DISCLAIMER - " Increase current gradually & check the temperature of mosfet if it gets much hot decrease the current to find the proper current it can handle"
i will tell you the difference between the two types :- the first on (from company ) can give you more range volt with 8 Amps but your design when you increase input volt the mosfet will be very hot and the output current only 1.5 Ams

I don't know where you saw 12v battery & If you're talking about circuit diagram where "12V speed controller" is name of the circuit - Not input voltage ⚡ If you still have any query comment with the time stamp of the video so that I can answer properly

No it is connect led in parallel with output terminal. Motor is running well so LED should let me check it out!
