    My biggest takeaway from this video - sticky sheets. I use it for my mold-making process, didn't think of using it for laser. Thanks!

    wow, some great designs. Love the sticky -adhesive paper. I been using the 8 x 11 sheets. Super job again Nick. Thanks for all the cool ideas, I just gotta find the time to make them. 😀

    How do separate the layers in the design process?

    I"m thinking spray adhesives. There are different grades, but I have not done this before so I fee that there is something I'm missing.

    Thanks for the video! Great tip about the double sided tape! I am just about starting and was planning to use some wood glue but tape seems much better idea for larger projects. I am confused about the inability of diode lasers to cut acrylic sheets. I just got the printer from creality (diode 22w) and it has specifications for cutting and engraving acrylic sheets. So it possible on diodes? Thanks!

    • @SixEightWoodworks
      @SixEightWoodworks  Місяць тому

      Diode machines can definitely cut acrylic, they’re just usually limited on the color options. Clear, glittery, and some colors don’t work. So definitely test out before buying a bunch of a particular color. Loads of variables and some tricks though.

    Great information..
    I just have a quick question about the double sided tape..
    Does this add a large cost to your build?
    Thanks..

      It can with larger projects or loads of layers. For me it’s worth it to get a perfect look.

    • @SixEightWoodworks
      @SixEightWoodworks  Місяць тому

      The double sided adhesive sheets really help. You have a little play to adjust sections that aren’t in alignment. With glue, it’s there or it’s not:

      I made a 12x19 peg board with my laser. I cut down bamboo skewers for the pegs, so I sized my holes for them. I spaced them pretty close together, there's probably somewhere between 1500-2000 holes (I didn't count lol, just kept filling up the space). Place the bottom layer on the board, and the outline it with as many pegs as can get to hit right at the edges all around, the tighter the better. After that, you slide each layer down into the peg outline and down onto the previous layer. Since I started doing that, lining up the edges has become a breeze!
      I hope I explained that well, a picture would definitely help lol.

      @@chadtuggle9814 Chad, this is a great idea, I may have to try this..I struggle to get layers lined up as well.

    • @chadtuggle9814
      @chadtuggle9814 Місяць тому +1

      @swishair thanks, I was too!! I also take a black marker to the edges of the lower layers, so if it still isn't perfect, you can't tell just by looking at it, since any peeking out will blend in with the burnt outside edges

    its very time consuming to do so its have sense if you have 2-3 low paid workers , or nothing will pay you good money
