“Billion-dollar green slush fund scandal”: Conservatives push for answers to whistleblower claims

- At question period on Tuesday, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre discussed what he calls “The Prime Minister’s billion-dollar green slush fund (Sustainable Development Technologies Canada) scandal."
"(Trudeau’s) own bureaucrats say it reminds them of the sponsorship scandal, whose executives gave money to their own companies,” Poilievre said.
Conservative MP Michael Barrett commented that a committee on Monday saw “explosive testimony by a whistleblower on (Trudeau’s) "green slush fund" that has seen $150 million misappropriated and gone to Liberal insiders.”
Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne froze the activities of STDC (Sustainable Development Technologies Canada) in early October after numerous whistleblower complaints.
“We suspended the funding of the organization, we called for an investigation, leadership has resigned - we’ll get to the bottom of this,” Champagne vowed.

It is important to remember that crimes are crimes no matter who perpetuates them. Once moneys are "recategorized" AFTER they have been taxed is embezzlement. And even if it is the PM doing the embezzlement it is still illegal.

Usually when we invest we want to know where the miney is going and the return. This is the same for iur taxes. The government is supposed to keep track and provide a breakdown in how that mlney is being used. The aliberals keep saying, "Let me be clear", except when it comes time to show receipts. Someone that has the time needs to look into this via freedom of information.

Doesn't matter who is in power they are going to have to make deep cuts to public service and raise taxes due to the spending of borrowed money by the current government. Pierre speaks to both the emotional and critical thinker, while trudeau continues to speak to just the emotional. Polls show more people are paying attention to Pierre now, but this could flip back if those voters are still just reacting emotionally and trudeau figures out a better drama scene to act out.

I was born in 1965. My growing up years were spent in public school and working with my father. One day after I graduated, my father told me the was a guy who needed workers. He drove me to the job, dropped me off and I was immediately set to some of the hardest work you could ever do. I earned my keep the way my father taught me I should.
One day in highschool we were given a speech on how our taxes worked for us. How the government would use the money to provide roads, healthcare and even retirement funds and the like.
Out in the real world we took whatever money of ours was left and managed as best we could in looking after our own welfare.
It’s like living in two different worlds. In one you are responsible for your welfare and in the other it’s the government’s job.
But here is where I am fed up. The government keeps taking more and more responsibility for my welfare. Providing new programs over time. Taking aspects of my welfare I never asked them to take on and my money to go with it. I might also add that they most often do a lousy job of it while asking for more funds or running up the national debt. Simply put, some things are simply better left alone.
Back to the question. Fighting for what? Our socialistic government has its benefits but seems to me it has become a practice in idol worship. Not to be questioned just blindly followed. Here is my perspective on where the fight is. Campaign slogans should not be trusted. All politicians use them but rarely explain the details. Canadians fight off the hype and vote for common sense. Vote for less government interference in our lives. Ask the burning questions and don’t take the policy response. Canadians fight for your selves.

That’s mean that construction companies have to absorb the high demand for housing, more jobs in that sector, more taxes but also the high cost of construction from high costs of raw materials, labor could make the supply still low. Reducing taxes to what extent, too much is risky for the current decreasing deficit.
On one side, we have the facts. On the other side we have corrupt, incompetent, overwrought drama queens.

These labels you assign yourselves just continue to divide all of you involved. Try no label and I think you’ll enjoy it. It’s an opportunity to question literally every belief each of us has and why. But these people yell at each other like children don’t follow their example cause this solves nothing. I think we need more dialogue and politicians who speak instead of resorting to yelling because who wouldn’t get defensive when yelled at
