Good conversation guys. Bloodywood typically don't use as much electronics/synths on their music, that part is very BABYMETAL. Koba is a producer on this song, and I think that, while remaining a Bloodywood song and staying true to their style, it still has enough BM flavor, so it feels very familiar to their fans.

I would say it's similar kind of feature as Kingslayer from BMTH, BMTH also took Babymetal's style elements and tried to make it their own.

@@autohmae BMTH are known for using lots of electronic elements in their music. BM fit very well in that, but both bands are musically similar (particularly when talking about post-Sempiternal BMTH).
Bloodywood otoh, seldom use electronic elements. The heavy use of that in Bekhauf is the result of both bands blending their styles, as they still have BW's signature groovy riffs.

This is unusual, I found myself agreeing with Howard (about 'Bekhauf', not about 'Oh! Majinai', that song is pure fun and the fact they got Joakim just singing "nai nana nai nai nai nai nai" is also very funny).
'RATATATA' does have more of a BABYMETAL feel to it than 'Bekhauf' even though it is very much in the EC style - that is clearly a collaboration and not a feature.
Most importantly the 'RATATATA' tune immediately got stuck on repeat in my head after just one listen (this may be what gives it the more BABYMETAL feel). I have listened to 'Bekhauf' so many times, but once it finishes I can't remember the tune or melody until I listen to it again - I just don't find it "catchy" and catchy is the norm for BABYMETAL songs.
I am not a big fan of growling and harsh vocals - they are fine used sparingly as highlights and with context (like in 'Kingslayer'), or with humour as happens in 'RATATATA'. I don't dislike the harsh vocals in 'Bekhauf' (they are not just screaming at me, I did find a bit of melody in there too), but it is just a bit too much harsh, nowhere near enough Su-metal for my own preferences. That is where 'Kingslayer' works so well, BMTH really did use BABYMETAL so much more and so much better with Su carrying a lot of the song's vocals.
The best part of 'Bekhauf' was the short interlude with Bloodywood finally bringing in one of their traditional Indian instruments followed by Su's vocal section. More of that would have been good.
I don't watch anime and, although the MV for 'Bekhauf' is very good, it turns out that I don't particularly like anime style visuals ... I had no idea that was the case before now.

Leave it all behit is my favorite Babymetal collab. It sounds like a Babymetal song

For me, it's very much feels similar to Kingslayer, the band takes ideas from Babymetal and incorporates it in their own song and has a Babymetal feature. I also think agree with Howard, that the Bloodywood song Babymetal feature could have been more Babymetal style. I love the song, but it could have been even better
Metallica also has the potential to be a meh song, because the hype would not life up to the result.
Raoul the rapper also was invited to become a Bloodywood member because of his lyrics writing.
Bloodywood is 'self made' UA-cam/Patroen success, which is a pretty unique thing to happen.
The 'hating' on Lil Uzi Vert song/feature is kind of sad, because it's pretty much a Paledusk song, trying to be do the Babymetal style with a feature of Lil Ui Vert and Babymetal, very much influenced by Gimme Choco. And let's remember Kobametal brought in the Paledusk songwriter. And from a recent interview I understood he's a long time Babymetal fan as well.

I agree, also about the Lil Uzi Vert song. It may not be the best, but it didn't sound much like a song I would expect to hear from a rapper. I get the impression that a lot of people hate on the idea of Lil Uzi Vert more than the song itself, but then by association they decide they must also dislike the song.

@@autohmae Yes he did - but 'PA PA YA' didn't get the same amount of hate as 'The End'. I wonder if a live performance would change that.

my personal opinion The ONLY good collab with Babymetal the the ones where is was just a guest instrumentalist. Ever song that featured another artist singing ( ro Babymetal singing on someone elses song ) have been bad again in my personal opinion and tastes. I feel they need to stop all the collabs and just make their own BABYMETAL songs.

    • @Tyyppl

It's kind of funny since I feel the exact opposite. Most of the pure instrumental collabs have been underwhelming for me. Like Metali is a great song but Tom Morello adds pretty much nothing to it in my opinion. I guess Brand New Day is the only pure instrumental collab that I really like. And on the other hand I really love pretty much all the songs with vocal collabs. Well except for maybe Oh Majinai and Distortion. Once again Distortion is a fine song on it's own but I really don't feel like Alissa from Arch Enemy adds anything to it:D

@ The instrumentation not having an effect on the songs may be way I like those collabs ... I am very vocal focused when I listen to music .. not lyrics vocals the sound of the human voice. I find all the vocal performances of the various babymetal collabs to clash with what I personal like. For me fabulous instrumentals cannot save a mediocre vocalist while a fabulous vocalist can save mediocre instrumentation.
