It’s so awesome to come home to their happy squeaks!! Best sound ever. Guinea pigs are the most underrated pets. I recommend them for any single person
@@blanky8718 They need unlimited hay. It's the most important part of their diet. No question! A good brand of nuggets for vitamin c. And they also need a good selection of veggies every day. Peppers gave the most vitamin C but they can also eat lettuce, cucumber, corriander etc. Just Google if a veggie is safe for them if you're ever unsure. Some are best fed in moderation, not every day. They also enjoy fruits. But fruits are high in sugar and should only be given as an occasional treat!
Reminds me back when I had my very first pig and I would come home from work. Which at the time I worked McD's so could bring home the little packet of apple slices for him every shift. It felt like an intruder alarm went off in my apartment went I'd get home, but he knew he could rely on me to come through and the sqweeking as a welcome home.....that's what this video brings be back to and how happy all my pigs are to this day when I get home. Even more so my current girls, who both go nUtS when I get home because they know cucumbers and green peppers are soon to follow.

Are your piggies make or female? I think males eat and poop more. Also don’t forget that there will be plenty of poops in parts of my piggies cage you can’t see!
Thanks Charlie. I’ve had them for 2 years now. It took ages for them to bond with me! At least a year and they still only let me stroke them in the cage when they feel safe and feel like they’re not going to be picked up. They hate being picked up generally as it’s scary and they love their home. Food, patience and time are key. And did I mention food? 🤣 Bonding is best when they’re on your lap though. It’s such a different environment and they lick me much more to show their love. Sausage nearly fell asleep on me once 🥰 hope this answers your question
Saskia from la Guinea pig rescue has a video on training/taming Guinea pigs where you push them outside of their comfort zones in a safe environment to show them nothing bad will happen. I’ve started it with mine. She moves them around, leaves them be, picks them up, puts them down, leaves them be, scratches them, leaves them. Desensitisation sort of things. Seems to work.
@@P1nkyandthebra1n yours looks pretty good! Mine still always hide even when they know I’m the one that brings the food. If I put it in the cage and sit down they will eventually come out for some. They’ll even come out when I put my hand up on the cage and wait. If they’re desperate enough. But they don’t eagerly await my arrival or anything like yours do :-(
Clean it off with soap and warm water! It happens every now and again but they mostly pee in the cage as they feel more comfortable there and spend longer there
Don't they poop around the house? How do you train them not to poop around. I also want to keep a guinea pig and let it roam freely on the house balcony. But I'm afraid that they will poop aimlessly
They mostly poop where they feel safe and where they eat. Every now and again one flies out of these areas onto the floor or if you feed them a lot next to the sofa - which I have done in the past - they will poop there too. But don’t worry as most of the floor will be poop - free. I’m sure you know this already but Guinea pigs should always have a friend with them. They are herd animals and will get lonely by themselves! Best of luck

Aww. Coming home to those cute pigs would always be good stress relief.

I so agree. I couldn’t love anything more than I love my Guinea pigs. They make me so happy ❤️
Then there’s my boys when I come home from work: one just stares me down and the other rattles the cage bars. No cute wheeks, just intimidation. 😂
Lol.
Bahhahaa! Hilarious, I’d love to see that! 🤩
i have 6 piggies when i cone home from work they act like puppies new sub

Every day I come home this is what creates me. I have 12 guinea pigs.
That’s amazing! I’d love to see them. Do you have a channel?
My question:
Has anyone information that the sound produced by Guineas pigs will make rats stay far away?
Interesting question. Apparently our neighbours downstairs have issues with mice but we don’t here. Maybe they’re effective at deterring mice too?
