"Upon reaching the main city within 1-2 hours into the game" I barely made it out of character creation within 2 hours O.o
@@longlostcoder6322 You know what, I literally never thought of that. Makes at a bit more sense as LOTR, seeing as Hiryu and the strider vocation are basically ninjas.
The main problem this game had was that it came out at around the same time as Skyrim, and completely flew under the radar. Hears to hoping it gets the attention it deserves this time around, I mean this was Capcom's first attempt at a fantasy rpg and they did it right, show them some recognition. On a side note I was planning to just remake my old character and pawn when this came out but after re watching Kono Suba for the 800th time I want to make a Megumin pawn, now I want to recruit pawns that look like the whole cast. Will anyone be making pawns that look like Darkness, Wiz, YunYun anyone? I know some one out there got this same idea.
I think they did an amazing job, considering it was their first attempt! Compared to Skyrim being the... what, fifth Elder Scrolls game? And the third to use the same formula after Morrowind/Oblivion. There's so much potential in Dragon's Dogma, that's why I really want a sequel!

Mage is ok but if you want to see what other vocations are like then check out Nihil 0.0's vocation schematic videos it's all fun end game depending on what you like to play and how you like to play.
Bartłomiej Sopata solo warrior is hands down the most fun. And it doubles as a challenge run since they have such a limited moveset. Though you don't need anything except for Exodus slash, pommel strike, jumping lights and jumping heavys. Also can't forget about dat sweet sweet arc. Most satisfying move I've ever used in any game. Really wish it scaled more with str instead of just having super high base damage.
Same kinda. Tried it on PS3, wasn’t digging it at the time and barely made it to the main city before quitting. Now I’m totally sinked in it on the Switch!
They went with quality over quantity and fleshed out all vocations, man I hope I live to see Dragon's Dogma 2 one day with even deeper questing and possibly choices and branching paths to make for even more replayability
Yeah I don't think DD2 would need them adding 3457 vocations, but I'd like if they added some, as well as adding some new aspects to help further flesh out the existing ones. As for new vocations... I'd like to see a spear-using vocation, perhaps a fist weapon/unarmed vocation and then some sort of new magic one.
Great guide, i hope you don't mind if i add some thoughts :) Mages have extremely bad hp growth; they basically get the same stat growth as Sorcerers but with less hp so you'll get lower stats overall between Level 10-100 (and between 100-200 it's more balanced but the stats you get are less with each level so it really matters a lot). I still think Warriors are the worst class, like you said, but Mages give them a run for their money... lol About Warriors, while i basically agree with 3:58 and 4:30, they have one strength that really sets them apart for early-to mid-game, which is that they have extremely powerful single hits. That ends up mattering against bosses with tons of defence, especially in BBI, who take basically no damage from certain Vocations because they lack exactly that, a single powerful hit to break past the enourmous defenses. I've had a experience where as a MK i couldn't damage a BBI boss *at all* even though i constantly hit it for 10-15 minutes (the hp bar took almost no visible damage), then my Main Pawn who was a Warrior landed one Arc of Deliverance and took off one and a half full health bars. Also, props for pointing out 5:38, Ranger Pawns are OP because of their aim, a friend of mine who runs the DD subreddit has a optimized Ranger Pawn and after employing it for a while it's broken lol. Though i'm unsure how much Inclinations matter, i've never seen it make such a huge difference i could tell without looking at the menu excepting Nexus ofc (tho it's probably just me lol). 6:48 i've yet to meet anyone who prefers Shield and Daggers over Sword and Bow... idk what it is, maybe just that it looks really cool while Shield and Dual Daggers... yeah. 7:50 Yea the Magick Archer is straight-up the best class in the game, they have a Double Jump, Instant Reset, can levitate and have a skill that employs a automatic jump (Sunflare), which can be canceled with Instant Reset and refreshes once you jump, allowing you to reach heights no other class can reach. They also have a skill that kills everything in Bitterblack Isle thanks to the Corridors (Ricochet Hunter), Ninefold Bolts two-shots Eliminators and Living Armors without buffs while Warriors always have a 15 minute fight, they can equip what feels like 90% of Armor (including two of the three Level 3 sets), and like you said they have a skill for basically every situation. They even have access to a Magick Attack and Defense buff that can be stacked for 4 times (basically infinite periapts) and its a Dagger skill so they dont even have to give up a Magick Bow Skillslot. Then you have the Warrior who only has 3 Sword skills and a single jump. FeelsBadMan (if you need more convincing, look up "Magick Archer vs the World on YT", someone did a great demonstration lol 8:10 one of the coolest vocations
Top Waifu on most of those points i agree but there are 2 that are dead wrong. Incs are extremely important. Without them pawns will sometimes stand there and do nothing when you need them too. And on the next note mystic knight can do more damage then magic archer if you lvl right and know how to use the class. Back on 360 i had 7 characters and my mystic was the best out of all of them.
Yeah, the thing about Mystic Knight is that you really need to understand the skills to do anything... at all. The basic attacks are absolutely terrible, I played Mystic Knight for ages and I just couldn't get it to do ANYTHING compared to when I played Warrior. Eventually I started to get the hang of it - you just need to be doing counters all the time, and that Stone Jungle ability (and magic cannon spam if you feel like!) But yeah they really do suffer from a skill bloat and not enough slots to put them in. Warrior having the opposite problem, but on the bright side, any Warrior can usually get by with pommel strike, escape slash (I forget the exact name) and then a third skill of choice, being arc of deliverance or that whirlwind uppercut thing. Pommel strike itself mostly being good as it's so fast you can use it to stagger an enemy to follow up with other attacks.
Noob tip : Paths often splits so be doubly sure which one you're taking. Oh another tip : When your pawn grabs hold of an enemy and screams at you to finish it.....do it. Very satisfying
I just bought it arisen for the switch! Can you help me with something? Your pawn is gonna go with you all along the game? (not the ones you hire) for example. Im going strider and my pawn tanky?
The specialty of Warriors is staggering. Equip dual Barbed Nails, jack your Strength up as much as possible, and you can keep even the biggest monsters flat in their backs
I have been playing as a mystique knight for quite a long time,so now I switched to magic archer...loving it as well, the hybrid vocations are awesomeee....
Starter tip: don't pick mage as your first vocation unless you know what you're doing. Otherwise you're in for a world of hurt. Strider and Fighter can be picked up easily whereas mage can be difficult for a beginner.
xD4B00TYB4ND1Tx Zuricks I was going to pick Mage , I've not played the game before but consider myself quite seasoned in this genre . What do you think ?
The mage is the most complicated of the three classes. They can heal, buff, and cleanse their allies of debuffs like poisons or curses, and they can also destroy they enemies with the power of frost, fire, and lightning. Sounds cool right? It can be, however there are drawbacks. Pitiful physical damage and defense (in a game where 90% of the enemies deal physical damage its a good idea to have at least DECENT physical damage) no mobility aside from an ability that let's you float. Why would you want to float when you could double jump or roll? They also have the lowest health gain per level of all the classes. Its especially difficult to play as a mage in hard mode, as getting one shot by enemies isn't anything new, you can't dodge attacks or block them with a shield, you have to rely on good positioning and pawns who know what they're doing (more often than not they're doing something completely random like extracting minerals or gathering herbs in the middle of combat) so yeah, I don't reccomend playing a mage until you've picked up on the mechanics of the game and the strengths and weakness of your allies and foes.
Mages are definitely a lot harder to start with than the other two classes, partially due to the split-role they play, and also because of the unique way casting is managed in this game. Sometimes I feel like it might be a good idea to start as a Fighter for 1-10 for an eventual caster, if only so you can get some extra health / defence stats. But really, you can do whatever! I think Strider is the most fun class to start with, as it has both melee/ranged options, the double jump and is quite easy to get into.
I remember the first time I got Focused Bolt skill for my sorcerer, I melted everything after and it felt awesome XD will probably play a sorcerer again. Thanks for the video!
Thanks so much for this video. I'm a total newcomer to this game but got randomly excited for it with the upcoming remaster arriving on console. This vid is invaluable for showing me all the varying paths as well as whetting my appetite for the amazing combat in store for me soon.
If it isn't a bother, could you make a more comprehensive guide on stat growth and choosing the right classes to make a particular class powerful in the endgame?
That largely depends on what build you'll be going for - but I suppose for the most part it'll come down to whether you want Attack or Magick Attack - Assassin has the best Attack gains, Sorcerer has the best Magick Attack gains. stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/ & dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Stat_Growths will help you out there. The second link seems to have all the stat growths, which is useful.
Also, a large portion of your damage comes from your equipment anyway. Unless you’re just really into min/maxing (I know some people really enjoy that), it doesn’t affect a lot of your experience :)
The best vocation for my playstyle is assassin, it's basically just a strider but with the ability to use masterful kill as a get out of jail free card and counter nearly any and all physical attacks, even the charging of the minotaur type enemies in dark arisen.
Came for the guide, stayed for the rediculously soothing voice. Like I literally require an audiobook read by this person. Also the guide itself was really helpful!
Quite a few people have brought up the audiobook thing haha, it always entertains me because I listen to a lot of them, it helps with my insomnia (you'd not think that having someone talk at you helps you sleep compared to silence but oh well I guess my brain's dumb)
It’s 2020 and for the first time I’m sinking my teeth into Dragon’s Dogma and I honestly think Dragon’s Dogma is what I wanted Skyrim to be. There are pros with both games but damn if DD doesn’t scratch that itch
Only advise for people not really min-maxing but still sort of want to go there but not really and wants to experiment a bit: Just choose either physical damage dealers or magic dealers when you start. They have like 4 classes each as shown in the video.
I have the game for both Xbox one x and switch. I’m just starting out and I know it’s an old game, but I really appreciate this video. You’ve done a great job, breaking down the different vocations. Excellent video! I’m subscribing. Thank you again!
A word to new players: Don't worry about min-maxing. The game is loose enough that you can pretty much play whatever you want and still come out on top as far as you pass the many gear checks in the late game. Worrying about leveling as this vocation or that is a surefire way to optimise the fun out of this game if you're not already the kind of player who's into that kind of obsessive stat manipulation. I've played through this game a few times and cleared all content without ever worrying about having perfectly min maxed stats and it was still a blast.
Man this game is so awesome - and vocations like Magic Archer and Mystic Knight just underlined it. For a beginner I'd say don't care about min-maxing and just enjoy the game the way you want, but as someone who has 200h in this game I highly appreciate your video since I am going to do a somewhat min-maxed run now.
There is one thing i wanna say about warrior that i think you forgot to mention The warrior is while not only the most tankies *in my opinion* it is also the simplest and easy to use one because all you need to do is swing your sword. For those not good with spell casting timing blocks aiming with the bow and things like that.
Magic Archer is hands down the best class in the game, the ricochet arrows will kill everything in a small cramped space, and I mean EVERYTHING even Death O_O
It is the most fun and broken class I've played. No enemy was able to survive 10 minutes. I just laughed whenever I killed enemies that once gave me trouble with ease.
Honestly, I would say that the damage warriors can do *does* in many cases make up for their lack of versatility. If you've seen/actually yourself fought a drake or dragon with a warrior, they are fantastic for capitalizing on the dragons vulnerability moments.
Warriors can do huge damage, but then if you wanna get off an Arc of Deliverance, you do need good timing and all that. An Assassin meanwhile, could either do similar damage from range with the bow, or use Dire Gouge etc with a sword to do even more DPS. I think, for the Warrior's lack of versatility, they would need to have even higher damage + more hyper armour / health etc to make up for it.
Blast arrows make things easy mode. Basically god mode. Even without blast arrows or periapts, rangers tenfold is as powerful as any other skill in the game. Entire rooms can be cleared in 1 flurry.
Was unsure about dropping a like or not because I was just reminding myself of lost knowledge but that last line was perfect, I'll subscribe just for that.
Great video for starting people off with a vocation that suits their playstyle. I have logged around 800 hours in this game across two platforms and three characters, and the snippet versions of each class here are spot on. And I totally agree about the Warrior. Super fun to play, even if it's a little lame to only get three skill slots. I feel like that was one of the few areas the game really dropped the ball. I also think it's funny that one of the best Magick Archer skills is not even an attack, but one that cures all debuffs on your team (including Drenched!) and makes them immune for a good minute or so. Wanna go trudging around in the waters of the Miasmic Haunt? Here you go!
You will still want a few levels of fighter and ranger even with their limitations because of their gains to health and stamina when leveling. Then, decide on weather you want to focus on magic (sorcerer) or strength (assassin for arisen or warrior/fighter for main pawn). Then, once you hit 100 change to what you want your real class to be. Should make you fairly strong no matter your path.
first 10 levels go either fighter toward strength, strider toward hybrid and mage towards magic. Then 30 levels of warrior, 30 levels of ranger and then 30 levels towards your focus stat. Then 100 levels of your final class. Fairly easy to do and should make a strong character without the headache of min/maxing.
Here is the funny thing. I just started playing this last night. I thought I was just having to decide between 3.... haha... I am sooo freaking pumped!
I will play this game for the first time soon when the Switch version come out. I will definitely choose sorcerer for my main character and I plan to make my partner a tank that hopefully takes aggro, withstand attacks whilst also dealing damage. I thought about making him a warrior but is a basic fighter overall better for such a task?
just a quick tip after you kill the dragon for the first time SWITCH TO HARD MODE gold will be much easier to get and you will level 3 times as fast hard mode isn't as hard as it seems you just don't want to get hit by anything (a bandit one shots my ranger only lvl 30 charachter and bats deal 100 damage per hit)
In all seriousness though, ANY class is viable and fun to play depending on your playstyle. Like the famous Blacksmith in the game "once"(lol) said "They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong."
The biggest tip i can give is this game is not like dark souls, you cannot just equip whatever mixed armor and weapon for fashion to do well. Everyone at the end game wears the same set of armor of their class. Second half of main game and the DLC levels becomes super gear focus and you HAVE TO use the absolute strongest weapon to make a dent in them. This is those kind of RPG where you need ****dps to fight the DLC final boss.
It's good to warn people that this isn't a fully skill based game, but the penalty for not using the strongest gear in the game is nowhere near as extreme as you describe it.
If your not using rank3 bitterblack weapons at max upgrade you might as well give up fighting Daimon second form. You can't interrupt his stupidly big vortex move and all your partner are too stupid to stay in cover from it, left you alone for the fight when 4 of your team's damage is already non existence. Good luck fighting that thing alone for more than 30mins. If you have the correct weapons, the fight only took 5 mins.
message2god I never play with pawns so I've never had the problem of them getting sucked into the rift, but the fight is not as hard as you describe it, not if you're a decent level and don't use garbo pre-dragon weps. Not to mention you can, and most people do, just supplement your lack of damage with periapts. You by no means need bb lvl3 weps.
Gear is definitely important, but not so to that extent. I think the first time I beat Awakened Daimon, I was using a bow from the Everfall or something. And I think with the gold forging of items, you can pretty much use whatever you want for "Fashion Souls" but yes, for the most part at end game, everyone will be using BBI level 2/3 gear that they can get their hands on. That's something I hope they address in a sequel. To compare it more with Dark Souls, I think it would be very good if a second Dragon's Dogma made it so that ALL gear is viable once upgraded, allowing more versatility and variety between players. Considering DD isn't strictly speaking a mulitplayer game, it's less so of an issue... but it still is a bit boring that pretty much everyone has the same gear eventually.
They have a squeal, its called Dragon's dogma online. Only open for people in Japan to play. I heard the warrior was already adjusted to be more viable than what we have.
For anyone finding this game late: each magic based compass has 1 skill that is absolutely fantastic but often gets overlooked: Mage: Grapnel. It holds down gigantic creatures incredibly well. A good pawn with this makes a warrior or sorceror’s life 10x easier. Sorceror: Miasma. The starting spell for sorcerors. It deletes healthbars, especially for human enemies like bandits. Most people will have tried the blearing spell on mage and found it a little lacking, but miasma is far from that. Mystic Knight: The Riposte shield spells. Landing a perfect counter with these spells is the bread and butter of Mystic Knight, and is incredibly satisfying to pull off, but are easily overlooked as a shield version of the boon spells for staff users by newcomers to the vocation, not understanding how potent the counters can be. Magick Archer: Magic Rebalancer. This skill is busted OP. It supercharges your magic stat, stacking up to 4 times, for absurd magic based damage output.
The counters and things for the MK are absolutely crazy, yeah! And you're right in how satisfying they are to pull off - they don't even need really strict timing, to boot.
I'm a mystic knight with complete immortal's armor set, brigandine jerkin, denim hosen, conqueror's mantel, cursed bite, and dragons faith with 2 rings of sable, minimum height to enter goblin burrows. My pawn is a female ranger with twilight mask, twilight greaves, twilight gauntlets, denim hosen, marshal bracers, leather belts, ancient cape, hydra husk, dowsing spikes, and 2 rings of onyx, max height. Basically she looks like a ninja with her eyes, back, and belly exposed but everything else covered, and like with dark souls, a serpentine theme is easily noticed. My armor's sigil shows a hydra snake, my pawn's weapons are both shaped like snakes, plus this team works great. My armor rapidly heals me when not in combat, and my pawn's daggers glow green when near possible treasure. At full reinforcement, all of our weapons easily slay all non-boss enemies on the main continent and severely damage hostile hydras, though since I'm into vore, I poison myself to skip grapple struggling, and temporarily unequipt my pawn's weapons so she can't stop it from digesting me. note: only hydras, arch hydras, and man-eaters have been able to defeat me since I thought of this team build.
I'm so much looking forward to play it again on my ps4 ^^ Had a blast playing as a Warrior Arisen with my Ranger Pawn. There Master a HARPYXD never gets old, although I played it most on Japanese.
If you only care about the stats, ranger is one of the most versatile classes as they gain a good amount of health, stamina, attack and magick attack. This is however compensated with low defence and magick defence growth but is anyhow a very good class for the uncertain starter.
You make your one character after the tutorial, and then once you get a bit further in the game you can swap classes if you want to. Advanced classes at the city.
Helpful tip for starter mages, ignore what comestions description says, IT DESTROYS EVERYTHING (as long as you place it directly under an enemy/ies). Use it on the ogres in the everfall and mines, you can't go wrong
Yeah, sometimes the skill descriptions aren't really that good. It's always best to try out skills on your own! And sometimes if a skill seems terrible, it's worth looking up online, to see if it's actually terrible or has some other use you might've not noticed.
Had a blast with this game. Could never understand why my pawn came back with rocks (hahaha), finally changed him to a beast instead of running around picking up everyone and rewards were better. Always gave good rewards for the pawns I used. One of my favorites. Thanks for this.
Michele R Usually, when your pawn keeps coming back from the rift with rocks it means he's been banned from receiving gifts (usually happens when the server detects that you're using him to trade items with another account), but since you stopped getting them then maybe this wasn't the case. That or the ban was lifted.
Highly agree with the warrior bit. As limiting and lackluster as the warrior is, I played it first and didn't really see its shortcomings until I tested other vocations. It's by far one of the most satisfying to play though.
This game has the potential to be a true epic, for instance the original concept had an infinite tower where you can visit other player worlds and encounter them. It needed more meaningful side quests not involving fetching or escorting, more meaningful interactions with characters and side stories, more history to the land and more dramatic cut scenes, more diversity of enemies and different spawn locations, more towns with backstories with missions resolving conflicts or not with repercussions, larger map, more unique dungeons, more many things, jsut sad it capcom seems to be sitting on this one.

This is one of the most under-rated games of all time, and it's fantastic
It's in my top 10, if not my top 5!
I think the game truly had the potential to be on par with Skyrim and The Witcher in the top RPGs of their era. The combat and the vocation systems are probably the best ones I've seen in my life. The same goes for character customization.
But there were some poor choices here and there that brought it down. Off the top of my head:
-The very limited fast travel options
-Having just one village and one city (which are both amazingly well built)
-The exact same monsters spawning in the exact same place every time
-All of the above make travel very repetitive
-Lazy voice acting
-The very counter-intuitive quest system and storyline development
-The main character having almost no dialogue options, making the interactions seem bland
-Low amount of dungeons
I'd say that the game suffers mostly because of it's lack of world expansion. It's pretty much in the same level as Ocarina of Time in terms of places you can visit and how you can get there. The world sometimes feels empty, much like Dark Souls' does, but at last that's deliberate and necessary in DS. DD has no excuses for it.

@@2_572 personally I think next gen exclusive
It's coming !!!!!!!!🎉
Great guide, i hope you don't mind if i add some thoughts :)
Mages have extremely bad hp growth; they basically get the same stat growth as Sorcerers but with less hp so you'll get lower stats overall between Level 10-100 (and between 100-200 it's more balanced but the stats you get are less with each level so it really matters a lot). I still think Warriors are the worst class, like you said, but Mages give them a run for their money... lol
About Warriors, while i basically agree with 3:58 and 4:30, they have one strength that really sets them apart for early-to mid-game, which is that they have extremely powerful single hits.
FeelsBadMan (if you need more convincing, look up "Magick Archer vs the World on YT", someone did a great demonstration lol
8:10 one of the coolest vocations
Top Waifu on most of those points i agree but there are 2 that are dead wrong. Incs are extremely important. Without them pawns will sometimes stand there and do nothing when you need them too. And on the next note mystic knight can do more damage then magic archer if you lvl right and know how to use the class. Back on 360 i had 7 characters and my mystic was the best out of all of them.
I mean to be fair most people like the ranged classes because they are much easier but i have always like myk
Yeah, the thing about Mystic Knight is that you really need to understand the skills to do anything... at all. The basic attacks are absolutely terrible, I played Mystic Knight for ages and I just couldn't get it to do ANYTHING compared to when I played Warrior. Eventually I started to get the hang of it - you just need to be doing counters all the time, and that Stone Jungle ability (and magic cannon spam if you feel like!)
But yeah they really do suffer from a skill bloat and not enough slots to put them in.
Assassin has the best Strength growth.. if you go to the Dragons Dogma wiki / Statgrowth you can see the values for each vocation
*an *an *an *an *an....
noob tip: all paths lead to Gran Soren
noob tip: wolves hunt in packs
the biggest noob tip (and is actually quite fitting because of the game's versatility):
*they're masterworks all, you can't go wrong*
Yet another noob tip: *They hold the advantage*
Noob tip : Paths often splits so be doubly sure which one you're taking.
Oh another tip : When your pawn grabs hold of an enemy and screams at you to finish it.....do it. Very satisfying
noob tip: when you have the high ground you have the advantage.
this is still one of my favorite games, and it is cool that it is getting a re release
Leon McDonald
yeah dude. Never finished it before on ps3. I purchased the ps4 version and played it thos morning before work lol
This game has aught to offer. Mayhap my favorite game ever.
Derrick Castle I swear my pawns keep saying, “containers have aught to offer,” every 30 seconds 😂😂
You sound like an npc in gran soren lol
It's fun to quote DD in real life. Working in "I've been drenched" is a good one
@@SilverMont Soaked to the bone!
I level up as a strider so I can be versatile in my builds so switching between classes makes it fun to play
Great video, thank you for lots of info.. no long intro, simple explanation, matching gameplay, good audio quality, and no sponsors! Great work
I try to keep sponsored videos to things more like reviews or less specific topics so they aren't distracting
@@SilverMont Well it is much appreciated and your format is very professional.
Gran spoke of this...
Silver Mont ok thanks guys I'll rethink my options ...strider sounds good
xD4B00TYB4ND1Tx Zuricks mages are glass cannons. And sorcerers are glass CANNNNOOOOONS
I was thinking this was a pretty good video but, when I got to the very end, I decided it was perfect.
You mean you decided it was a masterwork.
Good shit, dude. Well explained. You have one of THE most pleasant voices I’ve ever heard. You may be in the perfect line of work.
I'm glad if it helped!
I remember the first time I got Focused Bolt skill for my sorcerer, I melted everything after and it felt awesome XD will probably play a sorcerer again.
Thanks for the video!
This game is one of my top 3 favorites of all time. I can't wait for the ps4 version
cloudbloom hey, guess what :-) its out
Witcher3, skyrim(I would say morrowind if my pc didn't shit out on me) and dragons dogma are my favorite three games to play.

Thanks so much for this video. I'm a total newcomer to this game but got randomly excited for it with the upcoming remaster arriving on console. This vid is invaluable for showing me all the varying paths as well as whetting my appetite for the amazing combat in store for me soon.
You're in a for a real treat, then! Dragon's Dogma is an amazing game.
Still playing this masterpiece in 2021. Can't wait for number 2!
did I miss something?
0:35 Yeah no, it's been about 5 hours and I still havent reached the city lol, so much to do outside of it
Man I am a *Warrior* fanatic! I have had the most satisfyingly fun runs playing as a solo warrior!
I thought u were ded
Search UA-cam for "The Min/max myth"
ua-cam.com/video/Pj5u3F-FSeA/v-deo.html
@@SilverMont It's the exact same for me 😄 That's why I thought of it actually
Incredible how this game still feels so sick and spectacular
It’s 2020 and for the first time I’m sinking my teeth into Dragon’s Dogma and I honestly think Dragon’s Dogma is what I wanted Skyrim to be.
There are pros with both games but damn if DD doesn’t scratch that itch
Only advise for people not really min-maxing but still sort of want to go there but not really and wants to experiment a bit:
Just choose either physical damage dealers or magic dealers when you start. They have like 4 classes each as shown in the video.
I'd like to point out you can reach advanced locations even earlier by visiting bitter black isle on your first night in Cassidaris.
I have the game for both Xbox one x and switch. I’m just starting out and I know it’s an old game, but I really appreciate this video. You’ve done a great job, breaking down the different vocations. Excellent video! I’m subscribing. Thank you again!
Years or months later, you still find yourself back here even though you have been here before, probably more than once too.
I enjoyed this video very much. And i use light armor.
Haha I ranked all vocations❤
Man this game is so awesome - and vocations like Magic Archer and Mystic Knight just underlined it. For a beginner I'd say don't care about min-maxing and just enjoy the game the way you want, but as someone who has 200h in this game I highly appreciate your video since I am going to do a somewhat min-maxed run now.
Yeah you really don't need to worry about the min-maxing of stats, but it's nice to be aware of how stat allocations work, at least
There is one thing i wanna say about warrior that i think you forgot to mention
The warrior is while not only the most tankies *in my opinion* it is also the simplest and easy to use one because all you need to do is swing your sword. For those not good with spell casting timing blocks aiming with the bow and things like that.
Magic Archer is hands down the best class in the game, the ricochet arrows will kill everything in a small cramped space, and I mean EVERYTHING even Death O_O
And it just so happens that BBI is almost exclusively cramped spaces, what with being one big dungeon! Magick Archers really shine in there.
It is the most fun and broken class I've played. No enemy was able to survive 10 minutes. I just laughed whenever I killed enemies that once gave me trouble with ease.
How about... Ur Dragon?
AdmirableLoki02 really?, I am late to playing this game, love this game
just got this for the switch, never heard of this game before but it's like the perfect mmorpg I always wanted but for single player.
Yeah i picked it up Sunday and it is amazing
Never heard of this game but it looks freaking amazing
It's one of my top 10 games of all time, if not my top 5. I hope you pick it up and enjoy it as much as I did!
i didnt know about stat growth, you saved me there, thank you!
Just fell in love with the game! All these years later, thanks for the help
You're very welcome! Good timing, with 2 coming!
Dragon's Dogma?
You mean Arc of Deliverance Simulator 2013?
Personell101 Soooo much damage!!
Rangers Tenfold flurry says hi...
brad kirchhoff with blast arrows...
Blast arrows make things easy mode. Basically god mode. Even without blast arrows or periapts, rangers tenfold is as powerful as any other skill in the game. Entire rooms can be cleared in 1 flurry.
As a Warrior, Arc of Deliverance is just a flashy waste of time. Jumping light attack is what the go-to move is for that class. No load up either.
Was unsure about dropping a like or not because I was just reminding myself of lost knowledge but that last line was perfect, I'll subscribe just for that.
New player, picking this up for the first time. Thanks for the class guide, it's really helpful. I think I'm going to build towards a magic archer 😊
It's a lot of fun! ...Well, pretty much every vocation is, but MA has some of the most wacky things haha
When I saw Solaris saying " Tis but a flesh wound" in the video I imagined when Solaire helps you against Orstaine and Smough
Hah! I'm sure there's a lot of Solaire pawns floating around.
Great guide bro! I watched it twice in a row even though I perfectly understood everything the first time.
Im subbing just because of the ending. That's a huge meme between my friends
nooo don't make me miss this game again!
Roc the game is being remastered...
After spending 30 hours in Dragon's Dogma, I just realized the implications of "Dark Arisen"
Oh yeah?
Silver Mont it never even occured to me that it might be about an evil arisen
its about the last boss in Bitterblack
Nobody:
Sorcerer: "Look at my tornado."
"I can't see anything in here, though."
I love they brought this back to current gen consoles
wow, used to play this game back in 2012 on the ps3
good times (I still have the game)
About Time PS4 players will be able to enjoy a game that I loved on PS3!
Bought this game yesterday, thanks for the tips!
GSS1-Sirius Yes a fighter is better for what you want
give them guardian inclinations and they'll spam the skill that is best described as taunt
Very helpful video, a true masterwork that can't go wrong.
just a quick tip after you kill the dragon for the first time SWITCH TO HARD MODE gold will be much easier to get and you will level 3 times as fast hard mode isn't as hard as it seems you just don't want to get hit by anything (a bandit one shots my ranger only lvl 30 charachter and bats deal 100 damage per hit)
Yeeeeees yeeeeeees i cant wait for it to hit the store. Now if DD Online will finally release in west i can die happy
you have a great narration voice for dragons dogma
I'm glad you think so!
Magick Archer fo life, bitchees!!!
I heard that in the Principle's voice from American Dad.
In all seriousness though, ANY class is viable and fun to play depending on your playstyle. Like the famous Blacksmith in the game "once"(lol) said "They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong."
Chasing Chickens I'm 49hours in and that line pisses me of so hard ...
For anyone finding this game late: each magic based compass has 1 skill that is absolutely fantastic but often gets overlooked:
Mage: Grapnel.
And you're right in how satisfying they are to pull off - they don't even need really strict timing, to boot.
heyy i love your souls content! I just got DD yesterday and i was so glad when i saw you're making great content for it aswell!
Hope you have fun with DD! It's one of my faves.
Does this mean that we might get a play through with some lore perhaps?
I don't think I'm gonna make a Let's Play, but I might stream a playthrough on twitch (and export it here too, probably)

+Silver Mont I can't wait to play this game again
I'm so much looking forward to play it again on my ps4 ^^ Had a blast playing as a Warrior Arisen with my Ranger Pawn. There Master a HARPYXD never gets old, although I played it most on Japanese.
If you only care about the stats, ranger is one of the most versatile classes as they gain a good amount of health, stamina, attack and magick attack. This is however compensated with low defence and magick defence growth but is anyhow a very good class for the uncertain starter.
Yeah, that's definitely true. If you're unsure if you want to be doing physical or magick damage (or a hybrid) then Ranger is a safe bet.
Looking forward to watching this later , I've pre ordered on PS4 can't wait for Tuesday . Never played it before
You're in for a treat, then!
My advice to you, play the game however you like. The gameplay, atmosphere, story they're masterworks all, you can't go wrong!
So u create charavter after tutorial for the advance classes right? Or can u re create char again?
I’m getting the game this weekend so I need this guide
I wish pawns had access to hybrid classes, a paladin pawn sounds so awesome y'know?
Hopefully in DD2, we can have hybrid vocation pawns!
Had a blast with this game. Could never understand why my pawn came back with rocks (hahaha), finally changed him to a beast instead of running around picking up everyone and rewards were better. Always gave good rewards for the pawns I used.
One of my favorites. Thanks for this.
It's a bit worrying when your old man pawn comes back with a "big nut."
LOL. They're rare more reason to be uneasy.
Michele R Usually, when your pawn keeps coming back from the rift with rocks it means he's been banned from receiving gifts (usually happens when the server detects that you're using him to trade items with another account), but since you stopped getting them then maybe this wasn't the case. That or the ban was lifted.
Thanks but that wasn't the case. I had to change the inclination. :)
Highly agree with the warrior bit. As limiting and lackluster as the warrior is, I played it first and didn't really see its shortcomings until I tested other vocations. It's by far one of the most satisfying to play though.
It's an incredibly fun class!
This is the first game that made me do research before starting. The abilities and build are so complex.
Yeah, I think those Everfall dungeons we got are kind of the remnants of the "infinite tower" concept, judging from how well they kinda sync up.
I hate that you cant have a staff in your off-hand and a sword in your primary
This isn’t dark souls lol
@joseprice8966 in skyrim you could, marrowwindind, eso, and several other games
Is it worth sticking to a fighter or is it always better to upgrade to a warrior when you can?
Warrior isn't really an upgrade, it's just different. In a lot of ways, fighter is better. Warrior is a lot of fun though, too.
what class are you playing in the beginning vs the snake ?
Strider
@@0rpheusaugust208 strider cant use sword ?, is he playing assassin ?

Exactly! They all fell just the same. You did a good job, man. I'm sure others (much more than this 1%) will also agree. :D
Would absolutely love a playthrough of the main questline, maybe even some bitterblack stuff.
It would be fun to do! It's one of my favourite games
This game and kingdom of Amular are really good underappreciated games imo.
