I completely changed my life AFTER not listening to people on social media lol!!! And I'm SO much better off and happier with where I am now! This is so true. I think as Christians we can fall into comparing ourselves to other Christians and what they are doing. I know this relates to all homemakers, but as a Christian I've constantly compared myself to other Christians and often times the lingo used is "God says this" and that has happened with educational choices, holidays, discipline etc!! Just my opinion! We need to seek God for answers and not feel we need to "check in" with others for our life decisions.
You hit the nail, too much input is a detriment to discovering our own personal style, whether that be parenting, homemaking, etc. We all do better when we put down the screens and just live our lives, explore, be creative, try something and see if it works, fail, and try again. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas Daisy!
Definitely the social media is a factor! I know as a mom it is my duty to bring up my daughters to know and understand the role of being a godly homemaker. Thanks Daisy 💜
Your outdoor scenery is so beautiful. Bingo!-Social media overload-Following someone else's life on social media. This is something I pulled back on in 2023 however I'm going to pull back even more for my family dynamic in 2024. 🌻
My mom was a stay at home, homeschooling mom. However - I still relate to this video with the bouncing around. I thought I had everything figured out and then I had kids. They made me change, pivot, reassess my parenting many times. I totally agree with the information overload. It’s so hard to avoid it too cause I go on my phone during my breaks/relaxing time.
My mom didn't stay home and because of that I knew nothing about anything. 😂😅 I had to learn by my MIL and youtube. Oh the intake of information is so real!!!!!! I have said it so many times that we have it the hardest because we have social media that we have to worry about with our kids, but it's hard on us too. We can get online and see all the things and start comparing and then I try to do what everyone else is doing or I feel awful. I will also just shut everything down and then stay in a bubble. Which isn't good as well. But man, it's hard seeing information all the time hearing everyone's opinions and tips. You feel like you are just spinning and spinning and your life is insane. 😅 I love that you talked about this. Because man...this was so true!!!! Lol
I appreciated your last video because I DO completely relate to the things you talked about AND I haven't ever run across any other videos where anyone talks about it. So I found your video not only helpful in a practical way, but it was helpful in a theraputic way. I realized: "Oh, I am not the only one who feels this way." It felt really good to have my feelings voiced.
You make some great points! I definitely had information overload right after having kids because I was trying to figure out so much on my own. I followed all the mommy bloggers, then the Instagram and Facebook pages and groups. It wasn’t until after getting rid of them that I could cut down to just the bits that really worked for my family. It can still be a bit challenging to limit the intake of information, but making set times for slow or no activities daily has done wonders.
It’s deeply ironic to me that the algorithm gave me this video and the whole time I nodded along like “YES I DO NEED TO STOP LISTENING TO STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET” while I’m listening to a stranger on the internet 😂
This is great insight. Thank you for sharing your thoughts . We have to know we are on our own journey , learning and growing as moms. I think the best we can do is ask God to give us wisdom. May He lead us in this beautiful mission He has given us...And I love the way you expressed this. Just because everyone is doing it doesn't mean it's right for our families. 🙏💗💕☺️
Daisy! This was so good! Crazy you have to have the disclaimer but this video here was so spot on! I have a video on this topic planned soon! Thanks for opening up this discussion.
I love this Daisy so good if u ever need any advice I'm here also I wonder is there any advice on being consistent like homeschooling is not easy we went a super duper cheap route so we work with the bare minimum but I want to learn how to be consistent not just with HS but with everything lol 😂😅😭😭😭😭

Yes!! 🙌 Everyone has different convictions and I think when we have too much noise coming in we don’t take time to listen to the Holy Spirit.

Yes! I think there is a right balance for each of us but sometimes we just need a complete break to figure it out.

Yes! I think it can be good for the reasons you shared about getting helpful info but it can quickly become too much.
Yes!!! I can absolutely & totally relate to everything you said. Glad I found your channel.

😂😂😂 very true!!
My mom stayed home and she was one of the few! She often babysat for the women in neighborhood whose kids needed a sitter hehe! 😊❤
