We live in the SE in a rural area. Deep woods on two sides of us. Something sounds likes it’s flipping around in my attic making knocking sounds….usually a single knock…or two flipping sounds as if you flipped your hand over quickly on a wooden coffee table. It starts around 11:00 at night and goes on all night, off and on. I hear it in the morning too, but by lunchtime, it’s gone. Always seems to be in the corners of the room, or where the outside wall meets the ceiling…..hard to get to those areas in the attic without crawling almost on your belly to go all the way out to the edge inside the attic. I’ve been up there with strong lights at night and cannot see a thing. A squirrel would typically come in at dusk and leave in the early morning, so I don’t think it’s a squirrel since it starts late and goes on all night. We have: put out dog proof rat poison in one area only of the attic…after 6 months about a third of the one block is gone; pest control put poison in one container in the crawl space basement…it’s usually eaten in a little while…and they put in fresh bait every 3 months; we have set rat traps (peanut butter bait) and sticky traps in the attic….one trap went off but did not catch anything. We have set up several sizes of “Have a Heart” traps in the yard with bait but have only caught one squirrel and a opossum after many months. Could it be flying squirrels, which are nocturnal? If so, how do we get rid of them? Going nuts with no sleep.
I'm trying to figure out if it's a 🦝 Raccoon or a opossum under my house,under my Bathroom floor benieth my bathtub. Some crazy sounds under there,and it doesn't sound like the usual stray cats that go under there.
Dude I literally am having the same exact problem. I can hear it nestled up between the wall and the tub and its driving me nuts lol. And I'm in the same boat. I think it could be a possum or a raccoon since I've seen both around my house
I’ve heard sounds in my kitchen ceiling and it sounds like birds. At first I thought it was birds outside and then I heard it two more times different days. I’ve seen raccoons and opossums outside my house recently…. Help.
Same! Sounds like it’s between my tub and wall (where a pocket door slides onto) but I don’t see it in there. I think it’s under the floor in the crawl space. Sounds like it might be stuck…or just being a raccoon. There’s a few really small openings to the crawl space but I don’t know how small of a space a raccoon can can fit through. Now there’s banging…like right now…
Me as brazilian living in Florida coming here to see what does a raccoon say because every single night I heard some noise and I thought it could be a raccoon! Yes! It is! What surprised me is a baby raccoon noise! I thought it was an adult guy lol In Brazil there's no raccoon!
Would animals make a nest on a skylight? The skylight has an inside covering over it, so I can’t see what’s up there. But I keep hearing squeaks and scratches, and it sounds like it’s on the glass.
If it only wasn’t so damn expensive to get them out I see one go into the attic he must have slipped out or something because I didn’t see him we have had a dead raccoon in the old heater we had hopefully won’t be living here much longer

But what do adult raccoons sound like? Like, when they are hunting, and communicating with each other.

@@xurx2838 it accidentally got run over in the busy street behind my house 💔and it did damage the AC but we fixed it :)
