I've been watching videos of Messer Chups for a week straight, and this is one of the best recordings, visually and sonically. Earlier than some videos, but somehow, a more varied songlist. Oleg apparently always plays that same Jazzmaster, unless they're playing as the Bonecollectors, where he plays a Gretsch. I've seen Svetlana play three different basses - this Mustang, a Danelectro longhorn, and a Precision bass copy. Do they change drummers, or does Boris have different looks? Oleg and Svetlana always look the same, over the five years' worth of videos I've seen. They are very adept musicians!
Holy shit. Can someone please give me more modern surf bands to check out? I know there has to be more, it's just hard finding them when surf isn't exactly the most popular music
The bass could be a little louder in the mix. She’s really driving the beat. Like punching the shit out of it. And I mean that in a good way. Great musicians all around.
