MRSA Screening at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust

This “How to take an MRSA screen swab” Video has been developed as a result of a review into a recent MRSA bacteraemia case where it was asked do all staff know how to take a swab and although we have written polices some people learn better to see a demonstration. We hope that this “How to” video will be the first of many practical videos which can be used as an educational/training tool across the Trust

Tap should be closed by elbow and the swab stick should be take with clean gloves...then moist the swab with sterile water ...
