I think Richie and Desmond Child also co-wrote the song with BJ. The whole BJ band was back up on the Cher version. I believe they were considering it as part of their New Jersey album but ultimately gave it to Cher. Would have been nice though.
I've always had a bootleg of this but the first time I've seen the video. That's Tony Levin on bass. Not sure about the guitarist but he pretty much duplicates Richie's solo on the original Cher version. That's Crystal Tallefaro on backing vocals.
I'm sorry, but I don't like these two voices together. To me it sounds like if she's screaming over Richies voice si you can hardly hear him. I feel the same way with orianthi when they are doing this song together. It's like if the woman voice its to hard, and Richies warm. At the end when booth are at the same volume it's ok. She sing very nice, it's just that I don't like them together. He's really moving fantastic here. I hope that I didn't hurt anybodys feelings with this post, but I just had to let it out..
