    Historical review:
"SS marshiert in Feindesland", also known as "Teufelslied" ("Devil's Song") was a Third Reich marching song used by the Waffen SS. The song encompasses elements of heroism, loyalty, anti-communism and patriotism that are presented over a beat of typical German music.
The song was modified on several occasions, due to the course of the war. Originally, its lyrics referred to the banks of the Volga River in Russia, and later to those of the Oder River on the German-Polish border, where heavy fighting took place in 1945.
There was also a Norwegian version of the song called "På Vikingtog" which was sung by members of the 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking. A translated and modified version was sung by members of the Waffen SS 20th SS Grenadier Division (Estonian No. 1) as "Laul Pataljon Narwa" ("The Song of the Narwa Battalion"). The same song with different lyrics was also the marching song of the Waffen SS 19th Grenadier Division (2nd Latvia). Likewise, the German paratroopers had a variant of the song, more patriotic and clearly with fewer references to National Socialism. There is a precedent in time for the same song, the "Condor Legion Parade March" (Parademarsch der Legion Condor, in German), with the same music but different lyrics.
After World War II, there were different versions of this song, a version with slightly different lyrics and translation, the song also found its way into the French Foreign Legion and is still sung today as "La Legion marche". In Brazil this song was translated, modified and used by the Brazilian Air Force, and would also be translated, modified and used by the Italian Army. So much so that the Fourth Company of the Chilean Army uses a modified version, but with the same base, with a patriotic tone and proud of the country's victories.
