She has so much class. I love the way she won't trash him. She is just honest and real. She loved him, and she still wants the best for him. She could be filled with bitterness and anger, but instead she is making this experience as positive as it can be with such raw honesty and integrity. Someone is going to be very lucky to get to date and one day marry her.

I think the reason that this situation has hit Home with so many women is because so many of us have been love bombed and gaslighted by a man in a very confusing way. Most the time people hide the pain of this sort of situation behind their ego, but Jenn put it all out there in authentic real way! I think we are collectively pissed because it’s happened to so many of us kind hearted women. It’s a complete and utter mindfuck. Thank you, Jenn for discussing so openly and with heart this relationship theme. I’m surprised the word sociopath didn’t come up in this conversation but Jenn, you are a truly kind and wonderful person. You deserve that deep love! And I hope you do find it in a library!!! ❤

I haven't watched the bachelor franchise shows in years but I actually decided to watch Jenn season and I like her and I feel sad for her. I wished she picked Johnathan hopefully they can rekindle.

He was fake from the beginning. I kept saying he didn't seem genuine. Then, towards the end when he was crying about how much he loved her and could not live without her I thought maybe I was wrong. Nope. I was not wrong.
It really sucks that there are people out there that will say deep, loving, intimate things and not kean it at all. It's so gross. I'm glad I can usually apot it right away. Poor Jen. She needs to maybe let the people close to her help her out because her intuition is failing her.

I only watched the last episode of the season and what I noticed is that guy wouldn’t look at her family (or even Jen) When he talked much of the time.
That told me somethings off , he’s hiding something , that he’s not being real , that he was lying for whatever reasons.

I am trying to read her. I am so interested to see what she says in two years, after she is off of the NDA. One spot, how would she not know any of the Marcus allegations. She wanted to marry the guy. How would she not have looked him up after she finished filming.
To be honest, I think she was very preoccupied with Devin. I don't think she cared much about Marcus after he went home.

I found throughout the show that Devon showed hints that he wasn't fully invested. Like the part where he said he would leave if Jenn kept her ex in the house, or even at the end when he didn't get the I love you confession from Jenn that he was ready to just give up amd break up with her when meeting at her room until she actually did confess to him
I totally agree. One thing women need to learn is a red flag is a show of jealousy before a strong connection is really formed. It indicates possessiveness from ego, and therefore can't be *true* jealousy stemming from attachment. He felt threatened by these other men long before he knew if he truly liked Jenn, which suggests an ego problem.

Honestly, I love Joey but I really want Jenn to win. I think she has what it takes and she deserves this moment honestly. And even objectively speaking, Jenn seems like a much better dancer than Joey so hopefully she makes it at least further than him.

She fell in love with the person she thought he was, and the person he wanted her to think he was . its more than shameful what he did ,the guys tried to give her warnings and they were totally right about him, he so so not a real Man who would do that to a person who poured her heart out toooo. After seeing the texts that Devin posted, I feel Jenn is gaslighting everyone by acting like she was an angel and saying "I will fight for somebody that I love" and yet she tried to break up with him more than once via text and he was more mature and said let's take some time and talk about it and he was reinforcing the love. Jenn was very needy/clingy and yes we don't know the WHOLE story but the texts that he showed give a whole new perspective on the matter. There are 3 sides to every story - her side, his side, and the truth somewhere in the middle.

The dude was seeing someone. If he couldn’t cancel the Mexico trip. That would have been a sign that you were not his number one. Someone on another show said a red flag still looks good with rose colored glasses.
His cold energy at the reunion def gave “there’s another woman” vibes. Even his behavior and his lack of real explanations. He was sparing another person’s feeling just as much I feel.

There's two sides to every story I'm just pretty shocked on how everybody's taking her side because he left her. Me personally I think it was an act she put on stage. She got on a red I went to New York City and was the happiest person on Earth an hour later? 🙄
@@evas1968 She has to fake it until she makes it. She was heart broken, but DWTS is a great opportunity regardless of recent heartbreak and it's just a lot of activity and very physical so it's a great distraction vs sitting at home going over and over what went wrong on The Bachelor.

He disengaged and broke it off before the show aired but he has come out since and claimed that he became colder with Jenn post-breakup after watching the aired footage. I suspect this is a rare instance of honesty from him and believe that he was angered by seeing Jenn's attachment to Marcus.
Devin totally gives me the "ick"... From day one. You're better than me to be able to move on and say nothing, because I would be trashing him, lol! The person you loved didn't exist.
I think he started seeing this ex gf or whoever the girl he’s been seen with but also him messaging other women I just don’t think he cared after the shows. He just wanted to win and once the show was over he lost interest. It’s unfortunate but glad Jenn dodged a bullet.

Ugh this poor girl. I believe she will meet her person one day. Devin was so far from it, it’s unbelievable that he was the one that she picked. He said all the right things, did all the right things…and she trusted in that. It says a lot that she’s taking a break from dating while he was trying to date everyone from bachelor nation pretty much the next day. Absolutely pathetic.
Marcus has multiple DV and SA allegations.
I try to look at both sides and try to find the logic in things. Granted, I wasn't a Devin fan, but this guy was all in. His biggest fear though was that she'd say she loved someone else when she wasn't saying it to him, and she did, to two people. He was her backup guy, her sure thing, but not really the one she pined for. After the show, as he's bros with the final 4, you know they talked. I've no doubt he was told that she'd said ily to others and didn't say it to him until he freaked and pressed her (like she did to Marcus). He felt like 3rd choice and as he was cheated on before, that affected him, understandably. He was probably told all about fantasy suites too. So he struggles and can't sort it out in himself and he loses what he had for her. Then, she's being kinda clingy, chasing, wanting more contact, with her own fear of abandonment, not fully trusting, and the self-sabotage begins. There's no way to get back on track after all those things from a distance. I can see how this broke down so quickly. We saw her chase Sam and Marcus, determined to get them to be what she wanted, and failed. We saw Devin get in his head about not being top choice and not hearing ily back. It was rather inevitable they'd both get in their own way and sabotage it. After talking to his bros, he knew his fear had come true and after he stepped back to process, her fear came true. They both could use some therapy as those issues run deep, and they'll have to overcome them before they're ready for a commitment to anyone. This is also why the lead should NEVER say ily to any of them until the last rose. She said it trying to get them to say it, but then when Marcus did, it was under duress really so she couldn't trust it. Devin required no chase, no convincing, no 'please love me' and that's what she equates with love because that's what she always had to do. If she's 'fighting' for it, it must be real, right? Not her fault, just her experience. There was no passion with Devin because it was too easy so she didn't know how to work with that. His only dealbreaker was needing to be first choice and her not telling anyone else she loved them, esp before she told him, and she did that. Saying she always leads with love and empathy, well, we didn't see that here on ATFR.
The thing I noticed on the ATFR was he took the high road and wouldn't disrespect her while she had her finger in his face accusing him of many things as though she had no culpability and didn't really let him speak without getting in his face. That said a lot to me. He took the hit so she didn't have to. I admire that. I've no doubt he didn't tell her all the reasons for his distant behavior or what the bros told him really went down so she was confused and didn't understand and was nagging him incessantly about calling her and keeping in contact and seeing her, etc., when he was just trying to heal his heart and decide if he could get past it all. Their confrontation styles are clearly very different and the more she came at him, the further he retreated and rather than explain, just said, tellingly, "I couldn't be what you expected" and "I couldn't be what you needed". Yet she was tossing out every slight against him. Oh no, he followed Maria after they broke up. She sounded pretty harpy really. Much like she did with Sam when she realized he just wanted to sleep with her and didn't actually care about her for herself or Marcus when she couldn't get him to mold into what she wanted when she wanted it because he was afraid he had nothing to offer her of value so he was afraid to love her and disappoint her, and he was right. He was not the one. I can see her harping at Devin the same way, as she 'chose' him, albeit by default, so he should snap to and be the man she expected, but he knew he wasn't her first choice and didn't know how to get past that. Whether he told her that or not, who knows, but there's nowhere to really go from all that. They both deserved better really. But until some therapy happens, they're not likely to get it. I don't mean to be harsh on Jenn, I adore her, but she's not blameless here and needs to see her own actions in the mix of that breakup. He was very clear about the one thing that would make him walk, and that's the one thing she did, whether she understands that or not. So maybe don't hate on Devin so much for his own insecurities about abandonment and wanting to be top choice to someone he wasn't top choice to. There was no reason for her to shred him like that and make the world hate him just because he was never the right choice for her, or her first choice. A graceful exit is always the best. I fully expected this ending, but I was disappointed in how she handled it. It was self-serving and unkind and rather clueless to his side of that story. He was never for her and that's ok.
Truly a big part of the problem this season is the quality of guys they picked for her. Only a couple were even handsome, and they were idiots. There was no scenario wherein she could come out of this happy with this lot of men. I blame casting for that. They did her dirty and she made the best of what she had to work with going in. None of them were ready for a healthy relationship.
What if there isn't really one? So many men are like Devin which is why her harping on him was so satisfying to watch. It represents all of us girls who have experienced this. A lot of men are emotionally aloof, which is why they're always dangling an engagement ring over our heads if we're good enough to be CHOSEN. Storytime, my ex dumped me out of nowhere with no explanation. We had such an amazing relationship, barely any fights or arguments and always was happy; at least I thought. I was blindsided! He didn't give me a reason, but after seeing how his life played out on social media, he just wanted to have fun and mess around. And that's the sad truth that men do not want to admit to us that they think they can do better physically with another woman. And yes, it makes them out to be the bad guy when they openly admit it. I had to grapple with the truth that I was never gonna be good enough for him, and I understand why he didn't want to tell me, because it hurts. I think this is how Devin feels. Jenn is not his type. He prefers Maria or Daisy. And his exes are usually white women. Imagine telling Jenn and bachelorette nation that...

I also suspected something along these lines. However I'm a bit more forgiving about Jenn. One could argue that we witnessed a condensed version of Jenn's relationship evolution.
She moved from the thick hot guy to the unavailable & finally woke up and arrived at the healthy choice and being VALUED.
The Bachelorette is supposed to be a journey.
I do think the top 4 talked even before the season aired and Devon lost respect for her and felt played.
However, he should have handled everything with more grace. He knows what he signed up for and he knew his abrupt withdrawal would be painful and humiliating.
Plus it's not fair to expect a 26 year old to achieve the kind of personal growth in 8 weeks, that it takes a lifetime for most women with absent Fathers to achieve.

The thing is that the premise of the show is to date multiple guys at the same time. Unless you're extremely lucky and find "The One" on the first night, then the relationships are going to progress similar to real life where the one guy you are initially attracted to turns out to be merely physical (Sam M) and another guy you cannot crack emotionally (Marcus), etc. As she eliminated the guys, she realized Devin was giving her what she thought she wanted as he was saying all the words she wanted to hear. Unfortunately, Devin came off as a master manipulator and con man. Now, can it be said his ego couldn't take what he watched? Yes, big possibility. But pretty much every season, there's always an F1 and an F2 and people are always questioning the two remaining options and wondering why the lead chose who they did and how they could so after all the audience saw went down. It's pretty formulaic for this franchise. Assuming it was ego, it's how he responded to it all that shows his emotional immaturity - did he even discuss those feelings with her before reacting the way he did by doing a 180? And I totally agree with your last paragraph. I saw the line up of men for the season before it began and was like, "These men are the worst looking ever casted!"...then they opened their mouths and sealed the deal on how unattractive they are on the inside as well.

A little disappointed that Jenn completely dismissed the Marcus allegations because it wasn’t “her” experience with him. She didn’t have to act like she believed the allegations, but that was an opportunity to address that abuse of any kind is not ok regardless of if it’s true or not.
There's something about her. It seems if it doesn't go her way.. she's going to go after you. I think it was a little bit of an act on stage I think she's a little immature I have never cried alone in front of one person then all those people... There's two sides to every story..
Probably difficult for her to say that if she had a great and positive experience with him. Until she sees his true colors, she can only judge based upon her personal experience with him. She literally didnt even deny them or dismiss anyone elses experience. At the end of the day she can only speak about HER experience. Plus this isnt even something she should have to speak on.. it should be on producers and or Marcus himself..
