This movie is soooo underrated, unappreciated and has a low score on rotten tomatoes. I boggles the mind that good movies are so overlooked when this movie actually hits pretty hard. People should really give this gem a look.
Both Charlie and Patrick are great actors! They sounded so natural in this scene. Overall the movie is very interesting but controversial with all these things connected with religion.
I loved this movie - as an avid Sons of Anarchy fan was looking for movies with Charlie Hunnam in them. Was very happy to find this one - he is such a good actor, and did not like the ending - wrong guy on the ledge...did enjoy it though.
The same way no one wins when two people of different religions argue about who the real god is.... Literally i can create my own religion and own god and if i argue with a person from different religion no one wins... What does that suggest...?
But the problem is how did people know/conclude that god existed in the first place? If there was never any evidence to begin with in the first place, then the way that people arrived at the conclusion that there was a god is not exactly reliable/credible.

I really loved watching it!

And tho not an Atheist (I attended as a Prof of Social Psych), I appreciated the heart and perseverance evident in its production. And, the fact that he got 'big talent' to sign onto this independent film is worth something. In the end, I think it gave voice to some conversations/arguments that not until then, had found, nor been given their voice.
I first saw this movie when I was a Christian (and Yes, the fundamentalist kind) and I was offended and angered by what Gavin had to say. Now that I'm a Pantheist, I actually love what Gavin has to say.

My problem with this movie is that it tries to pass itself off as intelectual and thought provoking but all it really presents is a strawman argument. It feels like one of those cheap straight to DVD Christian movies...only for atheists. Yay equality...?
niel nielsen I agree with thereefshark. It does have the feel of a TBN special or something like "Left Behind." I portrays the antagonist (the film's primary Christian representation) as a violent and puristic fundamentalist who tries to convert people on the spot and even speaks directly to god on behalf of the main character. Most Christians don't behave this way. I don't believe in god, but this is the sort of thing that encourages me to refrain from labeling myself as an Atheist. They could have made him an atheist without making it the purpose of the movie. I Am Legend almost did that. Sucks they didn't follow through.
I'm sorry, but this scene is too full of errors. I kindly recommend Charlie Hunnam, Patrick Wilson, ALL the actors who were in this movie, and those who worked on this movie, especially the director Matthew Chapman, to watch some of my seminars to understand things rightly, & not make up stories about what Christians would say.
