awesome! The best switcher I've seen so far! I think there's only 2 features missing to make it perfect for me: 1.: frequency splits (split into 2 paths at a specific frequency, so you can for example keep the lows clean and fat and distort the highs) 2.: blend option for each block (so that you can chose, how much of the connected pedal should be added to the signal. This would be great to have one solid constant sound base with different amounts of distortions)
Super cool product, I don't have nearly enough pedals to have the need for this but if I had them I'd seriously consider getting one. The only thing that is really odd to me is the jack placement with that snaking pattern. Could have had In and all Returns in the top row and Out and all the Sends in the bottom row so it'd be easy in a pinch to swap things without having to look at the back panel (e.g. second row of jacks is Send / Return Loop A).
This exactly what I have been looking for my rig. I want to run 2 delays in parallel for some sounds and back into series for other sounds. I only need it for my stereo section of my board. I could rackmount the stereo fx with the ML10X and utilize my Rocktron MIDIMATE controller. Patch in my Rack FX in the loop bay. I am very excited by this product.
Great product! But it would be nice to have (in advanced mode) the possibility to set up the gain (or better, gain reduction) of the different signal path (like the SoundSculpture Switchblade does).
That would make it quite a different product. Cost and size Maybe consider a midi pedal that suits the job in your chain. I use a Compadre and a Riverside as part of an ES8 board in that way. I still get signal to pass through and turn the pedals on manually, I thought the whole point of creating loops was so that I wouldn't have to do that

It would be nice if the unit had a means of checking the phase of each pedal's out against the others in the chain and the source - which might require a signal generator in the unit being patched to the first pedal's IN. Switching and routing signals is just a portion of what requirements a professional rig has.
@@MorningstarEngineering Well, you don't really answer it there. You state there that there is no signal phase inversion available. What my question was pointing toward is a means of CHECKING if there is a phase issue. A simple regulated internal sine wave at 1k, acting as a clock, checked against any 1k signal coming in from each pedal is all it should take. Then the unit gives the user a warning that pedal X is out of phase with the other pedals (or the internal signal). That would just save people a lot of time and become a major selling point as owners helped their friends (WHO HAVEN'T BOUGHT ONE) check if their gear is phase inverted or skewed. It's stuff like that that can greatly increase your sales long term ;)

I've held off buying anything from you guys for years, and still consider the RJM mastermind pbc10 to be superior. 1) Are these loops buffered or true bypass loops? For parallel I guess there should be an active circuit for compensating the level drop, but what about series? I'm curious about signal coloring. 2) Can a single trs jack act as an in/out? I mean, can all tips and rings be ins and outs and viceversa?
Hi. (1) All loops are buffered to allow splitting and merging signals. The buffers on the ML10X are designed for maximum clarity and transparency. We will have audio samples in an upcoming video. (2) Each jack is labelled Send or Return. If it is Send, it can be used as an Out. If it is Return, it can be used as an In. Using a splitter cable will double the number of ins/outs for each jack.
@@MorningstarEngineering Thank you, having taken the time to answer all of these comments speaks for the company. I'm really looking forward to getting one.
MIDI over USB? I didn't hear this mentioned.... did I miss it? Need USB MIDI to integrate with a DAW, right? Do you manage gains with parallel loops? Each part and the end result all need to run at unity gain, for any configuration. This is not an issue with strict in-series circuits, or in stereo circuits (which is really just two separate strict in-series circuits that are not summed). The system should should run a full-voltage signal into each parallel loop, and then appropriately attenuate each result before summing. Otherwise, you'll have to adjust the gain knobs on each pedal for any loops with parallel sections. And if any presets use different numbers of parallel loops, you'll have to *readjust* any common pedals. (If you turn off half of your parallel loops without managing the gains automatically, you are cutting your signal volume by 1/2, so you need to turn the remaining pedals up). Can you create presets that route the signal through the same effect twice? I.e., place an effect block into a preset twice? Or, can you create intentional feedback paths in your block diagram, feeding an output back into an input? If you demonstrated this, I missed it.
Hi. Yes, MIDI over USB is possible. We recommend using a USB isolator to eliminate potential ground loop noise. Explained here: manuals.morningstar.io/ml10x/troubleshooting#Troubleshooting-NoisewhenUSBisconnected. We answer your question about gain control here: manuals.morningstar.io/ml10x/faq You cannot use the same effect twice in a preset as you only have one of that pedal. Yes you can create feedback if so desired by routing an output back into an input.
@@MorningstarEngineering Thanks for the reply, and good answers. Do you provide or can you recommend a suitable USB isolator? My earlier research into these failed to turn up any viable products (personally, I think the best design splits the incoming signals into two connectors, one to transfer data with no power connections, and one to provide power, fully isolated from the data signals).

Is it possible to use this with a Kemper or Helix? I would like to do something like add a big sky to after dual amps in the Helix but then send them back to some effects in the modeler.
Helix has fx loops…just use them instead. Save the money.
@@ChandlerBrown yeah I know about fox loops… problem is that I love wet stereo effects, so my fx loops are limited to basically 1 stereo unit. I’m difficult that way haha. If the ML10x cab allow multiple stereo FX loops in and out of modelers, I would truly consider it.
Hi. Yes, you can use it with a modeller for sure.
When are you guys coming out with a real flagship product? The MC8, could be an MC12, and you implement the ML10X? I'm not buying multiple devices to handle switching. I've held off buying anything from you guys for years, and still consider the RJM mastermind pbc10 to be superior. I will keep an eye out for your product releases to see if you listen to your customers or not.
can you control the phase in parallel signal chain ?
Hi. We answer your question in the ML10X FAQs here: manuals.morningstar.io/ml10x/faq
@@MorningstarEngineering thank you!!
Can the buffer be turned off if I want to have a fuzz in the chain?
Hi. The buffers are not defeat-able. We explain why and how to address that for fuzzes on our ML10X FAQ page:manuals.morningstar.io/ml10x/faq
That’s extraordinary. I guess it’s digital for it to do all that.
Hi. The audio path is 100% analog.
Don't ask questions. Just buy stuff.
@@davidkulmaczewski4911 Arturia make one (Iso Cable) for the Beatstep Pro, you can buy the kit seperately. :)
can i run 2 of these in my rig and link them?
Yes you can link them via MIDI thru!
