsville
- although zionsville is newer

I lived in Carmel back in the early 80s...this doesn't look familiar to me at all lol
@@rayjohnson2387 The roundabouts started to be added in the 90s.
@@harrisonschneider8333 and I think there's about 5x more people than when I lived there
Informative video, thank you for the comparison between the two cities.
You're welcome! There's a part two video as well. ua-cam.com/video/4LqLw3HaY4g/v-deo.html
As someone from Germany. Would you say its wearth moving to fishers when your plan is to move to the US ?
Depends on what you are looking for. Fishers is a great place to live but it isn't as exciting as some other places in the country.

How is the area by Eagle Pines 46236? It’s fairly close to HSE Schools correct ?
I’m just move to fishers, Thank you for all the information ❤
Great!
The big two out north!! 🥶
I'm in Carmel its beautiful and lots of rich definitely i like it
I'm so excited to live in Carmel, Indiana

Thank you for your objectivity! You present a very trustworthy point of reference!
Thanks Jann! Hope this helps.

Hello! I did send an email back your way
I have one sister living in Carmel and another living in Fishers and neither one of them are snobs
I have family in Carmel and in Fishers. They aren't snobs either.
How about fort branch is this place good to live?
Fort Branch in southern Indiana? Near Evansville?

My brother and his family live in Carmel. After going to both, I think Carmel is a little better... 😏
The only thing with Carmel are all the traffic circles. I've seen old-timers making a left on them many times.
I have not seen that but I will be aware.
I would include something about cost of living. (average rent or home per sq ft.)
Thanks! I do have a cost of living for Indianapolis video but not necessarily specific to any suburb

I was born in Carmel Indiana
❤❤
I wish both places was more diverse I’m black and I would be afraid to move to both places let’s talk about it
A good friend of mine just bought a house in Carmel..He is jumping ship from NY. I can’t really blame him NY is horrible on so man fronts!
I know several people coming from NY. It's certainly a different pace here!
Are you aware that there’s a whole world out there!
Carmel is far superior imo
I’m honestly a fishers person.
You all live in Disney world
I’ll take Noblesville.

Both are uninspiring to me…but that’s fine. Bloomington is the only worthwhile place in Indiana.
That’s mean! Indiana is awesome.
